Very fast service! I got a kids meal which was one pancake, one egg, and one piece of bacon. If you get a normal pancake they're HUGE. The pancake wasn't anything special but it was good! I have never been asked how I want my bacon cooked, but they asked and then cooked it to perfection! So I was very pleased there.

Weekend morning breakfast here is a must. The servers are always friendly, courteous, and patient. Feels like eating breakfast at home. The food is always made fresh and comes to the table hot ands delicious.

Enjoyed the pancakes and coffee.

We are from Phoenix and traveling through Texas back from our visit to New Orleans. If you want to visit an old Texas diner, mostly frequently by the locals, this is your place. Good food, friendly service, good prices. It's a very busy place! We arrived at 8:15 AM on Wednesday and we were able to get a table, but it was pretty full. The ladies are friendly, but no nonsense! They are all hustling to take and deliver orders. We asked Dawn how she was doing and she kind of smiled and said I have absolutely no clue. They ordered the Dutch baby, sausage and eggs, and buttermilk pancakes. I didn't love the Dutch baby, it tasted kind of salty. But the pancakes were a solid choice, along with the eggs and sausage. We are kind of coffee snobs and not fans of diner coffee. We like a nice medium roast, which is hard to find. This coffee was actually pretty good! Once you're done, leave a nice tip for the ladies on the table and take your ticket up to the cashier to check out.

Biscuits and gravy. Big pancake

Stopped in from CA! We saw a lot of people here and thought we would have to wait for at least an hour: we only waited about 20 mins. Place looked clean and cozy and the service was good. Onto the food- the biscuits and gravy is good, the gravy comes with sausage in it and it's a hefty portion of 3 biscuits. On the side we also had bacon and hash browns which are just fine. As for the pancake, it's a big, plate size pancake. To be honest I was not a big fan of it, it tasted a bit like vanilla cake to me but the other person I was with enjoyed it and said it was very filling.

Dutch Baby with Fresh Strawberries and Whipped Cream. Delicious!! Sorry I forgot to take the pic BEFORE I was halfway done

Excellent, quick, friendly service. I was alone and sat at the counter so I was waited on right away on a Saturday morning. I wanted the Dutch baby and was informed that it would take 25-30 minutes to cook (which I expected since I have ordered it at a different restaurant before). But the wait staff kept my water and coffee filled while I waited, and the wait was worth it! I substituted the powdered sugar and lemon for fresh strawberries and whipped cream and it was DELICIOUS! I had time to people watch and ALL the food looked amazing! The breakfast burrito was especially HUGE! I didn't quite understand the fishing themed decorations that hung on the walls, but the restaurant was cute and comfortable and inviting. I HIGHLY recommend stopping by if you are passing through Amarillo.

Food, service, and the ambiance was awesome..... loved the hometown feel. Great place! Loved it!

Home run every at Bat. Came here for breakfast mostly because they open at 6 am and other places open at 7. Local place seated with ease and service was over the fence good. Decided to see if they could make a custom breakfast called the stack. Other places don't want to but this waitress/Andrea jumped on with excitement. Stack. Hash Browns with gravy then split biscuit with gravy topped with 2 scramble eggs with onion and bell pepper. Came out perfectly done. Amazing. All around great experience. Can't wait to come back thru Amarillo.

It's delicious home cooking! We eat here all the time. I wish they would have the Pancake Station menu in the evenings.

Thankfully, they close on Sunday, allowing us to find this wonderful little gem Girasol Café and Bakery. We had sandwiches on this stop, I had the ham and cheese on a Japanese roll, called the aloha, and my wife had the turkey avocado with homemade chips. Both sandwiches were prepared to perfection. I highly recommend. We also procured several pastries, including an apricot empanada that is baked not fried. Slightly warm, with a cup of coffee it was over-the-top delicious. We took away a lemon square and a granola caramel bar (I forget what the name was) but it didn't make it home, again, unexpectedly delicious. The cinnamon roll was calling feverishly for me, but unfortunately, I didn't try at this time. But the next trip to Amarillo is sooner rather than later so we can make another trip to Girasol Café and Bakery. I can't end this review without mentioning how friendly and accommodating the staff are. We we interacted with at least three, and I can say I truly felt I was appreciated as a customer at this place. Each one of them demonstrated a genuine interest in us and the enjoyment of their preparations of our food. The place is small, but on nice days they can double in size with their outside patio

While we were able to eat quickly, the food was meh and the outdoor eating area smelled like sh*t so we relocated inside. I ordered biscuits and gravy with jalapeño bacon. I LOVED the jalapeño bacon. But neither the biscuits nor the gravy tasted good. The biscuits were more like crackers--hard rather than fluffy. And biscuits (plural) is a bit misleading because it's one biscuit sliced in half and soaked in gravy. Chick-Fil-A makes tastier biscuits. But we visited this place on a Sunday and, unfortunately, Chick-Fil-A was closed. It comes with eggs, but I didn't eat the eggs because they looked like the powdered variety instead of real, whole eggs. My husband wanted a croissant but was told it would take 30 minutes to bake. Maybe we're impatient, but that seemed unreasonable for a "bakery" that had been open for a few hours at that point. So he settled for the smothered burrito. He didn't like that concotion either. The passionfruit teas we ordered were small but good, but not good enough for a return visit. $35 wasted.

Open for breakfast and lunch, Bagel Place at first glance just felt like your regular deli, but they are loaded up with tons of bagels. From your traditional bagels like Everything, Blueberry, and Cinnamon Raisin to unique ones like French Toast, Snickerdoodle, and Sun-Dried Tomato, they all looked exceptional. Inside, the atmosphere is your classic deli. You would think they're slinging Reuben bagels the way it looks inside. Their menu had plenty of sandwich options, but I was eying their current lunch special, which was made up of oven-roasted chicken, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, roasted red peppers, and ranch dressing. I got it on their everything bagel. For just over $13, it came with chips and a drink as well. It was only a short wait until our food was brought to our table. The sandwich was truly delectable. They do such a great job balancing all the different items in their sandwich, making nothing feel overdone or letting the ranch overpower the rest of it and turn the whole thing too saucy. Their bagels are really the star of the show here because they have so much flavor and are cooked perfectly. The everything bagel was seasoned exactly how you would hope, which made it an especially enjoyable sandwich. As for the staff, they were pretty on top of it and made the whole experience as seamless as possible. Bagel Place is the place. A perfect lunch. RIYL: Bagels and Places

There were a number of tables with people camped out on their computers or sitting and socializing with friends. Also a steady stream of people in and out picking up To-Go orders the whole time. With all the bustle it was a little loud at times, but we didn't have to shout to carry on conversation. Lots of locals obviously enjoying themselves. They have a wide variety of bagels and schmears as you would expect. The bagels were large and tasty. Maybe a little pricey but not expensive. The coffee was lots of fun. They have about a dozen different vacuum pots sitting at the counter filled with different coffee flavors. They give you the empty cup and then you can help yourself. Sadly, by the time we were there most of the pots were empty. Of the dozen there were only 3-4 that still had coffee in them. I tried what I could and they were all pretty good. I love the concept but the execution was lacking. Next time maybe I'll get to try some more.
