I didn't know what to expect when I signed up for class so I came with an open mind. Right from the start, everyone at the studio was approachable and not at all intimidating! I loved that everyone was helpful and didn't seem cliquey either. I took a Sculpt class with Chris and it was AWESOME. I've never been to a jumping pilates class on the reformer - I had so much fun that I forgot that I was even working out! The class flew by and I enjoyed the playlist too! I was really impressed with Chris' knowledge and the cuing she did for each exercise. I am a physical therapist and the explanations she had for TrA activation, synovial fluid, and other joint-friendly variations she had were spot on! Chris kept it simple with the exercises which made them easy to follow. I liked that we didn't have to stick with one version of an exercise, but that we had the choice to make it harder or easier. I freakin love this place so much!! I love that they work with you if you're on a budget, they have the best pilates, yoga and vinyasa flow teachers!! They will always make you feel welcome and will always challenge you. I have been going to this place since earlier this year and I have enjoyed it thoroughly!! I HATE exercising, truly, and this Pilates studio helps me enjoy my workout and challenge me to push myself. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this place!! Plus they have great workout clothing!! I been a fun of pilates for quiet a few years now, when I moved to Oceanside it was during the pandemic. I spotted LA Pilates driving by, I came spoke to Brooke which she was so nice n showed me the facility and I loved it, I been a member for almost three years n I hope for many years to come. The Instructors are incredible, they are so knowledgeable Chris and Kathy Are caring, they are more than instructors they really know what your body needs. I love the exercises, the different classes are effective, they are challenging . My legs are smoother, I'm down almost 5 inches...I truly like them all. Recommend this place? 100 % read more

I'm so glad I found this studio on ClassPass! I've been trying to broadening my horizons and branch out to new studios to try barre and Pilates since I've never done either of them. I scheduled myself a class the night before and I got there extra early (10-15 mins) in case I had to fill out paper work. But in fact, all I had to do was sign in. When I first arrived, I was greeted by the nicest receptionist! I didn't catch her name, but she was so friendly and made me feel really comfortable for my first class. I didn't bring anything in with me as I didn't know what to expect; she said the class will use yoga mats and although they do have some we could borrow, I may want to use my own (luckily I keep a yoga mat in my car)! Since I was so early, she gave me a quick tour and even invited me to their Saturday event for their location's 1 year anniversary! She took me to wait in the barre room and although she mentioned she had never taken this particular class herself, she was helpful in letting me know what instruments I needed to grab from the back wall to get ready! I can't say how the class compares to other Barre classes as this is my first, but the moves really work on your glutes and legs. It was amazingly motivational since Monique, the instructor, knew the reason why we were all there (to get that beach booty!) Any time someone complained that it was difficult or they felt horrible/exhausted, Monique would be encouraging and say "but it's fabulously exhausting!" It made me work harder in class because it really was a fun workout! After class, the receptionist caught me on the way out and invited me back for a free Pilates class next week! They're having a promo and since my first time wasn't technically free (through ClassPass), she helped book me and now I get to try Pilates for the first time at this wonderful location! I was told I had to sign up for two months before I can cancel, have had it for four months. Had to request how to cancel only through the website after my card was charged for another month and the site said I as to be charged for another 30 days after cancellation. So more like mandatory 4 month commitment which is ridiculous. Weekend hours are short days. Honestly not worth it read more

I have never been a part of the gym scene other than a Curves or some various Zumba classes so my review of LAPilates in Carlsbad is my first experience of being a gym member I LOVE this place!! every experience I have had while being a part of this boutique type of gym Everyone the staff and instructors have all been amazing and supportive throughout the year I have been a member. I was always able to find some class that fit my schedule- when Covid hit in March I had to put my membership on hold and ooohhh how I missed the workouts and the friends I had come to know. This team stepped up and found a way to keep everyone safe and followed protocols by moved reformers outside under an amazing tent sooo happy to be back- Great job LAPilates!! Appreciate all the hard work you have done to keep the business going!! read more

I have been going to LA Pilates for several years now, and I still love my workouts! LOVE the instructors, I tend to go to Chris and Kathy B and absolutely love both of them, but all of the instructors are great. I enjoy combining the Flow classes with a Stretch or Jump class. read more

Great workout and great people - if you're looking for a new exercise routine that won't feel like a chore, this is the place! I've been going to Pilates group classes at LA Pilates three times a week for over six months and I love it. The vibe is friendly and the equipment is clean and in good shape. Huge shout out to instructor Chris for making the workouts fun and effective while providing helpful tips. Chris clearly knows her stuff, creating different routines every two weeks to keep it interesting and make sure everyone gets a full body workout. Highly recommend giving this place a try! read more

LA Pilates was such a great experience. I felt so welcome just walking in the door for the first time. they truly personalized my experience, and made my first reformer class easy and the best workout possible for a newbie. The facility is very clean and the equipment is fantastic. The class I took was really for all levels, and the teacher made the hour go by so quickly. I can't say enough good things about LA Pilates. I joined prior to the pandemic and was so sad when it hit. BUT I am so thankful that they have continued to go above and beyond to allow us to get a workout in. I actually really love the outdoor space they created, but I know it takes so much work for them to move that in and out every single day. The manager Brooke is so nice and helpful. The instructors are all so knowledgeable and hands on. I was a complete newbie to pilates so I needed the help. I can't believe how good of a workout it is. I love the new Booty Camp classes, I totally recommend it. The instructors Kathy and Chris are super friendly and always make sure everyone is doing the right moves or comfortable with them. I am a HUGE fan! A friend recommended LA Pilates a couple years ago, I finally started going last year and am now wondering WHAT TOOK ME SO LONG! I love the way I feel after each class. The instructors are so knowledgeable, relatable and fun. Chris is my favorite instructor - she really knows her stuff. From the moment you walk in, you can see how clean and safe everything is and everyone there from the front desk to the instructors are so welcoming and kind. What really amazed me was their outdoor studio! All classes are outside now and I honestly can say that I love it because of how nice the setup is. La pilates decided to charge members once the studio was closed down due to Covid. I contacted Jerry for a refund. I explained I didn't feel comfortable coming back as I care for 2 elderly parents. He said you have 1 month coming to you that will never expire I'm not refunding you anything ,it our policy and that's the way it is.If you'd like to take us to court go ahead, it will never hold up. I'm very upset with this response from management. At this point keep the $159 . It was never about the money. I'm just trying to get thru this and keep my 81 yr old parents safe. Hands down my favorite place to exercise! All of the trainers are very kind and most importantly very knowledgeable (especially when it comes to what muscles we're working or why we're doing a certain move). I'm so glad PiLAtes was able to open after COVID- they have a tent outside with amazing lights inside (great ambiance while you're working out at night). I paid for March 2020, but didn't use the facility due to the pandemic. After numerous messaging and calls, they still didn't refund my money and would've taken more had I not been able to discontinue the funds through my bank. Not responding to my messages, giving me confusing promises, and ultimately taking my money without giving me the service I signed up for equates to a horrible business. Do not go here, everybody is nice, but the instructors are not happy and I as a member I'm extremely displeased. read more
