Two stars only for the beer. How I was looking forward to a cold Smithwicks and a quick fish n chips. I've been by here numerous times but this was my first visit. What a disappointment! The ambiance of the place wasn't great. What makes this an Irish pub, all the crap on the walls? CIA chef, phooey! Fish could have been drained of all the oil clinging to it and a very dark appearance. Malt vinegar just bounced off of it like it was waterproof. Chips tasted old and stale. And what species of fish filet comes in the shape of a cylinder? This is a simple fried fish dish that should be prepared to order. Ill try again with a more traditional dish and hope for better results. Only reason I'm giving it a second chance is the beer which tasted fresh and cold. read more

I would rate it -10 if I could. The owner was belligerently drunk and screamed in, and put his hands directly in my girlfriends face. We were attempting to meet up with our group of friends and in a drunken rage he kicked us all out. It was around 10pm so we were just beggining our night. No one had drank and he was attacking and accusing the female DD's of our group of being overly drunk. The food is also never fresh. I've had the worst shepherds pie I've ever seen/tasted here. The service was very good. The town is just so beautiful and the restaurant is a favorite. We ordered the burgers because it was recommended to us but I have to say it was just okay. It came on a Kaiser roll which isn't my favorite and it just wasn't the best. That being said, the server was extremely friendly and i would return and try something else off the menu. read more

Been here a few times over the years. The food never gets better- mediocre at best. I am guessing the bar is the reason it stays open. Today my husband has the Rueben- too salty. His French onion soup was covered in mozzarella-not gruyere (or at least Swiss!) My butternut squash soup was bland and tasteless and the french dip sandwich was drowning in more mozzarella!! Wanted to try this place at the new location...figured since its been such a landmark in Warwick for so many years it had to be good..NOT!!!!!!! Props to the decor inside but I am not coming here to admire wallpaper....the dinner selections are minimal...one-page menu. So we ordered ribs, my wife had the salmon....both 29.95....for that price I expected a decent sized meal.. Food came out relatively quick but was served on TINY dinner plates...expecting at least half a rack of ribs, I got MAYBE 6 ribs, which were tough and not good at all, 2 little sprigs of broccoli and a few fries.....wow! My wife's salmon was over cooked and again two sprigs of broccoli on the TINY plates..not sure who they think they are fooling.!! I hate feeling like I got raped after leaving a restaurant but its a fact and thats what 80 bucks bought (with tip). Really wanted to like this place, but we will NOT be going back. I dont mind paying good money for a meal that was worth remembering. Sub par at best if your not a fussy eater but I know good food and my wife could cook them under the table any day of the week! read more

Only time we have been here was on 4th of July for lunch... here is my take. 1. Greeted and seated right away - no wait 2. Ambience - Dark Pub feel, a lot of stuff on the walls, tables & chairs seemed old and dated 3. Service - attentive and average 4. Drinks - heavy pours on Gin and Beer was good, cold and in a nice glass 5. Food - Eh.. Fish & Chips were not good, super thick batter that didn't stay crispy and ended up tasting like a pancake. Visited 10/10/16 Stopped by for an early dinner after some strenuous apple picking at Maskers Farms. Yesterday's is a nice, pretty typical local Irish bar. The service was prompt and friendly. We started with some little neck steamers. Typical, light broth... small clams and not enough of them for me, but very good. We both had their cheeseburger, which I am told is the best burger in town. Served medium rare, done perfectly with a slice of onion and tomato. first time at the new location and first impression was that it was very cool, busy, same vibe as the old spot. second impression was that the service wasn't great, staff never smiles, and drinks are in a 6 ounce glass for $15. can't comment on the food because we left before anyone tried to take our order after sitting there for 15 minutes. will give it a second chance...hopefully they improve. read more

I haven't eaten here in quite some time, but I remembered that they had a fried chicken basket and I was in the mood for chicken. The people I interacted with on the phone and person were very nice. The chicken was fried alright, it was clearly frozen chicken (which didn't surprise me), but it had an oddly sweet taste to it that just didn't work. It was similar in appearance and crunchiness to what you'd get at any diner which is the type of chicken I was craving for some reason, except for the sweetness. The fries were okay....I dunno I guess I'm saying that if you like standard diner style fried chicken then maybe don't order this and stick to a burger or daily special. read more

Please find somewhere else to eat. This was an awful experience. Food was terrible and overpriced. The fish in the fish and chips was way over cooked and translucent, I have no idea what species of fish it was. The chicken tenders 'tasted weird' and were not consumed. The beer was good. A couple arrived while we were there (the lady was on crutches) they just wanted a drink but were told they had to order food. And so were forced to leave. There was a lot of rules on the menu. A person (I believe the owner) asked if everything was ok but left before we could respond. But the beer was good. Normally I would outline my concerns to staff, but I got the impression that my disappointment would not have been met with empathy. Please go somewhere else...... read more

This place is next level... truly above and beyond for their customers. Not to mention the fish and chips were *chefs kiss* and the cask mates hot toddy absolutely hit the spot after a cold day. Ordered two fish and chips for my wife and I as a take out. We eat in the car mostly because of Covid. When I entered the car she noticed a strong fishy smell. This was very strange because she has lost her sense of taste and smell from a Covid infection but could still smell the odor. The order was eighty percent breading and 20 percent fish very sad. Stay far away if you want service. We live locally and have been wanting to try it, we entered town and they had street closed and they had a band so got a table. Our server took our order and never came back. Our drinks were empty, no napkins, had to ask for check which waitress didn't even bring over. She served friends and people she new while we were trying to wave her down and saw us. Had to walk in to pay because they didn't come back and waitress gave me iPad without as much as a thank you or an I'm sorry. This place was amazing. Was originally going to eddies roadhouse but the wait was too long so stopped here. WOW what a gem!!! So happy we ate here. Wife had a burger which was delish and I had the Shepard's pie which was hands down best I ever had. And then we had the chocolate mousse and baileys cheesecake which was out of this world. So I am pretty sure the owner of this restaurant sent me a really rude message calling my review of this establishment "whining and juvenile" (his reviews are under the 'filtered' section, all 5 stars of course!). He also said I should take down my review. Since I'm not willing to do that, what I will do for you, GREG, is I will write about the first time I came here, when I had a decent experience. When I was looking for a rental in Warwick, my boyfriend and I came here for lunch. I had the burger, which was indeed, a great burger (perhaps not the best, but great) and the french onion soup was also delicious. Still, if you want good beer, Eddie's across the street cannot be beat on beer selection & quality food. But it should be noted that the owner is still a total d-bag and he doesn't care about the customer. Going around messaging people on Yelp who give you a bad review isn't going to make me come back or recommend this place to my friends. You've lost me forever, Yesterday's. Yesterdays is the opposite of Eddie's Roadhouse across the street. Whereas Eddie's is a loud, craft beer bar with new American food, Yesterdays is a tamer but still loud, traditional bar with traditional American food. You will see the owner and/or his wife around, and there is a good chance they will seat you or ask how everything is even though this is not a new restaurant--and doesn't claim to be. The place can get busy at times but doesn't usually pack out (Applefest, I'm looking at you). A late kitchen is one of the big reasons why Yesterdays is popular, along with an award winning burger that they hang their hat on. The service I find to be good for a bar, and as long as you're polite they'll be nice to you. All in all although it gets slammed here and my rating isn't sky high, Yesterdays is an "A-OK" restaurant/bar. First off, the beer menu is a little better than what it seems at a glance. While all the pisswater favorites are there--Budweiser, Miller Lite, etc.--you also have some decent American brews like Sierra Nevade Pale Ale, Dale's Pale Ale, Yuengling, and 1 or 2 others. Not going to win any beer bar awards, but at least there's a bit of variety. I thought the old school part of the menu--with updated prices of course--is pretty cool, but then again I'm a sucker for those things. To start I ordered a french onion soup, which was a worthy example with most of the right flavors being present; a little heavy on the cheese and light on the bread, but still very good. My friend enjoyed the salad he got greatly, remarking that it was much better than he expected. I also had to get the burger which was pretty damned good, athough I am not traveled enough in the Hudson Valley to declare it the best. The beef was clearly never frozen, and although they didn't have the blue cheese to make my blue cheese/onions combo work, the cheddar and mushrooms replacement worked just fine (I wish the mushrooms were fresher though). The chips AKA fries they came with were crisp and good, as were the clam strips that my friend got. All in all I just wanted to catch up with a friend and have a decent meal, and we did! Hang the mission accomplished banner. It turned out to be a fine substitute to the packed Eddie's Roadhouse across the street. My advice for some of these other reviewers is don't come into Yesterdays expecting anything other than a decent meal. It's a bar with bar food, not the Spotted Pig or Minetta Tavern. A gastropub across the street is serving freshly cooked innovative dishes and here it's yesterday - thickly battered greasy fish, crappy over cooked burgers and frozen steak fries. Have been there a number of times, lunch only, and always found it a solid 4 stars --- but the latest was a disaster. First clue, the menu was cut way down, and is now missing our favorites. Waitress indicated it was the "new" fall lunch menu. Ordered the "Greek Salad" entre, and it was the old small side salad with a bit of feta cheese, a couple of olives and a cold pita --- no dressing, no nothing. It was over $10, which means that pita cost me about 5 bucks. When I complained to the waitress, the response was "That's OUR version and if you wanted dressing you should have let me know". Partner's medium burger was dry and crunchy, fries were burnt, cold, and soggy. Maybe ordered wrong, maybe a bad day, maybe dinner is better --- but there are too many other similar restaraunts in Warwick to keep Yesterdays on our short list. Now it's main advantage is that it's one of the few open on Monday. read more

My boyfriend and I have driven by a million times without stopping in, but after hearing they have an Atkins diet Menu and a Medifast menu, I decided to give it a shot. The atmosphere was really cool -- tons of articles and knick-knacks to look at and it gave off a very rustic Irish vibe, which I'm really in to. There aren't many tables though, and we had to wait 10 minutes to be seated for lunch. Everyone looked relaxed and sleepy, like they were just hanging out and enjoying themselves, which I liked. A nice older couple enjoying beers together moved over to the bar so we could have a table to eat. I got a bacon cheeseburger w/o the bun with a little side salad and cooked zucchini off of the Atkins menu, and it was delicious. I was a little miffed that they charge 75cents for each topping... nothing comes on the burger. I understand charging for the bacon for sure, but most burgers at least come with cheese. My boyfriend loved his meal, which was also a burger but with fries. The only real trouble we had was when we got the bill and noticed that they charged us $10 for 4 glasses of soda, which were filled 3/4 the way with ice. We thought about it and noticed there wasn't any mention of drinks or drink prices anywhere on the menu, so after we paid we commented to the waitress about it. I said that I was upset that we weren't told about the refill charge, even after we asked if our beverages were on tap. She rolled her eyes at us and said, "We're not a chain restaurant, we can't afford free refills." Then she pointed at the bottom of the menu and said, "Menus tell you if refills are free at the bottom and you should have looked." I work in Hospitality. I was not rude to this woman, and I did not ask for a fixed check, I just pointed out that I would have liked to be informed, either by her or somewhere on the menu. Her attitude was unnecessary, especially in a place that's trying to sell itself on a friendly atmosphere. It definitely put a damper on the experience. It also isn't the customer's business what they can and can't afford, and it was unprofessional to hit me with that. There are plenty of non-chain restaurants that can and do afford free refills, or at least trained waitstaff. Sadly, because of this experience I probably won't be returning here as there are plenty of other places who appreciate my business more, but I did think the food was wonderful and that having a diet-friendly menu is a great idea. The food isn't the problem, just the service. On a side note, when you walk in there's a restaurant review available to read, and it gave the service 2 stars of 5. Here's the thing, it's a Pub and not fine dining. As far as Pubs go, it's a 5 in my book. The beer selection is awesome with ~20 brews on tap. As a beer snob, I really appreciate having some choices other than Bud, Miller or Coors. The atmosphere is casual, comfortable and lots of character. The menu is loaded with both standard and unique selections. It's some of the best "Pub" food I've ever had.... Great Beef Wellington Rollantini, Reuben's, Burgers, Crab Cakes, Garlic-Goat Cheese-Pesto app, Salmon-Onion-Cream cheese app, French onion soup, etc... Although it's a 20 minute ride for me, my wife and I grab a bar seat here a couple times per month. It's great for watching a game. read more

We came across Yesterday's by accident. My wife and I were in the mood for some pub food. I got a Ruben and she got a burger. I have to tell you, the Ruben was one of the tastiest I have ever had and my wife's burger (cooked medium) was so so so good. But if that wasn't enough there was a beautiful moment between an elderly couple and a gentleman that worked there. This couple must of been regulars and needed assistance getting up and out of the restaurant. The dignity and beauty for the interaction was moving to me. If this gentleman can take the time for a customer in need, they deserve my businesses. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. We were a goup of 4 that entered this place on St. Patrick's day. The owner who was dressed in all green and even had dyed his hair and beard green said we could have a table as long as we ordered an "entree". As we sat we ordered a round of drinks, a French onion soup, and an entree of corned beef to share between all of us.The waitress was confused so we all knew something was wrong. Here comes the owner who told us to that we had to leave unless we each ordered an "entree" worth of food. Although I do not come here often, I am never disappointed. Yesterday's is a super small bar/restaurant located in the heart of downtown Warwick. It's good if you want to grab some drinks or a great meal. The place is literally split in half - on the left is the bar area - on the right is the restaurant area. The bar are is always packed. Everyone loves coming here to grab a couple of beers - I guess it doesn't hurt that the bartender is one of the friendliest people you will ever meet. The restaurant area is pretty small - there are only eight tables total. The menu is limited but they have a good variety. You can have anything from a hamburger to penne a la vodka with crab cakes on top. My favorite appetizer is this dish (don't remember the name) that consists of bread, cheese and roasted garlic. What you do is spread the roasted garlic on the bread and then top it off with some cheese. Delicious! My favorite meal is of course the penne a la vodka with crab cakes on top. The penne has a bit of a kick, but it compliments the crab cakes which are packed with huge pieces of crab. For dessert - I am not sure - I am usually too stuffed to order any - but I am sure whatever they offer is good. read more

This is a nice small place in Warwick. Cozy and has a decent view of the Main Street. I had the very delicious fish and chips. They were very crispy and the fish tasted fresh. They also have a better than normal beer selection with a number of craft/micro brews for selection. My only issue for our visit here was that a screaming baby that it seemed no one could help stop screaming made it unpleasant until that party left. read more

I hit up this spot with my wife on vacation this week based on the recommendation of a Glenemere Mansion staffer. The place is about as Irish Pub as you can get. We watched reruns of old Mets games from the 80's while sampling the fare. I had the fish and chips and my wife the beef stew. The fish and chips was the best I have ever had. The batter was infused with beer from everything they have on tap, and I was licking my fingers. The beef stew was hearty and cooked perfectly. I recommend this place to anyone looking for some solid pub grub. read more

We went here with our two young kids for late afternoon snacks and beers during football. Fantastic service -- the waitstaff was great with our kids, very accommodating, kind and polite, and went out of their way with several special touches. Great French fries, good beer.
