Located inside Jell & Chill, Cupertino Village.

6,000+ locations and counting so must be lit, right?! Yang's Braised Chicken is a Chinese franchise from Shandong province serving one dish only: Huang Men Ji Fan, Braised Chicken Rice. They've softly opened their first NorCal location inside Cupertino Village (shared space with Jell & Chill) offering takeout and indoor dining. This plaza is a hub for Chinese regional restaurants so the location makes sense. M E N U * Yang's Braised Chicken Bowl: Regular (mild), Authentic (medium), and Spicy ($13.99 each) F O O D * 正宗 Authentic Braised Chicken Rice ($13.99): https://tinyurl.com/yeys4dej *** Medium spicy This is my first time trying Yang's so I have no idea how it compares to the franchises in China. I didn't bother looking at their yelp reviews for their SoCal locations which has a 3-3.5 star average rating. The braised chicken tasted very homestyle but not in good way...like something anyone can throw together last minute at home. There was a generous amount of boneless dark chicken pieces (kinda dry) with shiitake mushrooms and ginger slices. The gravy was soupy and underwhelming in taste; very salty with a slight herbal flavor. Heat levels corresponds to the amount of jalapeño. Medium was barely spicy so if you like it hot, go for the spicy or request extra spicy. Rather large portion; enough for two meals. S E R V I C E Very friendly staff with fast service. My takeout order was ready in 5 minutes. A M B I A N C E Shared space with Jell & Chill - trendy, nightclub vibes. P A R K I N G Chaotic parking with tight spaces at Cupertino Village. Overall, Yang's Braised Chicken Rice was pretty meh (tossed it after several bites). If you only have one "signature" dish on the menu, that dish has to BE solid. Hope they work out their kinks and others have a better experience!

Yang's Braised Chicken Rice shares a space with Jell & Chill in Cupertino Village. I had been to this chain near Disneyland, so when I learned it had opened up recently in the Bay Area, si decided to check it out. Their specialty -- in fact, "one dish restaurant" disclaimer -- is the Braised Chicken Rice in three levels of spiciness (Regular, Authentic, and Spicy). Originally, I was going to order from the self-serve kiosk, but only the Jell & Chill menu is available on there. The young lady manning the counter was friendly and helpful as I placed my order. I took a seat and admired the decor. One side had the Jell & Chill decor (left side facing in) and the other Yang's (right). My order was soon brought to my table. I ordered the Authentic, which wasn't too spicy. While eating, there were several walk-ins and online orders picking up their food. Simple and tasty. If I am in the area in need of something to eat, I would return here.

This one dish place is inside Jell & Chill but as it's own restaurant it is not part of the Snackpass app to accumulate points. We are here to try the chicken dish anyways. The menu is simple, the dish only has spicy level options. You can choose to add broccoli and or potatoes for $1.5 each. For the amount in there though I think it's a bit of a rip off. Service is good when the cashier helped us place the order and food came quickly. But to me this is just a very normal chicken dish with slices of dried mushrooms, chicken, soy sauce and maybe some oyster sauce, very easy to replicate at home. It's a bit too salty for me but if you mix in a big bowl of rice it can be a good dish for kids.

Fairly new spot that shares a space with Jell and Chill. First location in NorCal but chain has something like 6000+ locations in Asia. Ambiance: Pretty standard casual spot. Food comes out really quickly, seemed like most people were doing takeout. Food: Was my first time trying this dish so don't have a strong frame of reference. Overall pretty decent but expected the broth to have a little bit more of an "oomph". Mostly just tasted like a herby/ginger soup and would have liked something a bit heartier with the rice. 4/5 Definitely a solid option, especially on a cold day but would expect a one dish restaurant to make that dish with a little more pizazz! May give it another try once they have a few more months under their belt.

The menu is extensive but I quickly settled on the salad bowl with spicy chicken. Didn't take long and my name was called and my to-go order was bagged and on the counter. Not being a rookie at this, I checked for utensils and napkins (to go, you know!). Bummer - a miss on both counts. Napkins - easy. Fork/spork/chop sticks - not so. I had to spin around a few times like a dog show pup before determining there are none available to the public. Like a restroom in the middle of nowhere, you have to ask. But - there's no one to ask. They're all busy putting together the next hot orders. Fortunately, someone else had food ordered so I grabbed someone's attention and quickly got my utensil. I waved at my friends and out the door I went. The salad was amazing. Loved the crispy chicken, veggies, and nicely balanced amount of dressing. And the portions - plenty! I made two meals out of it and wasn't disappointed. I'll be back.

It was now Winter in the Bay Area, and this particular late afternoon (05JAN2026) it was ¡WET!…read more I had stowed our HPVs (her upright and my "FrankenBike") under a stout tarp and we were motoring from our most favorite #1 grandchildren in the pouring rain (I even put the wipers on low) when I felt the hankering for chicken. A week before, I had cycled to this eatery and found it full of customers enjoying, to my surprise, cooked chicken. I didn't have time to queue up for a meal, but resolved to return in the future. It was in this downpour that seemed a good thing to do--the torrential weather would reduce the wait time. Parking in the small lot was good--plenty of open spaces. I (gimp)walked up the ramp and entered the nearly vacant super clean space, pleased to not be in a queue. Sure enough, I was the only person inside other than the cashier & chef. Now my concern was deciding upon the specific dish; finally choosing the Starbird 2.0 sandwich only--not the meal that included fries and a drink. The pleasant cashier quickly had my selection bagged and ready to go, and my credit card completed the transaction. After collecting numerous napkins, I returned to our (motor)vehicle and my much better half, who had patiently waited for me. Once back at our apartment, I finally got a look at my purchase. It was exactly as promised, crispy chicken slices between two buns, along with a small pile of veggies & sauce. I devoured it rather quickly, washing it all down with iced 0% milk. ¿Maybe I should have gotten the meal; I could've eaten more of the delicious food! Anyway, I was glad to have had my first ever experience with this lovely chicken eatery on this drizzling late afternoon, and look forward to returning in the future. It has my coveted "iWheel of Approval!"

I love chicken sandwiches and I wanted to try their classic chicken sandwich :)…read more The sandwich was surprisingly really TASTY!! They put a massive tender into the sandwich with fresh tomatoes and a slaw with a really good dressing. To be honest, the dressing was the best part of the slaw, and it carried a lot of the flavor in the sandwich. The chicken was juicy, tender, and crispy!! I really enjoyed it! You can order on their mobile kiosks to the side, and they will ask you for your phone number to let you know when the order is ready. The seating area was both indoors and outdoors. I would imagine it would be nice in the summer when it is much warmer to sit outside!

It is inside the food court next to Ranch 99, and the parking is easy since the lot is huge. There're plenty of Asian options around, and you can mix and match dishes or grab a drinks. The ordering process is smooth. You choose your cooking style, then pick white meat, dark meat, or a mix, and even whether you want the chicken skin. Chicken rice is highly recommended. The prices are very reasonable, and their packaging is great for takeout. The chicken thigh was cooked perfectly. The meat was moist with soy sauce and sesame oil seasoning. You also get to choose two sauces for the rice. The scallion ginger sauce and the Singaporean chilli sauce were both so flavorful and honestly took the whole dish to another level. I also have to call out the chicken soup that comes with the meal. You can really taste that it's made from chicken bones, and it is seasoned lightly enough that it doesn't leave us feeling thirsty afterward. Solid option!

Chicken is tender and flavorful and I prefer this style of hainan chicken over the Cantonese style. This place also has other sauces (I love the spicy Singaporean sauce but it has a kick) in addition to the regular sauce. You order through the kiosk and pick up at the other end of the counter. This location is inside the small food court next to 99 Ranch and the food court is basically dying so I'm hoping it stays there. The noodle and the boba place pretty much died already. Service is good and courteous for a to go place.

The breading on the fried chicken was just right for me - no too thick/ not too doughy/ does not scrap my mouth. If you like spicy, don't skimp out on their powder- it's amazing. I didn't really taste the spicy on our chicken (still flavorful), so the additional powder was definitely needed. Oh - don't expect service either - it's kinda rare to catch someone by the front.
