I stopped eating here because every time I would called for take out the Asian woman that answered the phone was so rude!! I think she is the owner. I decided to give it one more shot since it's been several years since I've eaten here. Another lady answered the phone and she was polite. I picked up my food and everything went fine. Went I went to eat, the food was gross! Was suppose to be combo of Chinese veggies w/meat & seafood. Seafood was non existent & only a few pieces of grizzly meat. Rice was dry. I threw the whole meal in the trash. Never again! Oh and a side note, if you ask for table mustard and sweet & sour to go with your take meal, they charge you .10 cents for every little cup they give you. They can keep it all!! Where to begin?.... Long time consumer of this location. Ate here since I was 10 y.o. and am now pushing 50. Over the years it's been hit or miss. Tried the lemon chicken and General Tso Beef about a year ago and it was dreadful! On that visit there was absolutely NO flavor for the beef (minuscule amount of meat compared to the over-abundance of soggy and greasy vegetables). The lemon chicken was too dry to finish. And the overly sugared lemon sauce only added to the inpalpablility of the overcooked chicken. On this current visit a year later, the only update is that the grease hasn't been changed in quite a while. Food was inedible! Save your tatse buds and money from an overpriced menu. Got my wisdom teeth removed yesterday so I decided to order myself a large wonton soup. I ordered at 12:15 and didn't pick it up till 1:10 and was very pleasantly surprised to find my soup still hot!! They aren't stingy with the ingredients too! Some of the worst Chinese food I have ever had. It was bland and frankly mushy. Eggs rolls were not crisp like they were made hours before. I asked for Mongolia beef and kung po chicken extra spicy but neither was even the slightest spicy. Both bland! The Fried rice was disgusting. Just get white rice. I assume they can make that. Poor poor execution of even the most basic of Americanized Chinese food. And to top it off they add 3.5% for a credit card. First shop processors because you should not be paying 3.5%. Tee's has been here forever. The place is dated. But the food is delicious Americanized Chinese. Fast and courteous. I recommend the House egg rolls and House special stir fried rice. Yee's used to be one of the best Chinese places. Food always top drawer. We were really disappointed with our takeout tonight completely over priced. I know that everything has gone up in price I get that. A lot of restaurants, including Yee's, are charging the customers to cover the percent that the credit card companies charge. My husband chose a house special rice which used be the best in Slidell. That's why we always go back to Yees. But we cannot recommend it anymore. $13 for house fried rice which has a little meat in it, and believe me, the pork meat portions have gone down. That would be OK if the entrée was good, but it was not. My meal was not satisfactory in anyway. Started off at $14.50 for chicken lo mein that's a little high and when I finally got the bill it was $38.45. That included taxey & charges on the credit card. I asked the woman if she wouldn't mind just itemizing that for me and that's when I found out that $13 for my husbands entrée 14 for mine and here's the kicker. I asked for white meat chicken, extra chicken. It was an additional six dollars for white meat, three dollars for the extra chicken. I was little shock about the prospect since it was already done. I went ahead and paid it. I don't think I would've minded. The other charges so much is if I was told an advance on the phone, it would be that high, also the food wasn't that good. And I was used to use being the best and Slidell right. And I was extremely disappointed that they've gone downhill so fast,. I was reading some the other reviews that I could see that was 10 months ago and a year ago. I am so sorry to put this negative review, because for years has been a stalwart, reliable, great restaurant for so many years. It's sad to see it in decline. The lo mein was made with spaghetti noodles instead of actual lo mein. Fried rice was bland. They had a laminated flyer encouraging customers to post on Yelp. Y'all asked for a Yelp review. Very friendly for starters. Lady was welcoming and took the time to explain a few of the items on the menu. Fried rice was good, in fact I typically add soy sauce on my rice, but ate just the way the kitchen prepared it. Sweet & Sour Chicken was fried up perfectly and their egg roll had lots of stuffing. Even their Duck Sauce on the table is made from scratch. We will return again. BTW, portions were generous & lots of take home left overs. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE Left me on hold for 10 mins then proceeded to ask me if I could be there before 9 (at 8;15) bc they close the kitchen at "8:30/8:45"......you close at 9, obviously I'll be there before then, and you should probably close your kitchen at 9 or change your advertised hours. I also don't recommend making your customer feel like a burden. I asked for a sesame chicken dinner combo with shrimp fried rice, I was flat out told "no we don't do that," you would think I was asking for rice made out of gold, the way the extremely rude girl on the phone spoke to me. The worst food and service I have ever experienced in all my 33 years. I know this is long but if you're thinking of eating here PLEASE READ. My family & I chose Yee's because of the good reviews on yelp.This was our first and last time eating here. We arrived some time around 6-7pm (dinner) and waited at the desk while the 2 waitresses behind the desk bad-talked a customer and didn't acknowledge us until afterwards. The restaurant was completely empty except for us and one other couple. We were told to sit anywhere so we walked around the dining room looking for a clean table but every table was dirty/sticky with bits of rice left on them so we sat at one with the least amount of rice. We ordered a few apps and 4 dinners and had to buy the fried rice and even the sauces separately. The quality of everything from the vegetables to the meats were so below subpar it should have been totally unacceptable. The meats(chicken,beef,pork, and shrimp) all had this strange taste I can only describe as old and microwaved, definitely not fresh or made to order. The beef and pork was really chewy and fatty. The chicken was rubbery. The shrimp were those little tiny shrimp that you would find in the freezer isle at the grocery store or maybe even the tiny dehydrated shrimp that you have to soak in water. NOT fresh shrimp by any means. It was really really unbelievably bad. I agree with other reviewers who say the gravy/sauce tastes like packaged brown gravy and it was weird and disgusting for it to be on chinese food. 3 different dishes had that weird gravy. The vegetables were also rubbery and chewy. I could completely fold the coin shaped piece of carrot in half and it wouldn't snap or break. It was hard to chew too. How do you make a carrot rubbery and chewy like that? I have never seen that before in all my life. The only thing I can think of that could make a carrot that texture is maybe a dehydrated rehydrated carrot. All of the vegetables were less than fresh. My son ordered sweet and sour chicken but it didn't come with the sweet and sour sauce.We thought the waitress may have forgotten the sauce so we asked and she told us we had to buy the sweet and sour sauce separately. How can you call it sweet and sour chicken if the sweet and sour isn't included? The price was way too high for the quality and service. I see other reviewers talked about the rudeness of the waitstaff so I wont get into that.I would have gone into detail about the whole terrible experience but that would have taken too long so I just described the food. I will never forget how terrible that whole experience was. And to top it off we all got sick afterwards. Think twice before eating here. read more

Very small so you could pass this gem up! I've only ordered to go but the woman behind the counter is so friendly and they are very patient via phone and in person. I usually get the shrimp yakamein and the yee egg rolls & MAN OH MAN OH MANNNNN. The egg rolls are hugee and stuffed witH great veggies pork AND shrimp. The soup has good stock and the shrimp are cooked perfectly ! The restaurants design has a lot of sass so i have to come in now that i see tHey have alcoholic beverages . It's red dimmed lighting and has a nice Chinese theme wIth bamboo sticks and soft music. I'll be back to dine in soon!!! read more

The phone is always ringing off the hook with Togo orders- that's always our preference- but we do share plum wine while we wait for the order, and that's kind of nice. Yee's IS, WAS, and shall ALWAYS BE the absolute best chinese restaurant in Slidell. That's just all there is to it. I don't eat in the establishment very often, but when I had in the past, it is always fast, friendly service. I do get take-out from there from time to time, though and they never disappoint. The rice is perfect. The amount and quality of the sauce they use on all their dishes is perfect. My favorite dish from there, Mongolian beef, is amazing. Not the best I've ever had, but that joint is long gone. The prices are more than fair for what you get. I've not seen anyone from the Yee family working there in the front of the house for quite some time, though. However, obviously, the kitchen is still packed full of that family's good reputation, and will hopefully be for a long time to come.
