I reached out to several auto locksmiths via Yelp for a price quote to program a second key for a 2023 Ford Expedition. Xpress Locksmith responded quickly and with the best pricing. They were also able to come out on a weekend. It took a while for them to program my car, and they explained that they had an issue finding a key fob with the correct frequency to work with my car. They also showed me their counter with like 20+ keys that all looked just like mine and said none of them have the right frequency so the buttons don't work. I had contacted a number of locksmiths and many responded saying they could only program up to the 2022 model year, and the others were about $100 more expensive, so I am just really thankful that they were willing to come out and work on my car. It took about an hour and they eventually got an aftermarket key working for me, instead of an OEM Ford key. He also showed me how to use the push to start button on my key. You need to push the lock button in addition to the push to start button twice, and hold the push to start button for a couple seconds on the second push. I had just been pushing the push to start button twice and not getting it to work. That was really helpful. There was one hiccup. I would have never noticed this except that my car's dashboard monitor displays the number of admin keys programmed to start the vehicle under the my key general settings tab. The hiccup was that based on my car's dashboard monitor, my car was saying I now had more keys programmed than I had keys in my possession. It appears they forgot to remove a couple OEM keys from my car's computer that they added but where the key fob buttons didn't work due to the unsupported transmitter frequency. Unfortunately, the car also doesn't let the consumer change anything there and even if it did, I'd have no idea which keys to delete. Anyway, I didn't want extra keys that could start my car sitting around (mine is push to start) so I reached out to them. They responded immediately and offered to delete it without charge. They also were willing to come back on a weekend and they fixed the issue today. Everything is working fine now. The are very responsive and professional. Thank you! read more

My house came with Kwikset locks and the front door handle (i.e., the bottom piece), Kwikset Arlington polished brass, totally fell apart yesterday. (Fortunately it has a separate deadbolt on top so my house is no less secure than it was before, in case any burglars out there were thinking of paying a visit, LOL.)
