Yum! So many selections of juice and coffee. A lovely menu with a lot of different things to try, I already want to go back! I got the Jalapeño Bagel with Jalapeño Cream cheese. It was so good. I got some if the Jalapeño Cream cheese to go and will be going back to get more. My husband had an everything bagel with lox, capers and garlic cream cheese. The bagles were tosted perfectly and there was the right amount of cream cheese in each bit. The loxs were smokey and delicous. We loved that they made all these specialty cream cheeses in-house. To be honest it's a good thing they don't open earlier or my husband would be stopping on his way into work every morning and I can't have that. LOL read more

Not a bad little breakfast spot. Menu offers many options to choose from. I was originally going to take my order to go but I had some extra time in the morning and decided to eat in. I ordered the inside out omelette and choose to make it vegan for an up-charge. The girl then asked if I wanted regular or vegan cheese to go with it and I said vegan because I already had ordered it vegan. This ended up being another up-charge which I think I'd very misleading because I had already paid to make it vegan. They offered gluten free bread which I chose (another up-charge). I'm from New York home of the chewy inside Crispy outside bagel. When someone asked you If they can "toast" your bagel you know something is wrong. I believe their cashier wanted to be somewhere else. No greeting no smile she matched the weather outside foggy and grey. I ordered bacon egg and cheese on an everything. They didn't have everything. I ordered several vegan containers for a family gathering that was held the day the food was picked up. The containers were placed, and kept refrigerated. I only live about 10 minutes from the restaurant. When I attempted to eat one of the salads 8/30, it was rancid. This should not have been as the order was picked up only 3 days ago. I looked to see the preparation date and it was 5 days before the order was picked up 8/22. At that point the food was already too old to have been given to me on a called in ahead order. The manager I spoke to at about 9:45 8/31 could have cared less. She just kept repeating in a non caring voice,"Sorry about that." She stated that vegan dishes are made daily but had no answer in reference to why my food was so old. This restaurant was recommended but our family will no longer spend our money there. read more

UGH MY NEWFOUND LOVE! I have no idea how I missed such a gem before. I like this place so much I've been 3 times in the past week. For students, this is a perfect place to grab a quick bite as it is a close drive to ODU. My first experience, I came with my boyfriend for a light lunch. I'm vegan atm so when I saw all the options for me i was excited. They have a pretty equal split of the menu between vegan/non vegan items so it's perfect to go to if you're vegan and you may have a friend who's fond of say, chicken lol. I got the vegan chicken salad and omgggg it is my new favorite!!! It was SO good and worth every penny. I absolutely love creative vegan recipes like this. I actually even came back shortly after to order it again. Not only is their menu heart warming for those who are plant based, but their customer service is amazing! The first time, the girl I had complimented my makeup and we made some nice small talk. The second time, the guy who helped me was extremely kind and so cool! He pointed out my crystal necklaces and we made small talk about that. This place has super good vibes, great employees and yummy food. Although a Ghent resident for over two decades, it was only a few months ago when I ate at Yorgo's for the first time. I neglected to try it for so long, perhaps because it seemed to lack the sex appeal of some of the more trendier restaurants in the area. Shame on me. It is located at the intersection of Colonial Avenue and 22nd Street, at the end of a strip mall which also houses the New Belmont House of Smoke and a Muy Thai studio. Parking is limited in the front, but additional parking is available in the rear and along 22nd Street. A new owner, Greg Peterman, who was also a general manager at the No Frill Grill, bought Yorgo's a decade ago and reopened it in January of 2006. He has successfully steered it to the quality and popularity it enjoys today. Moving counter-clockwise as you enter, there is a display of various flavored coffees and mugs on the right, a rack of tee shirts, a case of specialty beverages, and a self-serve soda machine. The display counter up front offers a wide assortment of delicasies, including homemade cookies, breads, cream cheeses, and juices. Their bagels are hand crafted fresh daily with 100% organic flour and available in at least a dozen flavors. In the opinion of one local food writer, Yorgo's serves the "best bagels south of Philadelpia." In additon, they serve a variiety of wraps, burritos, sandwiches, soups, salads, and vegan dishes, all of which can be customized to your wishes. Their menu is a masterpiece of variety and economy, with each indvidual item priced at less than $10. After placing your order at the counter, you are given a receipt with a number and take a seat. When your number is called, you go up to retrieve your order. Sometimes they bring it right to your table. So far I have sampled the following: THE PETERMAN: Named after the owner, this is a vegan dish and is described as a tofu scrambler with hash browns, house made sausage, diaya cheese, and red onion in your choice of wrap. Their choice of wraps includes whole wheat, sun dried tomato, jalapeno, and spinach. I chose the spinach, which was very satisfying and eye catching. This was my first time tasting vegan style scambled eggs, sausage, and cheese. I was pleasantly surprised at the tastes and textures they delivered. The tofu scramble was a bit bland for my tastes, but a bottle of Texas Pete on my table came in handy for giving it a little more kick. My Rating: 4 Stars. VEGAN BUFFALO CHICK'N: Gardein brand chicken strips, lettuce, tomato, onion, herb vegenaise, and buffalo sauce. This can be ordered served in a bagel, wrap, or house made challah roll. I chose the jalapeno cheddar wrap. I had never heard of Gardein before and looked it up. Their web site describes it as a "sustainable protein brand that delivers the same great taste, texture, and nutrition of meat with no cholesterol, less fat and calories." The similarity in the taste and texture of the chicken strips to real chicken was remarkable. I enjoyed the remaining ingredients, and the buffalo sauce in combination with the jalapeno cheddar wrap delivered a mildly spicy taste that exhuded with warmth. This is my favorite of the two vegan dishes I have tried here so far. My Rating: 5 Stars. LOX AND CREAM CHEESE ON A BAGEL: Served with capers, red onion, and tomato "for a real taste of New York" as it says on their menu. I chose the jalapeno flavored bagel and the jalapeno cream cheese. The bagel was quite large with a texture that shouted with freshness as it sang to my taste buds with the heat of jalapeno. The cream cheese did likewise and was proportioned just right without being overpowering. The lox was divine. Indeed, the flavors of the tomato, red onion, and capers came together nicely for that "taste of New York." My Rating: 5 Stars. THE SO CAL: Smoked turkey, bacon, Muenster, tomato, sprouts, and avocado. This item is listed as one of their Signature Sandwiches, and I chose the jalapeno cheddar wrap for this one. The flavors and textures came through well, and the crunch of the bacon was an enjoyable highlight. My only wish is that I would have preferred a stronger presence of avocado. My Rating: 4.5 Stars. THE GRINDER: Ham, capicola, salami, pepper jack, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pepper relish. This is another one of their Signature Sandwiches, and I chose the sun dried tomato wrap for this one. Overall, I would rate this one as my personal favorite It was profoundly delicious, rich with the flavors and textures of its ingredients. I'll let the photo do the rest of the talking, as I'm running short on space. My Rating: 5 Stars. The counter service I have experienced here has always been warm and friendly. Bagels are generally wonderful with good service. The recent price increase has made this a real deal breaker when buying a dozen. I spent over $30 (with tax) for one tub of plain cream cheese and 12 bagels. There is no discount for bulk. A bagel with cream cheese is $3.60. I woke up too early which is normally bad, but it gave me the chance to have a delicious bagel - which is good. I stopped in at Yorgo's early on a weekday morning. There was a steady stream of people but it never felt too packed. I had the lox everything bagel (toasted). It was really good with the onions and capers added on. It's alright. The focus of ownership is definitely on the quality of the bagels. Prices of bagels is better than places nearby. Everything else is just ok. Service and timeliness is fine as well. It was my first visit to the establishment and the employee who rang up my order was exceptionally terse and irritable; the individual rushed the order ("is that all?" Multiple times) resulting in receipt of an incorrect (simple) order. In most cases I make a minimum of 2 visits before deciding on whether or not I will continue patronage; this instance was so disconcerting I will assuredly not be returning. read more

This is generally my go to quick breakfast or lunch option in Norfolk. For less than I would spend at Panera, you get a much better meal. While I think the bagels are always very good, I have had better. But, they do a great job of putting together great flavors and quality ingredients to make some really tasty lunch and breakfast sandwiches. I usually go with "the grinder", "so cal" or the deli egg depending on my mood, and they have never once let me down. In short, this is a great fast casual option at a good price point! read more

Love the laid back atmosphere and was greeted with the biggest smile - made my morning :) Usually I go for a sweet bagel for breakfast but since I was starving (understatement) I ordered the lox bagel, with herb cream cheese, on an everything bagel (lots of onions, capers and no tomatoes). The bagel was toasted to yumminess perfection. The only reason I'm not giving them a 5 star is because the cream cheese was ALL OVER. I'm a big fan of cream cheese and am considered to our plenty of it in general - so for me to say it was a lot, it was a whole lot! It was falling everywhere every time I took a bite.. Stop the press. Somebody save me. My addiction to Yorgo's Bageldashery is becoming insane. As a young, Jewish lady-unicorn hybrid, I was taught from infancy to appreciate a solid Nova lox and cream cheese. I mean, seriously, I've been pounding bagels into the pavement since the sandbox days. I like to think that because of my fine Jewish roots, I just "get" bagels. Because, essentially, to a Jew: a bagel a day keeps the high cholesterol at bay. SOOOOOOOOOO .... After months of hearing fellow Yelpies and muggles rave on about this place, I decided to finally give in. There's a place called Bagels N' More in VB and Greenbriar has no been blessed with an Einstein Bros. So, thusfar, my bagel addiction has been sufficed by these. After trying Yorgo's, I realized that I was simply "settling" in Bagel-world. This place is every essence of the phrase: THE SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!! The first time I came here, I took my little humunculus, Merlin. Against my better judgement as a parent, I decided to reward him for his five minutes of good behavior by getting him the most sugary thing on the menu: a chocolate chip bagel with chocolate chip cream cheese (I know, I'm a terrible parent). I, however, blessed myself with their Nova lox on an everything with scallion cream cheese. OH.MY.GOD, it was incredible. In-freaking-credible, un-effing-believably good. After my first bite, I had to call my Bubbe to tell her about my find. The bagels here are big, perfect, and fit for shiksas and muggles galore. The lox is incredibly fresh, like what you'd buy for your fambam at a Whole Foods for $30 a slab. Good quality smoked Nemo over at Yorgo's. The scallion cream cheese is PACKED with flavor and, to top it off, they're homemade Middle Eastern Chick Pea soup simply melts away all of your troubles. Yorgo's is definitely not what I'd classify as a "date night joint". No, this is a place where YOU EAT. You sit down, eat your food, and go. The only acceptable extracurriculars here are reading a newspaper or a book. There is a ever-so consistent line here at Yorgo's, so fulfill your eating business and dash. This place is good. Been meaning to try Yorgo's out forever and I'm glad we finally did! We were in Norfolk one Saturday morning & figured it was the perfect time to try their bagels out. The place isn't too big; I noticed it was full though. (Luckily, we snagged a seat.) There was also a long but very fast-moving line to order & pay. My bf had the "everything" bagel with lox flavored cream cheese, and I had a plain bagel, plain cream cheese, and actual LOX on it. Perfectly toasted bagel - soft on the inside, great cream cheese, perfect Lox -just so delicious. I didn't want the bites to end! lol The line was steady the whole time we were there - I could tell lots of locals, regulars, students (lots of them wearing my Alma Mater's sweatshirts), and so many people placing orders to-go. There were even little samples of their brownies up front; yum! I would definitely recommend, and also return when I'm in the Ghent area. Can't wait to try their other goodies. This is a very, very neat find. Went here based on some recommendations from fellow yelpers and was exceptionally glad I did. Went here for breakfast with my wife as this place is exceptionally friendly to vegans, vegetarians, and everything in between. The menu is written above the register and is "slightly" more suited towards the lunch crowd. I ordered the "everything bagel" with cheese, egg, and sausage. My wife ordered relatively the same thing but with the vegetarian sausage option (I can't remember that stuff). One word - wow. I have never been much of a bagel fan but wow... that bagel was absolutely fantastic. I was very shocked on how delicious it was. It had a few hints of salt, but not like a salt lick. Even my wife said that she had many bagels (former Richmonder) and said these were the best she ever had. With regards to the drinks they have - they offer a range from health nut to "just want to spoil myself" drinks. Quite a nice thing to satisfy all the palettes considering the range of clientele I'm sure they get. The facility itself is very humble and "mom/pop-eque". If you're looking for a very simple "lunch date feeler" or a nice small place to get a quick bite to eat, I'd highly suggest coming here.
