We were lucky to find this place! We stopped in for a late breakfast and to grab some COFFEE! Food and drink were outstanding. I had a delicious ham and cheese croissant that had thick slices of country ham. The Hubs had the breakfast burrito which was plated in an interesting way but was also delicious. Employees were so friendly and helpful and eager to make sure we were pleased with our dishes and coffee. Again, this was a great find! Seek it out!

I finally got back in here a couple mornings ago when I happened be up especially early and remembered about them when I was deciding where to go for breakfast and coffee. They stop serving breakfast at 10am so it's hard for me to make it by then. I wanted to look over the menu before I decided so I let a couple people in line go ahead of me while I read all the boards. I don't think there is a paper menu that you can take to a table and look at but I didn't ask to be sure. The special of the day was Eggs Benedict for only $8.50 which is a very good price for that and I figured they would probably do a great job. Other than that it looked like they only had sandwich and pastry type foods for breakfast, nothing in the bacon and eggs category. I went ahead and ordered the Eggs Benedict and a cup of coffee. The coffee was delicious and I didn't expect anything less from them. The Eggs Benedict were also wonderful. They didn't include any sides but it was a generous portion, with good quality and well prepared. I would recommend it and I would order it again. Unlike many places the Hollandaise Sauce tasted made from scratch as I'm sure it was. It did not congeal unappetizingly as it cooled off like most other places that probably just use a powdered mix or something out of a jar. This was the real deal. Surprisingly, the toasted English Muffin stayed crisp to the very end. That hardly ever happens with ham juices and egg yolk running all over it. It didn't taste like it had butter on it but whatever oil they may have used had a good flavor, again, unlike other places where the oil tastes funny. Oh, and there were three poached eggs, not just two. All in all it was a very successful breakfast for about $12 total with coffee and tax. I suspected the cook might be one of the owners because he checked on me two or three times to make sure I was happy with my meal which I was very impressed about. He exhibited all the friendliness that I felt was missing from my last trip and was truly interested in his customers being satisfied. I was.

Outstanding. This place leaves me speechless. Majority of the time there is a significant line/completely full restaurant but they always seem to accommodate well. Plan on waiting a total of 20 minutes but it's so worth it. The proportions for anything you get are huge. I typically get the house salad with chicken, or a house salad. You cannot go wrong with anything, really! Although the food is a bit expensive, it's great quality and you won't be disappointed. At least I never am :) Oh and majority of the restaurant is filled with old ladies and I think it's adorable.

Ham egg and cheese croissant!!!

This is a cute little coffee shop/restaurant in a really nice location. They offer a full range of specialty coffee along with gourmet meal options. For what you get the prices really are not that high. If you have some extra time for breakfast I would definitely recommend going by roosters and getting some coffee and their ham egg and cheese croissant.

Roosters cafe is honestly a hidden gem in Amarillo. My friend introduced this place to me after a day of AP testing back in junior year of highschool and ever since then, I have always loved visiting here. Roosters main menu contains salads, sandwiches, and quiche. The main stars of the joint are their amaaaazing, impressive, drool-worthy entrees of the day ( which changes every week). I kid you not, most of the time, I would have no clue what certain entrees are but I have full trust that I would love anything that's provided, and I do! There has yet to be an entree that dissapoints. Everything is well prepared and full of flavor! The desserts...it's heaven. There are many choices of pies and cakes that are sure to make you drool and daydream. The house salad is also a great option, as it comes with fresh slices of strawberries and walnuts, covered in a light dressing. The interior decorations are beautiful. Roosters contain art pieces on the wall that can be bought if they really interest you.

A wonderful family owned restaurant. Homemade everything! The quiche is amazing, daily specials, and custom orders. Service is impeccable and the have an outdoor area to relax with a cup of cappuccino.

Had my first experience at Roosters this week for lunch with friends. Very quaint and small; the big comfy couch, paintings and some stained glass give it a pleasant cafe feel. They had several 'specials' including quiche and chicken salad, which both ended up being quite good. The chicken florentine quiche included a rye roll (just so-so), and a salad that was just wonderful. Raisins, pineapples, strawberries on a bed of fresh lettuce. The chicken salad sandwich came with gourmet potato chips. Good coffee and tea, with a good selection of both. I will definitely go again. I am curious about the meatloaf sandwhich....

First time eating here. Really good food. Kind of like a mix of franks bakery, west tx rx, and girasols. I had the spinach turkey sandwich, comes with soup, (tomato basil for me and it was great) and chips. All for only $11. Worth it.

Everything was great. Enjoyed the mocha very much. They have patio seating on the side, and it's shady. Really nice.

Bagel Place - Breakfast Bagel

Bagel Place

Open for breakfast and lunch, Bagel Place at first glance just felt like your regular deli, but they are loaded up with tons of bagels. From your traditional bagels like Everything, Blueberry, and Cinnamon Raisin to unique ones like French Toast, Snickerdoodle, and Sun-Dried Tomato, they all looked exceptional. Inside, the atmosphere is your classic deli. You would think they're slinging Reuben bagels the way it looks inside. Their menu had plenty of sandwich options, but I was eying their current lunch special, which was made up of oven-roasted chicken, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, roasted red peppers, and ranch dressing. I got it on their everything bagel. For just over $13, it came with chips and a drink as well. It was only a short wait until our food was brought to our table. The sandwich was truly delectable. They do such a great job balancing all the different items in their sandwich, making nothing feel overdone or letting the ranch overpower the rest of it and turn the whole thing too saucy. Their bagels are really the star of the show here because they have so much flavor and are cooked perfectly. The everything bagel was seasoned exactly how you would hope, which made it an especially enjoyable sandwich. As for the staff, they were pretty on top of it and made the whole experience as seamless as possible. Bagel Place is the place. A perfect lunch. RIYL: Bagels and Places

Ever since my first adventure to Amarillo, I have made a point to visit Palace Coffee Co. This place has always been there for me, and I have always thought they do a pretty bang-up job. I had not been back to Amarillo in a few years. After graduating college, there was not much reason to make the trip until I started dating my girlfriend, whose family lives in Amarillo. Wanting to be present and involved with her family meant making the drive up from Austin, a 7+ hour trek that feels like one for the history books. Since I was back in town, revisiting Palace felt like an easy decision. They have never done me wrong. I have always liked this café. It has great energy, solid music, and a clean space. The darker, almost matte black aesthetic was comforting back when I was still in school and visiting Amarillo. I had gotten work done here before, so while working remotely during this trip, Palace felt like the right place to be productive. We arrived on a Wednesday morning. I logged onto the Wi-Fi, plugged into one of their outlets, and got to work. My girlfriend was there finishing up some schoolwork for Texas Tech, so it was shaping up to be a productive morning. When we ordered, she got a cappuccino with chocolate, and I ordered a lavender latte with oat milk. I also grabbed one of their cinnamon twists for breakfast. Not long after, our drinks were brought to our table. From where we were sitting, we could see the roasting, packaging, and preparation of coffee for distribution in the back, which was a really cool view. There was also a new barista being trained on different coffee methods, which was nice to see. As for my lavender oat milk latte, it was good. I genuinely think Palace makes some of the best lattes in Amarillo, and I still have not found another place in town that tops them. That said, I am not sure if it was nostalgia or just an off day, but it was not quite as good as I remembered. The espresso did not feel as strong or forward as usual. It was not bad at all, and they still did a great job, but I remember it being more comparable to some of my favorite coffee shops across Texas. This time, it felt just a step below that memory. That said, it was still very good, and it could have easily been an off day or my own palate. The cinnamon twist was big, filling, and excellent. I liked it, my girlfriend liked it, and everyone was happy. Palace clearly knows what they are doing and how to create a great experience alongside a great latte. For that reason alone, it remains a must-stop when visiting Amarillo. RIYL: coffee in the Yellow City
