So excited we stumbled upon this after a Saturday morning spent at La Fayette reservoir! And definitely well earned after a workout around the park/reservoir! The young lady at the counter was very helpful and we even got to taste samples before picking our desired flavor! I was definitely blown away by their signature tart which took me back to Red Mango's yogurt, and was one of my favorite yogurt spots many many years ago. They charge by the ounce but are super affordable. My go to toppings were available here, and was super ecstatic to top my yogurt with mochi, mini choc chips, and chopped almonds! I would of added strawberries, but unfortunately they looked like they were out for a while. Will def have to stop by again when we're back in the area! read more

Truly a local favorite for all and beyond. I have a friend who lives out of state and meets with me anytime they are in town as this is the best froyo they have ever had. The abundance of outdoor seating in the shopping center is great for people watching. The array of toppings is delightful and the addition of Fenton's ice cream a couple of years ago has made Yogurt Shack a must frequent place. Mediocre, overpriced yogurt, but standard for this type of fill your own container yogurt shop. They have a pretty good flavor/topping selection. The main issue with this place is that they allow dogs inside (which goes against food safety regulations). We saw multiple dogs inside and no employee checked in with the owners or asked them to leave (or sit outside! they literally have outside seating). I understand they can't control how dog owners' entitlement to walk in the store but they CAN and should enforce a no dogs policy in the seating area. It's disgusting to have a long haired dog smack their tail against your table while you're trying to eat. Especially since the seating is cramped. read more

This is one of our hometown gems in Lafayette! The flavors are always spot on, the toppings are very fresh and the place is VERY clean. What really makes it special is the staff. The mostly H.S. age staff are so accommodating and helpful. They are so sweet! Last night when I couldn't make up my mind between cake batter and coffee flavor. The one girl let me try a sample of each while the other girl suggested that I could get both (!). So I did just that, and topped it with brownie bites and caramel sauce! YUM! Yogurt Shack might be one of my favorite frozen yogurt joints in the Bay Area for its consistently creamy self-serve frozen yogurt. My favorite flavor here by far is Caribbean Coffee, which had a light, airy, fluffy texture and a nice coffee flavor. The Cookies N Cream was another hit, as was the refreshing Signature Tart. The toppings bar was plentiful as well, with a wide selection of nuts, crushed cookies, fruit, and sauces. It's probably the best frozen yogurt place I have literally ever tried. Similar pricing to Yogurtland, Menchies, and Berry Delight, but much better in flavor and creaminess, when comparing signature tart flavor, my personal favorite and go-to flavor for all froyo places. Also much cheaper than Pinkberry and on the same quality tier. It's 68 cents per ounce. Also the nearest Pinkberry is like an hour away. I usually just get tart with mochi and maybe strawberries. The place is clean and nice, and the people are friendly. They play good music. Well I am a Swiftie so perhaps I'm biased since I usually hear Taylor Swift playing here. I think many of the employees are local high schoolers from Acalanes, Campolindo, Miramonte, etc. I didn't bother trying it until I started attending Saint Mary's College and trying this location despite living very close to their original Danville location for over a decade. I highly recommend this place over any other frozen yogurt places in the area, and perhaps even in the world, as far as I know! It's the perfect summer treat! Signature tart has to be my favorite flavor but the dole whip is good too. I have not tried their other flavors since I generally don't like sweet flavors that aren't sour which are typically ice cream flavors (such as vanilla or chocolate) as froyo but I have heard they are good too! read more

This was our first time coming here and we were curious to see how it would be during Covid-19. There's a sandwich board sign out front with the flavors, paper listing all the toppings/prices on the windows, and a large window that opens up for curbside pickup/take out. The three sizes that they are currently offering are Small ($4), Medium ($6), and Large ($8). Small/Medium sizes come with 2 toppings and the Large comes with 3 toppings -- extra toppings are $0.50. The yogurt and toppings are served in individually packed containers and you get a full serving of toppings. We ordered the Small and got the Watermelon + Cookies and Cream with Mochi and Almond toppings. The Watermelon flavor was the standout as it was the perfect blend of tart and sweetness. During non-COVID times, they operate where you self-serve your frozen yogurt and toppings. They recently added Fenton's ice cream to their menu. Yogurt Shack offers a range of toppings, such as candy, chocolate, sprinkles, and fruit, as well as sauces and granola. Their frozen yogurt flavors change seasonally. I recommend that they replace their plastic non-recyclable spoons with compostable ones and that they add a compost receptacle rather than sending all single-use waste to the landfill. This is a high 2 stars, but I just can't bring myself to offer 3. Yogurt is delicious, no complaints, and the girl behind the counter was polite. But the prices, dear Lord the prices! Make sure you go to Chase across the street and qualify for a second mortgage before coming here. $20 for two yogurts! That's twice as expensive as expensive yogurt! No wonder the place was empty. I wouldn't stop in here again if I was a baby cow and I needed it for the dairy. I mean the store is basically thrown together like little more than a hobby, and they come up with those prices. I'm literally obsessed with this place. Anytime I'm mildly inconvenienced I need frozen yogurt or iced coffee to emotionally decompress lol, this is my go to spot to get my sugar fix. I was taking a drive on Sunday night and saw that there was a yogurt place in this plaza next to Whole Foods. I'm from Concord but I've never been to the yogurt shack before but decided to stop by even though it was a cold winters night. They had the correct Covid protocols in place. I got a small coffee yogurt with Heath bar and cookie dough (fresh! which is hard to find). I thought the yogurt and the toppings tasted great especially the cookie dough and I'll definitely be back to support the small business. I read from some of the other reviews that the prices have gone up but please understand that during these times it's been very difficult for small business owners. The least we can do is help out everyone in our community by a little bit and this little place has great yogurt. read more
