The service was great. Owners are nice and welcoming. As a friendly competition, we liked this restaurant better than the Tracy one! The rice wasn't as salty but all in jest. Both the Tracy and Lodi location are excellent. The food comes out fresh so your stomach will need to wait a bit for the food to come out but well worth it. I have never had a bad experience here, but today I had a chicken shawarma bowl. The cook grabbed a bowl that was loosely covered with foil from almost ground level, threw it on the grill, squirted it with water( I think) several times then when he was done put the rest of the chicken back in the bowl under the counter. But then I remembered where I was and although I was only going to give this 4 stars because it was very very very good but the portion was a tad small, I'm feeling generous and giving it a +1 for a good meal for the location and because the photograph of the owner's grandpop on the wall and the Yafa's story made me smile. As a vegetarian, I greatly appreciate their variety of entrees and the falafel. The deserts are amazing, too. And often I'll order a thing of hummus and pita chips to take home for later. I was so excited when they announced they were opening a Yafa in Lodi! It is a great addition to this city. I went in the first day that they opened.The inside of the store is beautiful and very clean.The staff was super friendly and made sure that my order was perfect. My family and I all ordered something different on the menu so we can try it all. We got a combo chicken gyro bowl,falafel sliders, SHAWARMA fries, and a chicken shawarma and a side of kale slaw. OHHH MYYY GOOODDDDNEESSSS! The shawarma fries was an explosion of flavors. Absolutely delicious! The combo bowl was very fulfilling and my husband and I loved it. My kids really enjoyed the shawarma wrap and seasoned fries. The falafel was the perfect combination of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and putting it on a slider made it even better. I love that I have a different option to take my family out to eat at. The place was super inviting. My son spilled a drink and I was embarrassed and they were so nice about it and cleaned it up right away. Unfortunately we didn't enjoy our food at Yafa Hummus. We had a group of 5 come in and we got gyro wraps, a bowl and a traditional schwarma wrap. The soda machine was broken so the only drinks were water or a few fruit bottled sodas. The only thing that the group liked was the French fries the kids got. We didn't even save our leftovers.
