After a light meal at the local diner, I spotted Yopop Yogurt. What a truly unique name! Also glad to find one that wasn't called Yogurtland, Pinkberry, and Tutti Frutti. As I am one who loves sweets, of course, I had try this spot out. A generous amount of flavors: Cookies n Cream (no fat) Red Velvet (low fat) Blueberry Chocolate Vanilla Taro and many more I didn't see any wet toppings today. I only saw the dry toppings. The person working was still setting up what needed to be put on. I was a bit disappointed considering I had hoped to add some mango or kiwi on it if they had it. But I did have the dry toppings so I added the yogurt bits, gummy worms, and gummy bears to my smidgen of red velvet and cookies n cream. The person who helped me out was so very nice. She was so prompt with helping me when I looked confused. She explained the info about every flavor. She had a nice smile. It was a pleasant atmosphere. I didn't put that much for fear of having a tummy ache so my total rang up to $2.51. So ended up throwing away the gummy bears and the gummy worms. They weren't sweet. They were hard and the flavor made me want to gag. The yogurt bits didn't have a flavor to judge. It was quite bland. I LOVED THE RED VELVET. They got that one just right so I'm instantly okay with coming back just for that. The cookies and cream melted a bit quickly, but it still was a tasty addition. 3/5

I set up to meet here for a play date with my son and his friends because I was craving for Roti buns. Now that the Honeyberry in WC and Oakland were closed. I'm not about to drive to Milpitas just to get my fix although I thought about it:-). Then come to find out they don't sell the buns anymore because the cream just doesn't hold out very well in the hot weather in the Bay Area. I called the day before but they didn't answer the phone. But it was reassuring to know that they might bring it back in the fall. Yay, fingers crossed!! On the other hand the kids were very excited to get their froyos. They got different flavors and toppings. This shop sells it by weight which to me is a plus rather than price it for each topping the customer wants to get. It's a standard self-serve froyo shop with different stations for different flavors and it has handles for each flavor that you pull down to dispense the froyo. They have big disposable cups and colorful spoons at the counter. The chairs were colorful too. The tables and chairs right outside the shop was also a plus. This froyo shop claims using natural ingredients and it even has the "certificate of natural ingredients" at their website. Very informative website that lists all of their ingredients for each flavor including calories. The main first ingredient listed is pure crystalline fructose. Supposedly better than high fructose corn syrup. But they all came from a wonderful grain called corn. The source of a lot of things we use every day that some people don't know about including ethanol. Some reports on these so called natural ingredients were funded by sugar industries. I guess it's the lesser of two evils; high fructose corn syrup versus crystalline fructose. You'll be the judge. For me, an occasional trip to places like this is a fun activity especially for kids. And this shop rates high to me for that purpose. Beware in parking in front of the shops. They're painted green and they're only good for 30 minutes. They'll tow your car in this shopping center.

I'm only rating the Roti Bun which is all I ever order here. It is amazing!! Get the chocolate or the plain if they're out of chocolate.

I've been on a shaved ice kick recently and decided to drop in and try Ice Monster's coffee shaved ice - and it did not disappoint. It was soft and light and just divine. You order from a tablet at the front, but their service was friendly and helpful when delivering the food, and there is plenty of seating out front. We've also had items delivered a couple times, and they're always well packed and in great condition (not melted) when we receive them. All in all we'll definitely keep ordering from Ice Monster and have been loving their frosty wares!

Absolutely the best way to cool down! I was thrilled to discover Ice Monster in Walnut Creek! Not only can I get an authentic Taiwanese shaved ice, but they have an incredible variety of ice flavors (strawberry, mango, green tea, etc) and toppings. They also have boba tea (which also originated in Taiwan), milk tea, regular ice cream, freshly cooked Chinese finger foods, and more. The place has tables inside and out and is always immaculate. I also really appreciate that they don't add the problem of landfills overflowing with plastics! They use real dishes and real silverware. I don't know of any other place that conscientious. I have been going here for 8 years. It was started by a couple from Taiwan and the owners the last several years are from China. They keep the place open seven days a week, but even with that grueling work schedule, the customer service is always fantastic. They go out of their way to keep their customers happy. Apparently, I'm not the only one who loves the place, because when school gets out, the place is filled with teenagers and families with children. It's a great place to hang out. I've tried other places in the East Bay, but this is my absolute favorite place for Chinese shaved ice, boba tea, and other yummy foods. I can't recommend them highly enough!

It had been a long time since I last visited Humphry Slocombe, so I was excited to come back. I was greeted by the friendly staff, who were super patient and encouraged me to try as many flavors as I wanted. The Toasted Sesame was delicious! It had the perfect amount of sweetness without being overwhelming, and the sesame flavor really stood out. Overall, it was a great way to end the night. I had a cup of the Toasted S'mores - wow. This is good stuff! Easily as good as our favorite ice cream place, Sip n Sweet in Clayton. The location itself is to-go only, but there are a number of outside tables for ice cream consumption, as well as lots of places to sit in the Veranda. I would've loved to try their Vietnamese Coffee ice cream but at that time in the afternoon I was afraid it might affect my sleep. But then a little while later, passing by again, I had the delicious idea of buying a pint of it to eat on my own schedule. Pints are $12. But when I went to pay, I was informed that if I just buy two I get one free! And that's how I ended up walking out with 3 pints of Humphry Slocombe ice cream: Vietnamese Coffee, Peanut Butter Fudge Ripple and Milk and Cookies. My wife loved the Milk and Cookies, and the Vietnamese Coffee is divine. Can't wait to try the last one. Easy five stars for this ice cream!
