"Coco Swirl" is a nice little frozen yogurt shop in Pleasant Hill. It was a warm day, and I had a need for something cold. Using the Yelp app as a search engine, I found Coco Swirl. It has a simple layout, with five fro-yo machines, one size of cup, basic toppings and some tables inside. Price per Ounce: 80 cents They allow sampling. I took a serving of Irish Mint, Chocolate/ Vanilla, and Coconut. Added some Lychee Jelly and some Jelly Balls. It was good, but I miss the tart and fruity flavors like Pineapple, Mango and Passion fruit. Service was prompt and friendly. They also offer teas, milk tea, and Redbull Infusion. I was told that Coco Swirl is an independent store, and isn't part of a chain. I would definitely return if I'm in the area. read more

My one star review is because of store hours. I drove 30 minutes with 5 other people to enjoy a coco swirl on my night off. Turns out the store is closed at 8:38pm when google and iPhone gps says they close at 9pm. The girl who came to the door after she saw us outside said they were closed and that she didn't know why it said online that they close at 9pm that probably those were summer hours. If those are simmer hours hours must be updated immediately since there's people like us that drive a long way to get here to enjoy a yogurt on a night off and getting there and the place off is a disappointment and inconvenient since we came from a long distance. read more

First time visiting and will definitely be back! The girl working there was very nice, welcoming every single person that walked in and asked each of them how they were doing at checkout. There are usually 2-3 machines broken (no vanilla - really?), messy dining area and uninspired customer service. Went there today to get fro yo. All of the yogurts were melty except for the peanut butter flavor. When I asked the young gal that works there if there was an issue with their machines she replied "I don't know I just got here" I guess that explains why the floors were filthy, looking like they hadn't been mopped in awhile and messy around the dispensers. If this was my business I'd be on my employees and working in customer service I was always told to never reply back to a customer that has a concern "I just got here" meaning you don't want to make things right bc you are lazy. Can we just talk about Coco Swirl here for a minute? I just love this place. I frequent this shop often with my kids and noticed some transition happening over the last few weeks. It's clean, the machines were all working, the toppings were clean and the fruit looked fresh. They always have a rotating list of options which i love, but they always have the tried and true flavors. One thing I alway appreciate about this establishment is they always have well marked dairy free options for my allergy kiddo. I went in there the other day and found out they are now under new ownership. The new owner was so sweet, and even better is a member of the Pleasant Hill community. I love that we can now go to our favorite establishment and support a local small business owner. So skip out on the chains, and check out this little shop in downtown Pleasant Hill. If you don't care about not having any fruit on your yogurt then this is your spot . Every time we go , at different times of the day , they never have any fruit. I always ask them if they have any more strawberries etc and they say no they ran out. Once they ran out at 2pm. Strange. A few times we waited about 10 min for an employee to come back from lunch so we just sat there in the shop waiting. I hope one day they either plan better with their fruit or make sure employees are not too "busy" to cut up fruit. After reading the owners reply , I will definitely give it another shot and try it again soon! read more

The teen and I decided we needed a cool treat in this 1,000,000° weather so we opted for froyo. Glad we did, we both had a taste for euro tart, but I added a little blackberry to mine and all I can say is yummmm! She had some gummy worms to top hers off and I some crushed Reesie's cups. It definitely hit the spot, and Bella's customer service skills were great. The only thing I'm sad about is I already ate it and I forgot to take a picture of it, but that just gives me an excuse to go back for more! I'm giving this place four yumms up!! read more

This is my favorite place in Pleasant Hill for a sweet treat. They have a great variety of flavors and toppings, and since you serve yourself, you can mix and match however much or little you want. First time having frozen yogurt and this place didn't disappoint! I was happy that you are able to make your own portion size, since I'd never tried it. I went with a classic vanilla then loaded up with fresh fruit and of course a little sweet treat! It was so good. My husband did the opposite of me and mixed a few different yogurt flavors and then topped with all the goodness. The new owners of Coco Swirl have really outdone themselves. The shop smells amazing, has super cool art pieces, and now a claw machine?!? My kids go nuts over it every time we come! My favorite improvement is the yogurt itself. They've started to add gelato style to the machines... all I can say is OMG!! It's so thick and creamy. Alot of unique seasonal flavors like hazelnut Gelato. I like to go for the dole pineapple flavors to pretend I'm in Disneyland since the ticket prices are too expensive. The place has been around since my middle school years in 2013. It's nice that the place is still open. Service: it's okay with local highschoolers working there most of the time. Ambiance: the topping section is messy with the rotator machines. I'm an adult and I still make a mess depending how much yogurt I have in my cup. Heard this location had a new owner so decided to take the kids for a little treat and check it out. WOW....that's all I really need to say! The smell of fresh baked cookies the moment I walked in, had me wanting a treat of my own. Also happy to report that finally, ALL MACHINES were working properly. Don't recommend the boba drinks at all. Today we got a Thai tea with boba and it was more than 1/2 full of ice, unmixed and powdery, and the boba wasn't strained so had an almost gelatin texture. We didn't get the yogurt today because there was a group letting their dog lick the yogurt as they were making their cups.... Not a great experience. But the staff was nice?? PINEAPPLE DOLE WHIP FTW!!! I add lychee, popping boba, fresh strawberries & blueberries, and coconut on top! So friggin bomb. Also the vanilla (not the tart but the regular) is sooo goood. The boyfriend and I went to CoCo Swirl in Concord, Ca on 07/13/2019. He grew up in the area as a little boy and wanted to take me to his childhood Fro-yo spot since I'm all about Fro-yo. It was empty when we arrived and I love the decor and color. I scanned the Fro-yo flavors in which they had a lot of unique flavors that traditional like name brand places do not have. The flavor I liked was the Açaí which was delicious. Their tart taste like Menchies so I happy camper as you can see my creation in the pictures. All the flavors were pretty delicious. The toppings are similar to other fro-yo places. The fro-yo tasted like they used fresh ingredients and it was delicious. My bae and I always manage to beat the rush at any place that we go to as this place filled up quick. We ate our fro-yo outside which was such a lovely day. I definitely like this place but nothing can out beat my favorite place Menchies. The outside is beautiful mixed with shops and restaurants. There is a beautiful shaded area with a water foundation which we ate our ice cream on. If you are in the area it is a great place to stop by and get a yummy treat. We left happy campers! read more

The cutest little fro-yo shop! Coco swirl is nestled in downtown Pleasant Hill in Crescent Plaza right across the street from Sweet Tomatoes. I usually frequent another yogurt place in Pleasant Hill that's closer to me, but I like to come here when I'm in the area. The shop is always bright, clean, and inviting. The yogurt is really tasty and I like the variety of flavors that they carry. They usually stock about 10 different rotating fro-yo flavors that they will allow you to sample. I've never been a big fan of shops that prepare the samples for you (they do this here). However, all of the staff members that I've encountered have been friendly and courteous. I've never felt rushed and they are always happy to assist me. The price per ounce is often cheaper than other fro-yo shops in the area which is a plus. What I love about Coco Swirl is that not only do they are offer frozen yogurt, but they also have ice cream, donut ice cream sandwiches, and boba milk tea! I've never tried their ice cream donut ice cream sandwiches, but I have had their milk tea and it was actually pretty tasty. I wouldn't come here expecting gourmet milk tea, but it's a nice place to stop for a quick fix. Speaking of quick; I have never had to wait in a long line when I've come here. Not sure if I've just been coming at the right times, but this place doesn't seem to get line out the door busy. I will admit that I don't usually come here that often in the summer time though. I'm that weirdo that likes to eat yogurt year around, but especially during the cold months! Yep, that's me! We were deciding between two eateries, and ended up choosing this one because we were craving something fresh over cream. The interior is small but there are bar chairs along one side of the wall and more tables outside. The cashier appeared when we walked in, but when a customer approached the desk, the staff popped from the back. We ordered two things: boba tea and a tub of frozen yogurt. I wanted to drink something refreshing, so I decided to try their teas. Their tea ordering style was different because in the ordering steps, it included 'adding flavor syrups' that included fruits and sweet flavors. I'm the type who prefers having tea as tea (also prefers buying tea leaves without necessary flavors), so I skipped that step. Jumping to the yogurt first. The frozen yogurt was like any other yogurt place. My favorite is the original, and the original turned out to be the best flavor (but this is my bias). Their original frozen yogurt is creamier and had less tart. It paired well with the toppings we added. Speaking of toppings, I highly recommend the mochi. This topping stood out of the rest and the preceding mochi toppings I've tried at past frozen yogurt places. The texture was tender soft and also chewy. Even in the cold yogurt, the softness remained. I would come back to eat this mochi topping. Onto the tea. I would say, I don't recommend the jasmine green tea. It tasted as though the tea was oversteeped, so there was a dark bitter bite after a sip. Despite the oversteepness, the drink lacked tea flavor, I tasted more water--with a bitter bite. This was, by far, the worst frozen yogurt I've ever had. I took my brother and we both got chocolate and vanilla swirl with a few toppings. The yogurt didn't have much flavor and the flavor that it did have was off. There were some little gnats circling the cheesecake bites, which was also off putting. My brother got halfway through his and then threw it out (which never happens, he has a very healthy appetite). I finished mine because I was starving, but it left an odd after taste in my mouth.
