I am a real estate broker and granddaughter of the owner of this house. It is vacant, with no…read morefurniture after the tenants move out. We needed it cleaned prior to going on the market. I paid for The Crew Cleaning Services LLC to go to the property and provide an estimate after seeing the property in person which they called an In Person Walk Thru. This cost $30 and would go towards the cost of the cleaning if I approved of the estimate. They did that February 27th. Kristin P. called me after the walk thru estimate, in which they took photos and looked at the scope of work, and told me the quote was $955. The price was so high due to the condition and they would need to toss their cleaning supplies after the cleaning. I let her know my primary focus was getting the floors cleaned as they are all tile throughout the house and once the furniture was removed, there was dirt and dust caked on the floors. I agreed and had to pay the $925 prior to her scheduling the work. The cleaning was scheduled March 7th. I met her at the property and let her in. She viewed the property again at that time. We planned on doing a little work on the outside of the property that day. She asked us to leave so she could start and shut the door. I thought this was odd, but everyone has their own processes. After about 4.5 hours, I received a text that she was done. I thought that was very quick. She did let me know she did not clean a bathroom shower as a cat had used it as a restroom once. I went to the property as we were scheduled to go on the market that day. I walked in at it looked like the same condition that I left it in. The floors were not cleaned, the windows were not cleaned, the baseboards were not cleaned, the toilets were not cleaned, the stove was not cleaned. All of which were in her estimate. I paid double if not triple the price of a vacant home cleaning because of its condition. She viewed the property and gave me an estimate based on its condition. And she did not do the job. In escrow and discovering a substantial repair requirement before I could sell, Orlando came out immediately, uncovered enough of the damage to know what needed to be done, explained the problem and repair process, sent out both a structural and an architectural engineer in order to provide me an reasonable estimate, and did all this within two days so that he could meet my escrow timeframe. He charged me nothing for all these visits. Castillo's Building's engineers obtained the required city permit within one week -- remarkable -- and got started immediately afterward. They worked Saturdays to help me avoid penalities that would be incurred had I missed the closing date for the sale of my home. Castillo's pricing was extremely attractive, and Orlando was willing to wait until the closing of escrow before getting paid.
