My partner and I have been to Vu three times (four manicures.) Over those three appointments, not one has started on time, each time Vu has been at least fifteen minutes behind. The two Gel manicures my partner received came out beautifully, so if you're not on a time crunch and that is all you are looking for, you will walk out happy. My first visit was a fill, as the integrity of my previous Gel-X was maintained, and overall both the fill, shaping, and nail are were satisfactory. I needed a new set on this visit, and things went downhill quickly. I pointed out that numerous nails were too narrow, and it was shrugged off (some builder gel was placed on the sides, but nothing further.) He then tried to push acrylic on me, and laughed when I expressed that acrylic does not work for me, and I had not previously had issues with Gel-X over nearly two years. I would have walked out if I had the option. As a result, not a single pair of fingers is consistent (as pictured,) the "stiletto" tips are not centered, the shaping is horribly unflattering on my hands, not one nail has a proper apex due to the initial application being significantly longer than the length I expressed I would want. The "cat-eye" I paid additional for is barely noticeable. At least the color itself is pretty. Back to the drawing board, as my quest for a competent apres gel-x tech in the area now continues. read more

Vu kills it everytime. He is super meticulous and takes his time to make all nails look identical in shape and length. He is great with designs too! They always have pretty good music going on and never too loud. Parking can be limited in the back but street parking is kind of plentiful every time I've gone here. I will never go elsewhere because Vu is a perfectionist who never rushes his clients, never has days where the quality suffers. I have had nail technicians in the past that are constantly answering the phone, know that I won't complain and totally take advantage of that. Usually, it's good quality initially then dwindles as time passes. This lifted broken is not the case with Vu. I would pay any amount he asked for, although he is also cheaper than most places. Being a loyal, accommodating, and friendly customer is not the customer Nancy at Yolo Beauté is looking for. It's so disappointing to say that I won't be returning due to bad customer service from Nancy. I always booked my appointments weeks in advance and always showed up 10 minutes early. The one time my car breaks down, and I'm physically unable to get in my vehicle, is when I cancel a nail appointment that I always look forward to. I got my nails done there for around five months and never had any issues. Sure, Nancy, the woman that coordinates the appointments, is not the friendliest, but who cares because I loved the way Vu did my nails! Unfortunately, Nancy, the woman who does lashes, doesn't know the value and doesn't give back respect to her customers. Just like everyone else, I work hard for my money. And for most, getting their nails done is a relaxing treatment, some short time away from your busy day to do something nice for yourself. I'm very displeased by the customer service provided by Yolo Beauté. Nancy has never been kind and welcoming to me in person, as she has seen me many times. I've gone to Vu twice now when I've wanted to treat myself to extra pretty nails and have been thrilled both times. He takes his time and makes sure the nail shape is perfect. I enjoy the quiet time with no small talk. He shows lots of options for the acrylic base tone and design colors. I've walked in with an inspo photo both times and was able to customize it to exactly what I was looking for. Just got my nails done by Vu. Best nails I've ever had! This was my first visit, and I plan on coming back. I previously had my nails done in another state for my wedding. I wish I found Vu sooner. He fixed my nails and filled them in with neutral pink powder and then went over it with a gel coat. He changed my nail shape per my request. I love the shape of my nails (coffin type shape)! He evened them out so they were smooth, and dainty. I love how the tips dip in ever so slightly. He really took his time and I really appreciate that. Vu is very talented! I came in with really bulky acrylic nails that someone from another salon did and I did not like them at all. Vu took the time to correct the nail shape and thickness and they came out perfect! It took me a long time to find a nail technician that I am super happy with in the tri-valley and I'm sure Vu is it! I love how my acrylic nails turned out. Vu is really gentle and he has superb attention to detail. He carefully spread out the glitter decals in a very natural way. He checks every angle to make sure everything's smooth and doesn't skip any steps, while other salons seem to rush my nails. No matter how thick I want my eyelashes look it always feels like I'm putting nothing in my eyelashes. And I've never had any problems with my real eyelashes after which is very important. I have had other people do my eyelashes but it ended up either leaving uncomfortable feeling in my eyes or my real lashes falling off. They last for awhile too. It always takes at least one month before I have to do touch up. She recently opened her own salon in Pleasanton. It has such a cute and relaxing decorations. I get both my nails and eyelashes done at Yolo. The quality of these services here are so much higher than what I've found in the surrounding area! Nails: The gel manicures last longer than any I've had elsewhere, and that alone is worth the price. But Vu takes his time, and is so meticulous - my nails look absolutely flawless every time. He really takes care to shape your nails. I've also had hand painted designs done by him in the past, and been very impressed with his skills. Eyelashes: Nancy is AMAZING. She is super gentle, I love the natural look of the lashes she uses and 'm always impressed by their lasting power! I'm pretty rough on my lashes (hot showers & active/sweaty lifestyle) so I'm used to seeing major fall out after a week - but that is not the case with my lashes from Yolo. I treated myself to a spa day here. Full set acrylics & pedicure by Vu, and got my lashes done with Nancy. I'm a proponent of: good things take time, and you get what you pay for. I came here with the expectation that I would receive a higher quality of service than the larger salons where they try to get you in and out of the chairs as quickly as possible for obvious reasons. Vu and Nancy work efficiently but they will not rush the job because ultimately, they pride themselves on quality. Quality service is what I got and I'm happy to pay a little premium for it because, I know the time and money spent there was worth my investment. I noticed some reviews commented on their cancellation policy; Their cancellation policy is justified. They're a two person boutique; So if half of the clients in a given day had emergencies, Nancy and Vu might not recover the loss of time. Put simply, time is money. If you're looking for more flexibility on last minute scheduling/cancellations, you should go to a larger salon, but you might compromise on the quality and consistency of service. From what I experienced at Yolo Beaute, I look forward to returning and giving them my business. read more

I was coughing several times throughout the process and she offered me water, was so patient with me, and just so sweet.
