My friends and I did 13 Sedah Ave, and we all had a lot of fun. The decor and atmosphere was immersive, and we really did feel like we were in horror movie. I didn't think it was all that scary, but half the team (4 out of 8 of us) was incapacitated from fear, so I guess it was scary, haha. A fun note is that if you're not in shape at all, you're going to fail the physical challenge. It was the funniest part of the game; I laughed (and groaned) a lot. Anyway. Scariest escape room? Nah, I've been to a scarier escape room. Still fun, though. I'd recommend this game to people who are into interactive horror and physical challenge. read more

Me and my friends did the red market escape room. When we got there the staff were really friendly and helpful. We watched a video on the room and the rules then given a debrief. The escape room was way better than I expected. The puzzles were challenging enough and very creative. Although they have some scary escape rooms, this one wasn't terrifying. It's good for those who get scared easily or don't think they can handle 13 sedah avenue. In the end, we managed to make it out "alive". These escape rooms are the best I have been to yet and I'm excited to come back and try the others. read more

I wouldn't waste my time here. Sadly (or not maybe?) this was not a very scary escape room as it claims to be, especially on sites like blogto.com. Go to the one at Downsview or Omescape in Markham. I came here with about 7 others and we did the 13 Sedah I believe. The thing is, I get scared in almost any and every scary/horror film, even if it was obvious to have a $15 production budget. Bottom line is, I get scared VERY easily. The wasn't really a terrifying storyline, many of puzzles were number locks and it just didn't feel challenging. Or maybe I'm just old and jaded now.. Hah. Jokes. Sort of. I am comparing this with several other escape rooms I've done in the past in the GTA, so if this is your first time at an escape room, it might be pretty good. read more

My friends and I did the 13 Sedah Ave escape room and it was the thrill of our lives! Puzzles had a nice level of difficulty and the immersion in the story is really good. This room is not for the faint of heart, plus, there's a physical challenge that is not suitable for everyone. There are also stairs that need to be used in order to move, so take that into consideration if you have some kind of accessibility need, this may not be the room for you. Also, staff was just amazing from booking to leaving the room! There's parking and they have lockers. Facility is also very clean and neat. They have some cool props for you to use when taking photos! :) read more

Pretty cool spot! My friends and I did 13 Sedah Ave. It's a cool room if you like horror. The puzzles and story weren't my favourite; it felt like the story didn't have much relevance after going through the puzzles. The atmosphere is definitely eerie so it sets the mood. It's one of the larger escape rooms (it fits 8 people) so it can get overwhelming distinguishing what's part of a puzzle or what's just there for decoration. The puzzles were repetitive with number locks, so it could improve with different puzzle designs. There are physical challenges, so come prepared with good footwear! The staff here are very friendly and cool. They definitely made it a nice experience. read more

WHAT I REALLY LIKE: free within SEVEN (7!) days of your birthday. Not limited to the day off (because you're probably busy doing something else etc). So 7 days before or 7 days after which is get if you have friends or family with close birthdays. So that is sooooo amazing of them to do so Thank you NoWayOut Escape! I've been to many escape room facilities in Toronto and as I've done most of the good ones the city has to offer so now branching out west to Sauga. I didn't have high expectations but I was very impressed from the start! Back story of the rooms/games and made trailers too. Even the cute animation of the rules instead of the usual verbal instruction or a slideshow was a nice touch. It is in the middle of nowhere so makes the environment realistic haha. We did The Red Market out of all the 3 rooms - ll sound pretty scary as I wouldn't bring my mom to any of them (The other two a Van abduction simulator and the other is a haunted house situation) and this one is probably the least scary (I like playing these with my family and I'm also a scary cat). What they lack in production/prop value, they really make up on how thoughtful the puzzles and clues were. They all made sense and there's tech involved which is always fun. There are some board games in the lobby, basic ones but you're not really there to play board games it's a nice bonus and it's a comfy atmosphere to chill. The staff (one in particular) was very friendly and cheerful so made us like the place anymore. So happy they're making another location in Toronto! My friends and i did 13 Sedah Ave. This was not our first escape room so we are comparing this experience to others. Going in very excited because our group only does scary escape rooms.They say on there website that this is "CANADA'S SCARIEST ESCAPE ROOM" .To say the very least the only scary thing about 13 Sedah Ave is how big of a lie this is. ( Our group ranges from people who don't scare at all to people would get scared of everything so we had a large range of opinions for this one.) Besides the false advertising, this game lacked story and it seemed the room was not reset properly. For example locks would open without effort. The Challenges made zero sense as to why they were in the space as well. When you get close to the end there is a very pointless fishical challenged that does make much sense to the very little story you have going on. Or why it would be located where it is. Needless to say this had been the worst escape room we have been to and we very much do not recommend it to anyone looking for a 'Scary' or difficult room. Myself and most of the group felt we were entitled to a refund because of the false advertising. read more

Fantastic staff. It worked out to $25 per person (tax included). My group picked "The Red Market" which ended up being perfect for 4 people. There were 5 rooms to unlock and each puzzle was sufficiently challenging. We escaped with about 2 minutes left! Excited to go again when they change the scenarios! read more

I have wanted to try this establishment for the longest time. Unfortunately, The Van Escape is no longer available; but we managed to book 13 Sedah Ave this time around. They definitely did not disappoint! The lobby is simple with a small collection of board games. They have a fridge with drinks that you can purchase. Getting to the room involved 3 videos - one giving you the synopsis of the room (which we somehow voted to not see for some reason), one giving you basic rules of the establishment, and one on the back story of the room. From the second the door opened to the room, it was full on immersion. Not a second did I forget what the theme of the room was. If you're looking for a good horror-themed room, this would definitely be worth it! I would highly recommend for the scare factor, the immersion of the experience, and the panic that comes with each new space that became available. Definitely wear shoes that will stay on your feet and clothes that are comfortable and practical for you to move around in. I would not recommend it for the faint of heart (one of my friends had to leave halfway because of how terrified they were) or children. My friends and I came all the way from Scarborough to do the 13 Sedah Avenue room, "Canada's Scariest Escape Room". The lobby area of NOWAYOUT is exceptionally clean and there are board games to play while waiting for your room. Staff is super, super friendly and chill. As for the room, there were some neat and original ideas that I enjoyed--without giving too much away, one has to do with a backpack and the other, as many have mentioned, is a largely physical challenge (that I liked, but is difficult). The atmosphere is definitely scary. Bring at least one or two brave people or you will not finish the room. Decor and overall look of the room were amazing; right from the start, before even entering you are met with 110% effort in appearance (as someone mentioned in another review, the door matched the room theme greatly). However, the puzzles were not the greatest in my opinion. It was hard to distinguish what needed to be dealt with and what was just there for show, causing a lot of disorganization and time wasted. You will also waste a lot of time if your group is like mine and has to move in huge units due to extreme fear. The ending is pretty chilling. Also, the storyline of the room (characters, background story, etc.) was a little eh, and could be better in terms of relevance to the room. What ends up making up for the eh puzzles and eh storyline are the amazing decor and super friendly workers. Also, their picture-taking area is very smart (you'll understand what I mean when you see it) and clean. I definitely want to try The Red Market! Just gotta wait til they roll out a location in east Toronto. read more

My friends and I did - 13 Sedah Ave. Sadly, this was the worst escape room that I've ever done. Nothing scary about it, no storyline and puzzles that didn't make sense. The "physical challenge" was also very strange as a house wouldn't have such a contraption to have to navigate. It was as if the creators just ran out of ideas and put something random in the house to try and make the game longer. There was no suspense or fear factor in the game at all. This is not my first escape room, so obviously I'm comparing it to others. However there were others in my room for which this was their first escape room and they were really disappointed. If you want a truly scary/intense escape room in Toronto, I would suggest The Unknown at Escape Games. That was the BEST escape room I've ever done and the creepy factor is high, the puzzles make sense and you're completely immersed in the experience. read more

I've done Red Market and Van Escape. I did Red Market last December with 4 other people. 2 of us had only done one other escape room, while the other 3 were first timers. The environment was really well done, and the puzzles matched the theme very well. We got out with 12 minutes to spare using two hints. I did Van Escape last weekend with my husband, which was also the last weekend before they closed the room. I've done 9 escape rooms now, and this one ranks as my second favourite (behind Escape the 6's Firefighter Rescue). The immersion in this room was amazing. The puzzles were very creative and suited the theme perfectly, and the use of tech was very well done. We got out with 15 minutes to spare, using all 3 hints (although I asked for one hint by mistake, but we realized we would have needed it anyway). This room is being replaced by an earthquake simulator escape, which I definitely want to try. In the meantime, I'm definitely returning to try 13 Sedah. read more

Did 13 Sehad Ave with 7 friends for my fiance's birthday. He loved the escape room we did for my birthday so I decided to look for a horror themed escape room as a surprise to him (surprised got ruined but that was ok). I hasn't done a lot of escape rooms but this one was amazing!! I was so impressed with the level of creativity and effort put into this escape room. Multiple rooms, live actors and spooky sightings. Two of our teammates were more on the spooked side but it was a lot of fun. We got about 80% through the room but it was awesome! Loved the puzzles and the fact that everything was dark made it a lot more fun. One of the best experiences I've ever had and will definitely come back to try the otherrooms. Highly recommend to everyone who likes puzzles and horror!! read more

Everyone in the group I went with was thoroughly impressed by all the detail and thought that went in to the puzzles. This escape room was a blast!! This is by far the most exciting escape room my friends and I have gone to. The staff here are very friendly and helpful, and the puzzles were definitely challenging inside 13 sedah ave. This horror themed room is definitely an experience like no other and keeps you on your toes at all times while progressing through the variety of rooms and puzzles. So I will respect the company and not give anything away, but I will be honest and say that 13 Sedah Ave was highly disappointing. It should not be advertised as Canada's scariest escape room because it's not scary at all. Also, some of the clues are misleading and cause you to waste time, running around in circles; others are just impossible to solve. No fear factor. Lame story line...This room could be a lot better, but planning needs to go back to the drawing board. read more

I did the Red Market. Thoroughly enjoyed this room! I've been to quite a few escape rooms around the city and found this to be one of the funnest ones. It was only me and one of my friends so I kinda assumed we'd have a hard time with the room. It was definitely challenging but don't be hesitant if you don't have a large group, it's still possible to beat! Best escape room in the Toronto/Mississauga area, I've been to almost all of them and NOWAYOUT outshines them all. 13 Sedah Ave is exactly what you'd expect from a scary escape room. No cheesy props like many of the other escape rooms in the area use. Well thought out rooms, physical challenges, and lots of technology involved makes the rooms a very immersive experience.
