Kind of confusing since this is the coffee service within The Daily (rebranded from The Daily Beer). They started off with basic single origin coffees but have expanded into making more of their own syrups and original coffee drinks. The atmosphere is very casual and friendly -- mix of locals and college students. They also usually have a selection of donuts and baked goods. And of course you can also order beer, wine and food from the Daily -- all from the same counter. Nice friendly spot and worth a visit. read more

I went in with my service dog. The barista did not seem to be aware of any legal protections surrounding service dogs. I checked in with her, asked her if she knew the two legal questions. She didn't, so I told her what she could legally ask service dog handlers, and what appropriate answers would be. She said she wanted to accommodate me, and they had outdoor seating. I told her again he is a service dog. She said she knew, but without much tact checked in with her manager. If you don't know the law, at least be kind and don't suggest I sit outside in 45 degree weather. Her manager said it was fine for me to stay inside, but at that point I decided I could spend my money elsewhere. Staff should be educated on disability laws, and if they aren't educated, at least have customer service skills that don't belittle patrons. read more

Staff is very friendly and a really cool space/ vibe to bring your laptop and work. It's open to the store as well for a little browsing. Some of the coffee specials are interesting. I chose a maple miso cappuccino which was surprisingly good. It was a little too sweet for my taste but he flavors were innovative and worth trying. read more

The staff are rude and racist. It's a reason why you only see a certain type of customer when you walk in. Tried them twice thinking the staff member that helped me the first time was having an off day, no went back still got bad customer service. Both times I was questioned about my order and preference of how I prefer my coffee, as if non-white people don't drink coffee. Not only is the staff rude, it is high priced and the food and drinks are disgusting. Would give them zero stars if I could. read more

Hidden gem in Durham, the front entrance is unassuming and it's better like this. I found this place on the Zine called Hyperlocal and their zines are for sale here. I've been working downtown for months and I can't believe this place was next to m'y job and I had no idea. It's been a while since the last time I found a good coffee shop. The concept is really unique, the fact that there's 2 businesses in one brings in customers day & night. For coffee lovers, they keep a variety of coffee from many different roasters on rotation. We took a bag of coffee from Thaïland called Hai and we missed one from Berlin that sold out quickly. We were there twice in one week and that shows how much we enjoyed it. During our first visit we got a flight specialty coffee from 3 different roasters each with a different profile and a card explaining the origins, notes and information about the roaster. Also, we got a croissant sandwich and an avocado toast which were really good. Most recently, we tried there seasonal Tiramisu Iced Coffee. We were impressed by the rich creamy foam on the top with a lady finger to dip. Friendly knowledgeable staff. The space is large and cosy at the same time, definitely a place where we will be back often because of the good energy and many more reasons. Sometimes they put good Jazz music on. read more

We moved here recently and decided to try as many coffee shops as possible. This one is a keeper! Matcha latte was high quality (from Uji, Japan, none of that pre-sweetened stuff) and so was the regular iced latte. Ham and cheese croissant was solid as well. They have outdoor seating + a good amount of indoor seating, with a cozy exposed brick vibe. Service was great, too! read more

Stumbled across Yonder accidentally thinking it was Yonderlust and was so happy I did - this place has a great vibe (really good for work-focus) in addition to tasty, well done lattes and cortados! The folks behind the counter were warm and pleasantly chatty. There were also a couple GF snack options (9th street bakery oat balls!). Looking forward to visiting again. What a gem. read more

So I found this coffee shop last summer and fell in love with it. I loved the decor, and they make really yummy matcha. I liked it so much that I have brought friends to it, as recently as last week. Unfortunately on my most recent visit, I felt like I was treated poorly, and I left feeling very embarrassed and hurt. I sat down for a few to charge my phone and decompress after a disappointing day, and an owner came over to me and insisted I buy something "because seating was only for patrons". As a woman of color in a predominantly white space I felt so uncomfortable that I quickly ordered a tea that I couldn't really afford. (I had spent quite a bit of my dispensable income there in the past few days.) I felt so embarrassed that I took my drink to go. (Never mind that I was a regular, and had spent almost $50 in there in the past week AND invited a friend to come experience the place.) I'm not too sure I will be back. read more
