At 12:35 am, we started calling random escape rooms to figure out if they could get us in. Perplexity said they had rooms available if we were to show up right then. So our decision to try out Perplexity Escape Games was somewhat impromptu. And it turned out to be one of the most fun nights I've had in recent memory (that didn't require medications/ointments the next day). I've done escape rooms before, but Perplexity set the bar high and I'm pretty sure other escape rooms won't seem nearly as fun now: - Firstly, Perplexity's escape scenarios aren't limited to one room. With our choice, there were two rooms that we had to work our way through. And there were a lot of clues. - Secondly, some of the rooms incorporate jump scares. So not only do you have to get out of a room in a set amount of time, you have to deal with the anxiety of trying not to wet yourself at random moments. - Thirdly, there are some great props that help add to the creepy (or outright scary) ambiance. All of these aspects result in a much more immersive experience than other escape rooms I've seen (at least where I'm from, I can't speak for other escape rooms in the GTA). The guys who got us ready for the room were very helpful, and even accommodating to someone in our party who struggles a little with being trapped in smaller spaces. I appreciated that they were considerate of our concerns. The guy who took care of the paperwork upfront offered us a discount (around 10-20% or so, I don't remember) for checking in on Facebook and tagging everyone who was there. And it looks like Yelp check-ins get you similar discounts as well. All told, I spent $33.99 USD for two people, which according to Google comes to approximately $44 CAD. I've paid more for crappier escape rooms. Perplexity was worth every dollar spent. I look forward to the next time I'm in town so that we can try another room.

We tried the new Blind Tiger room which has a 9/10 difficulty and so far 0% escape rate... we were convinced we'd get on the board LOL. There were 4 of us and the room is probably perfect for a 4-6 people group. Will not spoil anything! Usually I'd complain about the difficulty if we didn't make it through but it was definitely properly scored at 9/10. Still really fun. Staff were so kind and helpful, would come back here to try another room. Thanks Captive Mississauga team you guys were awesome!! :)

My one advice would be to PAY ATTENTION TO THE DETAILS! We didn't, so we ended up asking for help again and again agd again... The waiting lounge was spacious and the staff was friendly and helpful. They even thew in an extra personal touch that was really cute and very much on point! Let's just say the escape experience is not just limited to your 60 minutes. The only thing I thought was a bit hindering was the lack of timer in the room, so had no idea how long we wasted on a puzzle. Having done literally 90% of their rooms, I would return to do the last couple of rooms!

It was a really big team work job. I loved the use of technology and riddles combined. The red time count down clock really made us feel the rush. They probably do need to edit the last puzzle cause I still don't know how that fits in with everything. Otherwise I had a lot of fun. I came back to do the music room and it was decent, the sound mixer puzzle really needs to be edited because it was so hard to input the answer in. one of the locks were also rusted shut. Lol.

The explanations prior to game start weren't well explained, and it seemed the staff working were less enthusiastic about helping and more adamant about getting us to post on social media about our time after the fact.

Staff are helpful, the rooms and their moving parts are well maintained, and the overall facility is pretty clean. Brief commentary on two of the rooms: 1) The ninja room is superbly designed. It's playable, fun, and one clue clearly leads to the next in a logical fashion. Be aware that one of the challenges requires a good deal of patience and hand-eye coordination. As escape rooms go, ninja is a shining example of how to do it right. 2) By contrast, the mummy room is interesting but suffers from some (in my opinion) design flaws. After overcoming the first couple puzzles, one is quickly saturated with what I'll call "clue overload". There are too many partially-complete pieces of information, which leads to a chaotic rather that methodological progression. Moreover, the extreme low light conditions make an already tough room nearly impossible. One other word to the wise: don't arrive too early. Waiting area quarters are super cramped. Nevertheless, this is a great escape room operation. We'll be back next Toronto visit.

My favourite Escape Room!…read more I haven't done many Escape Rooms but Looking Glass Adventures exceeded my expectations. We were a party of 5 and chose to do the "It Came From the Attic!" which is 1hr long. We called and made a same-day reservation for 10:30pm. Even though we were one of the last groups of the night, the staff were very kind, patient, and lively. Once you step inside the main entrance the decor and ambience is very unique and matches the Escape Room vibes. For the escape room itself, the props, music, lighting, and even the scent was very cool and unique. I appreciate how you could use the telephone inside the escape room to ask for hints when you're stuck or stumped. I do plan on coming back and trying out their other escape rooms.

This was my second time at Escape Games Canada! They always have new rooms available so that's…read morealways nice. Once you check in and pay, they give you a ticket that you return upon entering the room. There's also a locker that they assign to you that's locked, so you can put your belongings in there. They have a good mix of horror and non-scary rooms which is appreciated. My first visit was to their Pathogen room, which we successfully escaped from! It was very interesting with all the puzzles and everything made sense. I believe we made it with 5 mins or so to spare and apparently there are different endings depending on what you do to solve the puzzles! My most recent visit was to The Ark, a non-scary room. The puzzles were interesting and made sense, except the final one. Even after one of the staff members explained it to us, none of us understood I'll definitely be back! I want to check out their latest room - Heist of Black Bart. I think they also have two additional new rooms coming up.

I'm surprised they haven't won more awards for their rooms or close contender bragging rights. Clue: 4* Some rooms have hints on a screen and follows your progress based on where you've progressed. Some rooms are a white button and they'll come into your room to assist you, no walkie talkies thank goodness! Lighting 3* They feel it is enough and the main focus clues are properly illuminated. We feel it's still too dark to read some clues like book titles and request their flashlight every time. Staff 5* All staff here over the years have been awesome! Friendly, passionate,mature and all game lovers themselves. Game puzzles 3*-5* Some are well done, clever and creative. no locks and combos and they progressed to top of the line puzzles. We did find not all were well timed and one finale puzzle just plain lazy as if they lost their puzzle maker. We've done almost all their rooms and even ones they've replaced. The Missing Will: so much potential at the start but with an unsatisfactory end! It's like they ran out of time or money as the puzzles did not compare. The ending was too sudden and we stood there having won but confused this was it instead of their usual wrap up theme. It's not scary at all but with a supernatural theme. It's also perfect for larger groups or friends with adhd. The roles you pick can help give clues and hints for solving your character puzzles aside from the main ones. This is also what makes it frustrating for us, as we want to clear all puzzles and it's not possible/necessary. Pathogen: interesting how the game can change based on your progress, choices and hints. We won with a minute thirty to spare. Bring a friend that reads everything as ours rushed before following orders, one that isn't colour blind, and one that isn't afraid to go somewhere alone. Not scary on this room. Noriko: scary theme! For me it wasn't the doll props and flashy lighting but the background music and special effect noise. I couldn't concentrate very well as I found that triggering and this had the darkest rooms with poorest lighting at their establishment. Tip: Bring a friend that is musical, don't bring friends afraid of scary movies! Crossroads: dark thriller vibe, liked the choice to choose a decision to effect ending, the changing atmosphere to fit the evolving story and ending was fun. My friends liked this room a lot and played it two more times after our win and couldn't break out with the other two groups. Lounge: only standing room now. No board games offered anymore. They sell canned pop and waters, have 3 clean washrooms. Photo board is self run at the entrance on a timer but terrible angle and background. $10 off for back to back games. Free game on ACTUAL DAY of your birthday.
