They have great sushi rolls, bento box, and a few of their appetizers aren't to bad too. The times I been there was plenty of seating and dining area not too loud, but mainly I do takeout. We are leaving our review for our Togo order. Our family's been getting sushi here for some time. In our case it is quick easy and just down the street on the street so it's a very quick in-and-out. There's quite a selection of sushi to decide from and and mostly on this trip we were planning on not having the inflight snacks that they offer on Southwest and no meal we decided to treat ourselves to a nice platter of sushi so we got some individual orders for each of us to have our inflight feast. They do a good job too. There's quite a nice selection so if you would rather have sashimi than so she me then sushi The Choice is yours if you want to have chicken or soup The Choice is yours. It just depends on what you're willing to carry. We are so glad we decided to bring our own sushi on the flight. Update to say: Their prices have gone up, but so has their food quality in my opinion. We placed an order here for two 2 item specials with chicken teriyaki and tempura, a futo roll, and a yo special roll. The specials were good - the chicken was much better than I had experienced in the past. They were quick - our order was place over the phone and ready in 20 minutes. I'm keeping it at 3.5/5 because they skimp on the chicken compared to similar restaurants and price points in the area, and the futo roll was oddly salty. Still, yo sushi is convenient. Yes the prices went up slightly but the quality is the same. I also can't stress, the quick turn around. Every time I call, the order is freshly made in 10 minutes. The long and short of it is, I really wish I liked Yo Sushi more. We usually order out from Sushi Go Go, but because we see this sushi spot so often when walking down San Pablo, we decided to try it out. And survey says... yeah, nah. I would call Yo Sushi true fast food sushi as the quality of the ingredients was pretty low. It also didn't taste freshly prepared and the tempura batter was absolutely flavorless. The sushi has been good (not great) and orders come out quickly. Even when it's packed, seating and parking not too hard to find. I ordered in from Yo Sushi and got three rolls: Deluxe Spicy Tuna Deluxe Crispy Philadelphia Roll Despite a large number of rolls on their menu, it didn't feel like they had many with salmon, which is my favorite, and the ones they did have were largely cooked. So I ordered the deluxe crispy because it had salmon (albeit fried) and the Philadelphia roll, because despite most people's hatred of cream cheese in sushi, this one had salmon and hits the spot for me. Unfortunately, the only way I can describe the sushi is bland. All of it. Even the spicy tuna. Maybe they needed some sort of sauce? I'm really not sure sure what to say, but they had no taste. One of our "go to" spots especially during COVID. There are better places for sushi and better places for Japanese food, but the variety of food they have means they have something for everyone. Solid tasting rice (and if you've read my other reviews, you know I'm a harsh critic here). Enjoy their sushi since the fish is always fresh and the rolls are creative. I've ordered probably a dozen things here and most of it is worthwhile. Chicken teriyaki is only okay - not charbroiled enough for me and the sauce is a bit weak. Tempura is very good! Never over or under done. Gyoza is deep fried and I prefer it pan fried, but it's still good. Love the Magic Ball (you just have to try it for yourself). SERVICE: Only okay. Not the friendliest and not a fan of their packaging. They tend to put all the sushi in one container even though some of it is deep fried which makes the cold sushi warm and warm sushi cold. Even when they don't, they don't use an insulated container so the heat affects the sushi. COST: Good overall. Average of about $10 per roll and you probably need 1.5 rolls to feel full. If it weren't for the fact that they have my daughter's favorite sushi we probably wouldn't come here so often, but it's good enough to keep coming back. read more
