I've been wanting to try this rice roll since I've seen it on TikTok! And it was pretty good I wish they weren't out of sausage so I could've added sausage to it. But it was very flavorful. The store had a section of refrigerators that had so many amazing taiwanese foods for purchase from dumplings to bao buns. So many things I wanted to buy them all. The restaurant was clean lots of seating on the inside. The service was mediocre not really helpful, definitely didn't get the warm welcoming feeling I have gotten in so many other restaurants.

Came in today on Thursday and did not get honored for $3,99 Daikon Cake. They charged me full price, so what's the point having promotion??

Updating because I just realized they forgot 1 of my breads and the price for 1 sesame ball is $2.50! Ouch!!! See receipt pic, prices are a but much so I may only come back 1 or 2 times a year

Taiwanese breakfast! How I wish they have something like this in Minnesota! That's why it's usually a must visit for me when I visit my family in California. My go to items are the Taiwanese meatball, omelette and sweet soy milk. Tried the dumplings during this latest visit and it was a hit with my two little guys.

Taiwnese sausage rice and 2 extra sausages

Wow, I believe this place is under new management. I visited today because my son has been craving Taiwanese sausage rice. There is usually an unpleasant female employee there but today we were met with another female employee, very friendly and hospitable. We dined in and sat at the booth and were brought menus. I looked at the menu and it looked fairly new and prices appeared to have gone down. I was expecting smaller portions but when our food came out, I was delighted to see the generous portions of taiwanese sauce and rice. I also ordered 2 taiwanese sausages on the side and one of their steamed taiwanese tamales with egg. We enjoyed our food and service was great. Food was fresh, tasty , sausages with the perfect sear on the outside and succulent pieces of fat. We were not hassled for a tip and leaving a tip wasn't mentioned at all , just mentioning this because I read other reviews that had a bad experience. Maybe they turned a new leaf? Will def be back to enjoy more of our favorite taiwanese dishes.

An amazing value in this overpriced world. If you are looking for classic Taiwanese food and especially breakfast food this is the place to be. The flavors are classic, the portions are value and the expectations are right. Breakfast food all day is the best. I would skip the noodles in favor of the rice dishes however if you into pure volume of food. Further, it is a quick in and out with easy access parking. Overall would be back again.

Taiwanese breakfast or food is just so hard to come across but thank goodness Yi Mei remains a staple throughout socal. So here we go, Yi Mei, where you can enjoy some classic Taiwanese breakfast. So for starters, get a fan tuan (rice roll), egg omelette, and savory soy milk. They're what make the breakfast experience. If you got room for anything else, go for it. The rice roll is nicely packed with fried dough, pork floss, and picked vegetables so I got no complaints. The egg omelette is so light and savory I could eat 2 of these if I could. The garlic soy sauce it comes with really elevates the experience. Lastly, the savory soy milk was my fiance's favorite. It looks messy but it's just comfort food through and through. So what more is there to say? Get their breakfast, otherwise I'm sure their lunch/dinner options are good too including beef stew noodle soup and oyster pancake.

Beef noodle soup, not bad!

It was my second visit here and boy was it DRASTICALLY different! I was unaware that you could customize your rice roll with so many things! You can add in a stewed egg or a scallion egg, you can even add in beef and pickled mustard. Originally when I had the normal rice roll, the portions just didn't fit well, but after adding other items, the rice roll was near perfection!! The only downside is the rice was a bit mushy that day. The wonton noodle soup blew me out the water! I had very mild to low expectations as wonton noodle soup is normally just a comforting soup, but I LOVED the flavors in this one. The noodles were like a combo of udon and ramen texture/taste. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I'm definitely ordering it again. The wontons were seasoned very nicely and the broth felt like it cleansed my soul. Life-changing! JK lol but it was pretty darn good.

Came to Yi Mei at around 9 AM on a weekday and it wasn't too busy but soon after there was a steady flow of people coming in for takeout and their quick order items at the counter as well as their refrigerated and freezer items. We were seated quickly, and the staff is so amazing here and so attentive. We ate some authentic, delicious Taiwanese cuisine, including green onion, pancake with egg, oyster pancakes, salty soy milk with Chinese doughnut, pan, fried dumplings, cold, sweet soy milk, peanut soy milk, and sticky rice wrapped in banana leaf. Yes! We ordered so much food. I also grabbed the sesame balls and mochi red bean to go. Omg everything was delicious.

Came here on a Saturday around 11 and it wasn't too crowded! The food has always been consistent and the quality hasn't changed. We ordered pork chop rice, fan Tuan with purple rice, gua bao, and salty soy milk. Typically I'll order the egg omelette but they have a $2 extra charge right now

Great quick and casual Taiwanese breakfast joint! The food here is quick and made fresh. All the Taiwanese staples like fan tuan, potstickers, tea eggs, soups! The staff is kind. Good amount of seating inside with a bar for sauce and utensils. It's extremely casual but it's got all the necessary "basics"

Stopped by on Saturday, 02/15/25 during lunch time. Dined in and ordered the following: - 1 sausage noodle = $13 - 1 Chinese donut = $3.25 - 1 daikon cake = $5.75 - 1 pork chop rice = $12.50 - 1 beef noodle = $13.50 SUB TOTAL = $48 TAX = $3.72 TOTAL = $51.72 We waited about 20-25 minutes for our order to arrive. Overall the food was great. I would recommend this place improve the overall wait time.

Does anyone know what is in the garlic soy sauce? I've moved away from California recently and have been craving the sauce. I can detect some sugar, possible vinegar, soy sauce, and garlic. Anyone else have an idea?

Rice wine vinegar, sugar, garlic, soy.

Does anyone know the correct website to order online? The one posted on the receipt couldn't be found. Thanks!

I met up with a friend at Wara Cafe and we had the best time sipping on our Shrek Lattes and eating their Croffles. We ordered the Shrek Latte (Hot) and Shrek Latte (Cold) as our drinks, and both got the Croffle w/ Mixed Berries, Fresh Whipped Cream, Hazelnut Drizzle, and because it was the weekend and my stomach begs for brunch food, I also got their Classic Breakfast which comes with 2 eggs, 2 bacon, side of toast, and salad. Let me tell you and stop you right in your tracks if you're looking at other things on their menu. Their Croffle is top of the line, the best croffle invention I have ever had, and gave me another reason to exist and enjoy life, just so I can eat their Croffles. If you are wondering what it is, it's like a dessert fusion breakfast item in between a croissant and a waffle pressed in a waffle iron. This makes an airy, buttery, crunchy, waffle bite, and it's got me drooling as I am typing this hungry. They pair it here with mixed berries, and their house-made fresh whipped cream. The whipped cream is another story I need to say, because I originally thought it was too much since its a size of an ice cream scoop, but I finished the whole thing and enjoyed every bite of it since it is also one of the best fresh whipped creams I have had. Just get the croffle, OK? 100% gauranteed you will love it and thank me later, please. Also, if I may convince you of another thing. If you love matcha and cinnamon, it is no doubt you will love their Shrek Latte. I read "Matcha, brown sugar, and cinnamon, as their description, and I was immediately sold. Sign me up for another Shrek Latte please, and I'll change my name to Fiona. I absolutely loved it and would order again. The staff here are also beyond friendly, and genuinely sweet. They checked on my friend and I every now and then and made sure we were taken care of. They are all so beautiful, and have such great smiles. I can see why the wait line was so long! I would come back every weekend if I were closer to Wara Cafe, but it just gives me more reason to bring another friend along and make the trip out here. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience. My friend and I left with full tummies and a big smile. Thank you!

When I walked away, the barista also made a comment about the decaf drink that came across irritated. My friend had ordered a decaf beverage as well around the same time. While I was trying to focus on some work, one of the employees from the counter sat with a friend near the cashier area and they were speaking very loudly. Their conversation included comments about someone being Asian and arguing about whether someone was Black. It felt uncomfortable and unprofessional to overhear that kind of conversation while sitting in the shop. I hope the staff receive some basic customer service and professionalism training, as the atmosphere made it difficult to enjoy the space.

A Fabulous (and Filling!) Mother's Day Brunch!…read more Came here on a Saturday with my daughter and grandchildren for an early Mother's Day brunch, and it did not disappoint! The Violet Rooster is a fantastic little brunch spot with unique, charming decor and seriously generous portions. PRO TIP: Reservations are highly recommended through Yelp! It is not a very large restaurant, so if you don't book ahead, expect to wait about 30 to 40 minutes for a table (which is exactly what we waited). Because of the cozy size, it's also probably not the best spot for big parties of more than 8 people. They do have both indoor seating and an outdoor patio option. Once we were seated, our server was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the meal. We started with drinks--a Violet's Secret Mimosa and a Paloma--both were refreshing and well-made. For food, we ordered a bit of everything: Feta Me Betta: Egg whites scrambled with spinach, mushrooms, red bell pepper, turkey sausage, feta, and everything spice. It came with homestyle potatoes, fresh salsa, and a piece of sourdough. It was packed with flavor! Traditional Eggs Benedict: Canadian bacon with a perfect traditional hollandaise sauce that my daughter loved. Happy Hendrix Pancake: A super fluffy buttermilk pancake with a smiley face made out of fresh fruit and confetti sprinkles. It was an absolute hit with my granddaughter! All in all, a wonderful experience. The portions are huge--we definitely couldn't finish everything and happily took leftovers home. As a bonus, the bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. Just keep in mind that the parking lot is on the smaller side, so give yourself a few extra minutes to find a spot. We will definitely be back!

I was pleasantly surprised when Brandon kindly answered the phone and let me know they would be open for regular business hours. Upon arriving, the place is super cozy and clean. It smelled of fresh coffee beans and delish food. They had a small area towards the far corner with board games and toys for the little ones which is INCREDIBLE. My toddler loved this corner and I appreciate that this business acknowledges their customers might have their little ones with them at coffee shops sometimes and it's a nice touch to have something available for them as well. Brandon was extremely patient and helpful when my family and myself were trying to determine what we would order. I fell under the impression this is a family ran business and I can tell they truly care about their customers. The food was incredible. I also ordered a hot vanilla latte (I am more of an iced coffee kind of person) and I'm glad I had it hot... the latte was extremely yummy but also strong! It kept me pushing through the day! Overall, super pleased with everything 10/10 and I will definitely be coming back and recommending this business to as many people as I can!
