From the moment we walked in, the hostesses and manager made us feel welcome and had us seated right away. Our server, Angel, was fantastic. He walked us through the menu, explained how many of the dishes were prepared, and made thoughtful recommendations without ever feeling pushy. We started with the octopus and fresh focaccia with honey. The octopus was exceptional--easily one of the best I've had and on par with dishes I've enjoyed at Michelin-starred and James Beard-recognized restaurants. We also shared the beet and goat cheese salad, followed by the local snapper and the ribeye cap topped with lobster claw and tail in chimichurri. Every dish was beautifully prepared and showcased the quality of the ingredients. The cocktails were well balanced (not overloaded with ice), and the Thyme on Thyme is an easy recommendation if you're looking for something light and refreshing. The wine list paired nicely with the meal as well. Watching the sunset over the water while listening to music drifting across the park made the evening even more memorable. The cozy atmosphere lives up to the farm to table vibe they're going for. The Verdict: The Local delivers a decent lunch with good service and fresh ingredients. We viewed all of the produce and various products for sale in the stores and food stands within the grand venue where food is sold from Seed ( farm ) to Table. There is a huge Wine section where wine from all over the world is for sale. There is a Bakery , Candy , grocery store. You name it , this place has it. My friend was impressed at the size of the place and that there are restaurants, stores , and even a Stage where a Band plays music on weekends and is open until 2:00 a. m. After a walk around tour of the place we went to the second floor restaurant section to grab some dinner. We both ordered the Smash Burger with fries. We were both sated when we left the premises. The Smash Burger is HUGE ! But wait , the boyz in the Band were just showing up, getting ready to take the stage and play some music. The bartender confirms that martinis are not on happy hour then explains that the additional surcharge is because a Cosmo has a splash of cranberry juice, so it's martini price plus. Never heard this before. I cheaped out and ordered a house pinot grigio. Regarding food, the visit a year ago was profoundly disappointing. That entree was described as pasta with a lobster tail. I expected to see a lobster tail but there were just a couple of very tiny pieces of supposed lobster tail that must have come from a just hatched lobster. Thankfully, the food served a few days ago was much better. The American Redfish entree was good enough to order again, if I were ever to go back.

Parking was a bit of a cluster, both dropping off the car and getting it back. We had a nice evening overall, and would return.
