Very fast service! I got a kids meal which was one pancake, one egg, and one piece of bacon. If you get a normal pancake they're HUGE. The pancake wasn't anything special but it was good! I have never been asked how I want my bacon cooked, but they asked and then cooked it to perfection! So I was very pleased there. read more

Stopped in from CA! We saw a lot of people here and thought we would have to wait for at least an hour: we only waited about 20 mins. Place looked clean and cozy and the service was good. Onto the food- the biscuits and gravy is good, the gravy comes with sausage in it and it's a hefty portion of 3 biscuits. On the side we also had bacon and hash browns which are just fine. As for the pancake, it's a big, plate size pancake. Five stars all the way around! I grew up in Amarillo and never knew about this delicious breakfast spot. While in town recently to visit family, I met my dad and brother here for a quick but delicious breakfast! I had scrambled eggs, sausage, and grits. My dad had a burrito and my brother had the veggie omelette. They said their dishes were good as well. Our waitress was Jenifer, simply fantastic, kind, and attentive. My mom and dad come here often and Jenifer is their chosen server. Highly recommend asking for her if you stop in. Restaurant was very clean, several employees stopped by to say hi to my dad and brother (frequent guests). While they were checking in on regular customers, I also noticed they were doing the same with everyone. TLDR: Ask for Jenifer. Food is delicious! Great atmosphere and clean restaurant. read more

We are from Phoenix and traveling through Texas back from our visit to New Orleans. If you want to visit an old Texas diner, mostly frequently by the locals, this is your place. Good food, friendly service, good prices. It's a very busy place! We arrived at 8:15 AM on Wednesday and we were able to get a table, but it was pretty full. The ladies are friendly, but no nonsense! They are all hustling to take and deliver orders. We asked Dawn how she was doing and she kind of smiled and said I have absolutely no clue. They ordered the Dutch baby, sausage and eggs, and buttermilk pancakes. I didn't love the Dutch baby, it tasted kind of salty. But the pancakes were a solid choice, along with the eggs and sausage. We are kind of coffee snobs and not fans of diner coffee. We like a nice medium roast, which is hard to find. This coffee was actually pretty good! Excellent, quick, friendly service. I was alone and sat at the counter so I was waited on right away on a Saturday morning. I wanted the Dutch baby and was informed that it would take 25-30 minutes to cook (which I expected since I have ordered it at a different restaurant before). But the wait staff kept my water and coffee filled while I waited, and the wait was worth it! I substituted the powdered sugar and lemon for fresh strawberries and whipped cream and it was DELICIOUS! I had time to people watch and ALL the food looked amazing! The breakfast burrito was especially HUGE! I didn't quite understand the fishing themed decorations that hung on the walls, but the restaurant was cute and comfortable and inviting. Decided to see if they could make a custom breakfast called the stack. Other places don't want to but this waitress/Andrea jumped on with excitement. Stack. Hash Browns with gravy then split biscuit with gravy topped with 2 scramble eggs with onion and bell pepper. Came out perfectly done. Amazing. All around great experience. Great food, great prices, friendly service. My cousins and I stopped here for a late breakfast on our way from Oklahoma City to Albuquerque. We expected to wait, especially on a late Saturday morning, but our wait was only about 15 minutes. My western omelet was well cooked with a good amount of ham and vegetables. My home fries were crisp-tender and very tasty. They were good portions without being too much. My cousin's oatmeal with fruit was also good-sized. The star of the show, though, was the plate-sized pancakes! My other cousin said they tasted of vanilla and were amazing. The menu is huge, with senior options and healthy options, and our server was friendly and efficient. If we find ourselves in Amarillo again, this will be our go-to spot! read more

The review I made in 2022 was 5's across the board. I liked the eggs Benedict then but now....... NEW REVIEW 06/23/24: Things have changed. Some some good and some not so good. They have done some remodeling, the staff is just as friendly and the coffee refills keep coming. The coffee cups now match and have their logo imprinted on it. The prices have went up but not very much. #1 - taste: they use an English muffin that is toasted and a very thick ham not Canadian bacon. The eggs were poached soft . The Hollandaise sauce was glistening like it wasn't completed correctly. It comes with hash browns but were disheveled (see photo below) . All of this made the review of the food 3 stars. The rest received 5 stars. #2 -presentation : It looked disappointing . #3-price: $10.25 is a good price for Eggs Benedict. Coffee $2.50 a cup. Wow - I was blown away with the great service, tasty food, and very affordable prices (I'm from Los Angeles!) The portions were more than generous, and my boyfriend and I absolutely loved everything we had here. The pancakes are absolutely phenomenal. I got the country fried steak, and my boyfriend for the Texas steak omelette. The steak pieces in the omelette was sooooo tender and there was a generous amount of steak as well. My only regret is not having other friends with us, so we could have tried more food like the cinnamon roll and fried chicken!! I feel like, if Texas were a breakfast restaurant, it would be Ye Old Pancake House. I'm new to town and I've already been here several times. It is the definition of home cooking in an unpretentious, no-frills environment. To date, everything I've eaten here has been fantastic. I can't imagine there is anything on the menu that is subpar. It is called "Ye Old Pancake House" and true to its name, the pancakes are pretty awesome. I'd highly recommend them. The service has always been friendly and helpful. Be warned, it gets busy and you might have to wait in line if you don't show up early enough. But the wait isn't bad as they seem to be very efficient about getting people in and out. By far my favorite here in Amarillo. Tops my list - a must to visit when in Amarillo. Shoutout to Stephanie she was very warm, welcoming and wont make you feel that you're just a number. The waitress appeared, and had my coffee and water in front of me in under a minute - and even at 6:30 this place is hopping. There must have been at least a dozen other tables seated. Definitely popular with the locals! I perused the menu, though I'd really already made my choice online - the half Benedict with those famous pancakes. As someone who adores hollandaise sauce, I wasn't sure what I'd think of having green chili thrown into the mix, but it was amazing. The ham was about a quarter inch thick but so tender you could still slice through it with your fork. Honestly, this was the best Benedict I've ever had (and I've had MANY). While I'm not a pancake connoisseur, I can say these absolutely hit the spot. Fluffy with plenty of whipped butter and syrup served on the side - and let me say that if these are "silver dollar" size so don't know what I'd go with a full size.
