I have practiced this amazing yoga sequence in Long Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach. I love everything about Bikram - the heat, the postures, the discipline, the meditative aspect. When I moved to Carlsbad, I was really excited that there were two studios so close. I have purchased packages 3 different times and just yesterday purchased a one month pass so that I could "begin again". Two minutes into the 4:45 class, I was reminded why I never come to this studio...First, the class started 10 minutes late (did he forget the Bikram discipline???) Then during the first breathing exercise, he left the room to let someone come in (really late) During the whole class, he spoke so fast I thought he was trying to sell me something at the County Fair (think Auctioneer) His incessant chatter was distracting and stressful, he sped through the postures so fast I could not understand anything he said. Between postures, he read ads about what is coming up at the studio...(?) and during the transition between standing and floor, he read a passage from a book about I am not sure what because he talked so fast I could not understand a word he said - main point - he was chattering during that all-important savasana (which is meant to give way to peaceful and relaxed stillness). Practicing this yoga is supposed to be a mental and spiritual mission - how can we practice when the instructor is so disengaged??... I have taken classes from a few instructors at this studio, both in Oside and Encinitas, and I have rarely left feeling the way I felt leaving other studios. I have seen cell phones, heard singing (?) clapping, jokes (?) These are fine for other yoga practices, I suppose, but Bikram is supposed to be a cut above, a discipline, a way of life - not at all what is practiced at this studio. I am really happy that soon there will be a new owner (finally!) - hopefully he will either fire everyone and start from scratch or make his instructors take the Bikram teacher training again - clearly, there is not a single one who follows that discipline. read more

The location is great, right off Seagaze and Ditmar - Just off the 5 and Mission Ave. The studio itself is nice and always clean. The staff is great. Each instructor has their own style, however they must all follow Bikram's routine of the 26 asana's (poses). This 90 minute class is always a great workout for beginners and advanced students alike. Bring a beach towel, yoga mat and water. If you don't have a mat, you can rent one for $1. If you forgot your water, you can buy a bottle for $1 too. I highly recommend bringing your own mat. You will sweat A LOT! There are clean showers available incase you have a hot date to get ready for afterward or if you just don't want to drive home smelling your own sweat. Maybe you like the smell of your own sweat, who knows? Bikram yoga is intense! The room is heated, about 90+. The workout is a combination of cardio, resistance and stretching all through a series of 26 asanas that literally wring out toxins from your internal organs! You will build long lean muscle and improve flexibility. Prepare to be at war with yourself! This will be a test of your will and strength. Mind over matter. I used to attend classes twice a week, religiously. When I attended regularly I was in the best shape of my life! I just recently went back and I'm so glad that I did. You will walk out of class feeling amazing! One of the best parts about it all is that the studio is walking distance to the beach, so in the Summer time you can walk down to the beach after class and take a dip in the ocean! So rejuvenating! I love it :) Classes are reasonably priced. I just spent $85 for 10 classes and it's so worth it! Your ass will will be smoking hot after after a few weeks of attending just twice a week! My first bikram experience and sadly, I didn't like the facility and the instructor. I believe her name is Helen. She knew it was my first time and she didn't really give me any heads-up as to what to do when you're not feeling well and/of you want to take a break. I've done heated yoga before and I must say, sol yoga did a much better job explaining that so that you would know exactly what to expect. Plus she wasn't very encouraging at all. Arg. I'm still motivated to want to like bikram so I'll just look somewhere else. read more

While the yoga studio was nice and the prices were great, I did not like how the instructors run the class. I've been to many hot yoga studios and this was the first time I have ever heard an instructor say "don't drink water till we tell you when" in such a hot studio people should be free to drink water when their body needs it! It's not safe. My mom went with me and I saw she was turning this pale color and I whispered to her to take some air and drink water - they made her come back in and told me that I can't talk EVEN when I noticed my mom looking that way. As a nurse I would never go there again. It's not a relaxed environment at all and they don't think of safety. The first thing instructora say in hot yoga studios in San Diego are "if it gets too hot take a break and make sure you drink tons of water" read more

I like Yoga Wild the inside itself is bright with lots of colors, the staff is friendly and the teachers are good.  If you take the same class with every teacher you will learn a new way of relating to each pose or work out instruction. It has heated, non-heated, and kid yoga classes as well as Pilates. I believe it is money well spent and a good way to work out without being alone or actively participating in large groups. There is a lot of music too which I like. If you're a bit of a loner and hesitant to get out I would recommend trying it, but don't just take one class I would give it a month at least. read more

This place is the real deal! I play baseball professionally and every season and offseason my goal is to strengthen my core and increase my flexibility. After one week of classes switching off from hot yoga to inferno Pilates each day I have noticed how the weaknesses in my core: glutes, quads, hammys, and abs, have started to become stronger! I also always have knots and muscle fatigue from strength training every morning and with the yoga so far I've gotten rid of the nots and my body is never sore! And trust me I stretch for half an hour before every lift.. The women and men that lead the classes are amazing they know each persons name and they really care about getting you results! I liked the feel of the place, and the yoga instructors and receptionist were very nice. I only went once because, well.. it's HOT. I thought I could handle 90 minutes of yoga in the heat because regular yoga is fun... so why not try this? holy moly. I lasted 45 minutes, and had to bounce. I was spinning, and seeing stars. I felt like a fish out of water. I think they realize that it's hard to stay cause if you pay for their first class, you get a second one free. No thank you. like I said, I am a huge wuss.. and could not deal with the 105 degree room with smelly/sweaty people who are a ton better at this that me. If you wanna try, all the power to ya... it's only 10 bucks to sweat your butt off and really test your sense of smell and see how much water you can drink, have at it. If you're not a novice at yoga, I'd suggest going to a regular yoga session first. good luck!! read more

I am new to this studio having just done 5 classes and I love it! They have infrared heating in the studio which feels amazing. Have been looking for a hot yoga studio that facilitates the 26/2 postures in an hour vs 90 min and I found home!! (They also offer the 90min I am just not ready for that yet) So far I have taken class with 3 teachers and all are super clear in their instruction. The owner is super friendly and warm and this place feels like they care about their students. The facility is super clean, locker rooms and studio etc. I also really like that they lock the locker rooms during class and that they have filtered water available for free. I'm super happy! Lastly I really appreciate the low key vibe here and I feel really comfortable (not intimidated) coming back to yoga after taking a 12 year break. read more

I've been frequenting this place for several months now. A really good mix of instructors that all offer slightly different styles that keep you learning and improving poses and mindset as you go. I've never been to a session and not learned something new to improve my experience. The place is friendly to beginners and beyond, I'd never tried anything related to yoga prior to attending. Word to the wise, bring a good amount of water, don't eat a lot prior to class but don't starve either you need some fuel to burn. Proteins etc work for me. I really like the fact you see all ages, shapes and sizes attending working to better their mind and body. I cannot speak highly enough about practicing yoga, especially Bikram. The place is pretty nice, my only complaint is the fluorescent lighting can be pretty intense in the evening classes (maybe I'm more sensitive to this than others). You look at the ceiling a lot between and during poses and if your under one of those bad boys it can be uncomfortable. That's about all I can say is keeping me from a five star rating. The location is nice (near the beach), parking lot is small, but there is street parking. The studio does provide mats, water, and snacks for purchase. The classes are packed, even in the evenings during the week, so get there early! The instructors are helpful. read more

I love this studio! They offer so many different classes.. The Hot Pilates is a must! What an amazing work out! Also the Yoga classes are so amazing , the instructor are so knowledgeable , I'm so happy they expanded and have another studio,I took the Yin Yoga, because I've had an injury on my shoulder and neck, and I felt like doing the restorative Yoga has been the only thing that has giving me relief. great work out for all ages. Don't eat for a few hours before you go, maybe a small snack. Be ready to sweat and drink lots of water, make sure your intake is consistent for at least 24 hours before you go. I made it 32 days straight a while back and I noticed my body was accepting the changes (flexibility and demands of the workout). With all the sweating your skin gets very clear and clean and you tend to smell less in general when sweating. If you really look at the packages you can get the most value based on your schedule and needs along with access to both the Oceanside and Encinitas studios. The 4:30 class is popular (show up early) if you can go to the 6am or other times these classes are not as full. read more

Why? - Doesn't smell like a moldy sock inside someone's armpit when you walk in the torture chamber. - Chillwave-riding instructors (all the time...never do they have a grumpy day). - Potties that are kept nice and clean. - SNAZZY value! I am not a fan of yelp... but as one of the only platforms available to sing my praise publicly for a place that has become a second home, I will oblige to the ways of the inter web and give you all a piece of my mind! This place has been a saving grace. 3 days before my first visit to the studio I was hospitalized and unable to walk due to debilitating back cramps and sciatica nerve issues. After 2 weeks of practice the pain in my back was subsiding and after 2 months I have absolutely no back pain and am sleeping and functioning better than ever. The mental clarity I have attained through daily practice can't be overlooked either. In a time where we can all benefit from a little more presence and awareness, the teachers do their part in grounding us to the present moment. Vineetha has a motherly way of pushing you into the depths of your poses and Justin and Irma have taken me to places in my poses I thought id never reach. Truly inspiring people. The Tuesday morning power flow with Aileen is an athletes dream of a class and Thursday mornings with the new teacher Rebecca is one of the most beautiful morning practices I've ever had the privilege of participating in. I highly recommend Yoga Wild! The Hot Pilates class is fun, enthusiastic, and body changing! I haven't taken any of the yoga classes, but I am adding the 90min Bikram class to my practice this week. If I could give more stars I would! What a great little yoga studio! I've never done yoga before and figured it was about darn time I did. I like to think I'm health minded and the added benefits of a 90 degree room while doing yoga helped pull me in to this place. (along with the stellar yelp reviews). WOW what a loooong 90 minutes! The first 60 went by pretty quickly as I was focusing on getting the poses right, the last 30 were a struggle. It kicked my butt but my body isn't pained the day after like with a lot of exercises. The instructor is so nice and wonderful and kept me smiling. I heard they had showers but honestly I didn't trust it.. something about gym showers seems grodey. I snuck a peak after class and they were really nice! I wish I brought a change of clothes because I would have loved to rinse off all that sweat! Honestly, being such a novice at yoga I thought I would be overwhelmed, unable to finish the class, and never want to come back. Make sure to pay for any specials in person because I shortchanged myself by not buying the week pass for $25. I tried to call several times but never talked to anyone over the phone. I didn't know silent yoga could be so energizing! Wow! The 4:45p 90 min silent session is a restorative and meditative experience that truly gives you time to check in with yourself and mat. The session, well attended, is harmonized and hot. Intuitive and knowledgeable instructor, Dav, has a natural connectedness with the silent flow of this session and with very little interruption will keep you on course, strengthening in every stretch. I highly recommend this session! I first learned about Just Hot Yoga and Pilates in July 2017. My first 90 min sesh was with Dav in O'side and I've been a member ever since! He's the best! read more

I understand that Bikram yoga is about self motivation and not about people pleasing. That being said, I love the yoga and have been doing it since 2007. I've done it all over Australia, the US and in some locations in Europe. The Pros: some of the instructors are truly and absolutely wonderful, professional, warm and courteous (Hilary, Candace, Seven, Claudia). The studio is ok in terms of cleanliness and general amenities. My experience has consisted of the following things: Michael. I have no words. Initially I appreciated your teaching style because it seemed light hearted and not ego driven. I brought my family member who had been through a lot both physically and emotionally and was looking to do yoga, first and foremost for herself. You started fixating on her during class- even to the point where other students noted this inappropriate behavior. Furthermore, you totally destroyed her morale, made her feel that she was the most terrible student in the class because she couldn't go as deep into postures (as a true beginner) and what is most appalling to me- you really damaged her practice by shifting her mindset from compassion to competition. Ego does not have a rightful place in yoga. From a physiological standpoint I am shocked that a teacher would potentially push a beginner student to a point where bodily injury might occur. And you did this. I haven't ever experienced this during my classes; particularly not with beginners. Secondly, Suzanne. I personally disliked this teaching style because there was absolutely no pause in her dialogue. Not Bikram dialogue- just a constant stream of words. It felt as though she never allowed even 20 seconds of stillness without giving her opinion on things that don't have relevance in the moment to moment of Bikram. I remember doing head to knee and the entire time she was already talking about other postures. If you like people who talk incessantly then her class is for you. Seven is wonderful because he incorporates both personal positivity and allows for personal reflection in the class. Suzanne also personally sealed the deal for losing 3 potential clients permanently. A family member went to her for advice (and I know that there are modifications in postures) regarding the practice but she not only copped an attitude but also said she wasn't allowed to give advice for modifications. You've been teaching yoga how long? I just can't wrap my brain around this- and although I absolutely adore the other teachers as well as many of the students these two are enough to seal the deal for me and my family/friends permanently. Hopefully some things will change or perhaps they wont. The only reason I even yelped this is because I know if I brought any of this up in person nothing it wouldn't be taken seriously. read more

I feel so lucky to be able to do Bikram Yoga and now hot Pilates at the studio. I have yoga studio hopped for many years...two week trial here, groupon there....nothing has ever amazed me enough to become a member, until I came here to the Oceanside studio with my sister who is a yogi master. Now, this is not your "Yoga Six " type studio where they sell overpriced workout wear, offer multiple classes or have immaculate bathrooms and other amenities. This is a one room studio in a building shared with other businesses. Bikram is about discipline. You cannot drink water whenever you want (only in between certain poses when instructed), they discourage moving of any kind in between poses, and there is certainly no talking or music. This is what I love most about Bikram, but it's not for everyone. I have severe, degenerative arthritis in my spine, and SI joints that are fully fused. Doing yoga at 105 degrees has proved to be nothing but beneficial in managing my symptoms, something that no medicine has been able to do. Yes it's hard, yes, it's hot and yes, it smells, but giving yourself 90 minutes in that room is one of the best things you can do for your mental and physical health. All the instructors I have encountered have been wonderful. Different in their own ways, but passionate. If it is your first time, please let them know. Bikram is different from traditional yoga. My first class Monica let me know what to expect and welcomed me in front of the class. Truly a great community. read more

After the intro week, I bought a 20-class subscription. Here are my thoughts: -At $8.50 per class, this place is nearly half the cost of other Bikram studios! -The 20-class subscription is shareable with family members which was great when my sister came to visit and I didn't want to miss class. (It felt like I was bringing her to class for free.) -The room isn't as big as I've experienced at other studios... However, the few times I encountered a larger crowd, there was always enough space. -Instructors genuinely care about the students. If too many students are laying down, they will ease up on the heat. If a student leaves the room, they will go check on them. -Yes, things can be a little stinky, but not nearly as stinky as other studios I've been to. And mysteriously, there's often a hint of peppermint in the air. -Bathroom and changing areas are always clean. And BIG. -There are lockers. (Bring your own lock.) -They kindly supply shampoo and conditioner. -Street parking is super easy. (Based on attending the 6:30pm classes.) read more

This studio has a family/local neighborhood like vibe and the teachers are willing to help you with anything you need. I have been doing yoga for years and have been to many studios but when I started going to this studio I felt like I found my new home! The owners are so caring and really do care about you as a person. The hot Pilates class is a great added bonus to the studio. It gives you a super fun work out and you don't even realize you've been doing it for an hour! You will feel it the next day! The teachers are great and barely any turn over. I have been going for a couple of years and they have done some wonderful renovations to the studio. I just returned to Yoga Wild this month after being unable to do anything strenuous or bending, flexing, floor poses on my lower abdomen for over 1 year due to a condition called Premenstrual dysphoric disorder. My second time back after signing in and waiting for restorative yoga class to start downstairs I was approached by Vineetha who was very genuine in greeting and welcoming me back. It really made me feel inspired and motivated to get back to class because when businesses take the time to be personable it makes all the difference. I've never had a negative experience here and I've been here before all the new flooring and crazy pilates etc. People say it stinks like body odor...well that's the sweet smell of a good butt kicking sweat.
