The quality here has recently and rapidly declined. I have been getting takeout from here for years and the last 3 orders were almost inedible. I say 3 strikes and you're out. Got it to go. Loved Mongolian beef and also the noodles. Never eaten inside. Looks simple but pleasant.

The food was a bit questionable , my brother and I came in and got appetizers, potstickers and crab puffs. The potstickers had meat that smelled sour and spoiled. The dinner combination also came with a single egg roll, crab puff, and hot and sour soup. The egg roll had fish bones in it and almost made my brother choke. I don't get why so many people complain about this place. I think it's just fine. It's nothing special if you are really particular but they're nice people and the food is decent. I feel like the food has changed since ownership changed a few years ago. For the first time recently I ordered the orange chicken and I found it to be much better than in years past. Elevated and now includes pieces of orange and even a piece of orange rind. Give them a try to see for yourself read more

Reviewing our SIP experience with take out tonight. We ordered won ton soup, chicken chow mien, eggplant & veggies and steamed rice. The lady taking my order over the phone was friendly and easy to understand. I was told 10-15 mins for pickup. When I arrived the restaurant took extra precautions to keep their customers safe. They had hung a wall of plastic sheeting about 10 feet from the door to separate the front and back with a window to pass food through. I was greeted and immediately and my food was neatly packed and ready very quickly. Many people complained about the temperature, the food was piping hot when we arrived home and had beautiful flavor. I've been super hungry for Chinese food as we have no Chinese restaurants any where near our current home and made a special trip to this restaurant as it had a lot of good Yelp reviews. I ordered the Szechuan Beef and Kung Pao chicken. I've never had such terrible Szechuan beef (actually, I've never previously had poorly prepared Szechuan beef from any restaurant). The very small strips of beef were heavily coated in a thick batter that was deep fried and covered with a tasteless brownish sauce. No chilis, garlic or other flavors... worse than hospital food. Beef in batter was cooked like a poor quality sweet sour entrée (without the sauce). Honestly, please consult a cook book!!! Szechuan beef is NEVER battered, much the less served in a tasteless, bland sauce. The Kung Pao chicken was properly prepared and looked appealing with small pieces of chicken and vegetables, BUT it also lacked any flavor. No garlic, ginger, chilis or other flavors. Totally bland and tasteless. Almost like I had lost all sense of taste (I had to add some chili garlic sauce from my pantry for flavor as I thought my taste buds weren't working... they were). Very disappointed, especially in light of the prices ($12 an entrée for takeout). I would not have minded the cost had the food been even partially better. Maybe people in Windsor like bland food or don't know what good Chinese food is like? read more

I've lived in Windsor for many years and eaten Yinkeng only a couple times years ago. Don't remember it being anything special but met up with some friends last week for dinner and it was great! Sweet and sour chicken and sizzling rice soup were standouts. I already got it again last night to bring home and it didn't disappoint. Great Chinese food! read more

Amazing delicious food! First time with ordering their food since Covid. Sweet and Sour soup was the best! Such flavor with that hint of sour. Little flavor of heat. Just perfect! I ordered the lunch special: Sweet and Sour Pork. They gave me enough for two people. Crispy, flavorful. Meaty pieces, not drowning in sauce. Noodles were also tasty, not bland or plain. I wanted something different, Asian sounded like a good choice and the folks at Yinkeng "Slam Dunked" it! When I called and placed my order they told me my order would be ready for pickup in 10 minutes. 13-15 minutes later I arrived, restaurant was clean, personal attentive, the aroma of the Restaraunt was great, my order which was piping hot and ready to go! I couldn't wait to it get my dinner home to consume it. My order consisted of; Egg Rolls Won-Ton w/cheese crab filling Chicken Chow-Mein Vegetable Beef and Sweetn-n-Sour Chicken I was a bit hungry, and I was not let down. Plenty of vegetables, meat, chicken, full of flavor, healthy portions with exception of the egg rolls. They're a bit on the dinky side. Next egg roll order will probably be a twelve pack of them babies. After having two servings of each, my belly was full and you folks guess by now, what I had for lunch the following day? The leftovers were just as good, if not better, thanks to the fermenting process. Give these folks at "Yinkeng" a shot, they deserve the business and you won't be let down. read more

Not bad, usual set up. Shrimp taste fishy and fried rice is not fried, most everything else is to be expected. The fried rice should be cooked differently giving it a different taste and flavor should be added. There we two meals that i did like and the others could have more. The Lemon chicken had quite a good flavor, their batter is quite thick bringing the quality of the meal a bit down, but pretty good. The Mushu was delicious, might go back just for that. Stay away. The new kitchen staff NEEDS to learn how to cook. This was LUKE-WARM GARBAGE. Lackluster taste, undercooked chicken, raw vegetables in the mixtures. I used to say best Chinese food in Windsor was found here, now I have to say that the best Chinese food is found at panda express (god that hurts to say) The Mongolian beef was nothing like it used to be here no heat or flavor. In fact no flavors in any on the 6 items ordered. The sweet/sour chicken was so much batter I could make a cake with it, and maybe make a Macdonald's 4 piece chicken nugget meal with the amount of chicken to batter combo. The food was so horrible we tossed it out since it is not safe for human consumption and popped in a frozen pizza. Waste of hard earn dollars. At this point the Coronavirus has more flavors and probably taste better then this horrible pile of shit. Be warned to stay away until they can turn this around. Anyhow, I'm glad they're successful here in Windsor but there are too many other Chinese restaurants for me to return to this one. We ordered the Peking Dinner for 3 so we got to try won ton soup, hot and sour soup, Mongolian beef, sizzling chicken, mu shu pork, fried rice, plus we added orange chicken and spring rolls. For ME, there was not one winner in the group. I neither finished my dinner nor brought home my leftovers, which is always a highlight the next day. Friendly service. Prices on par. read more

We have been going here for 25 years now - hard to believe. Food is consistent for all this time. I do like to eat in, but more often take out. Favorites are: Szechwan Beef - just yum! I didn't love the old Yinkeng (an understatement) but since they've reopened, we think the food is great. We almost always get the wonton soup, which is loaded with veggies, chicken and shrimp and has amazing broth. We also enjoyed the eggplant dishes, snow peas and mushrooms, pork and shrimp chow mein. I hadn't been to YinKeng for several years. I heard it had been sold, then it closed for a time during Covid, and today was a great day to go back and check out how the new owner is faring. Wow! I liked it before, and I like it lots more now! The young woman who is the new owner was spotted hand making dumplings, all the veggies were fresh, the portions were very generous. We over ordered and have leftovers for several days, and what fine leftovers! Onion pancakes, hot and sour soup, walnut prawns. The standout is the pork egg foo yong. Service outstanding. My family and I have ordered takeout from Yinkeng many times and have enjoyed our meals so much so that we decided to order takeout for Christmas. To our surprise, every single family member proceeded to vomit all night afterward having dinner. I went to the restaurant today and brought back the leftover food and requested a refund (except the tip, because I was sure it was a random occurrence and wanted to tip the servers for their time). I was shocked to be told they would not refund me, gave me a run around by telling me to contact their insurance company, asked me if I collected stool samples, and then told me they'd do nothing for me without proof from a doctor. Needless to say, I will never purchase from them again and will be very vocal to the local Windsor community about my experience. read more
