Went to get oil changed and tires rotated. They told me my breaks were very bad and it was dangerous to drive. The next day the supercharger on my car went out. Luckily my car was under warranty with the dealership. Had my car towed to the dealership, they fixed the supercharger. Asked them to check my breaks. Dealership said my breaks were perfectly fine. So glad I checked. These crooks wanted to charge me over $1,300.00. STAY AWAY!!! read more

This place is right next to my house and, given the great reviews, I decided to take my car here for an oil change. When I arrived there was no one in the lobby, not even an employee, so I sat and waited. After a couple of minutes the guy helped me and told me it'd be about an hour until my car was finished. It was nice outside, so I told him that was fine and I'd take a walk to the park across the street. I stayed at the park for a while, not in any rush to get back since my car wouldn't be done for an hour anyway. I got back to Xpress Automotive two hours after I dropped my car off; one hour after the estimated time that my car should have been finished. Again, the lobby was empty. I saw the employees smoking cigarettes in the garage on the security camera in the lobby, so I opened the door and asked if they could come help me. The same guy comes back and tells me "It'll just be a couple more minutes." I watch on the security camera as they pull my car around and do the oil change RIGHT THERE IN 10 MINUTES. What the hell they were doing for the other two hours--I have no idea. They definitely weren't working when I showed up. I was happy to leave, until I saw they never turned off the "Maintenance Required" light and had to turn right back around to get that taken care of. The next day I tried to open my trunk and learned they'd turned on the valet lock from my glovebox and never disabled it.. so that was great. I'm starting to think the only good reviews on here are from friends and family, because this place sucks. read more

After discovering a big puddle of coolant on our garage floor we decided to skip the hassle of trying to get the car into our regular mechanic and drove it directly to the Xpress Automotive a few blocks away. It was our first visit. They were about to close so kept the car overnight, offering to move it inside. The next morning they found the leak, tightened the loose radiator hoses, topped off the coolant and called me to pick it up. They only charged an inspection fee. Very fair. The owner Wassek was hospitable and his mechanic Rob seems like he knows what he's doing. Such a relief to have a mechanic in the neighborhood that we can get to know. We'll see how it goes if we use them for something more serious, but so far so good! read more

Went to see Wassek at XA explained situation and to make sure he had a replacement battery. He offered to lend me their jumper cable and battery pack so I did not have to call my insurance company roadside assistance and wait for them to come and give me a jump start. I have taken my Jeep Patriot to several Jeep dealerships regarding a throttle issue. All that was ever done by the dealerships was a computer update to the Control Module. As you can guess...I continued to have issues with it since driving it brand new off the lot. I first took my Jeep into Xpress (prior to new management) after moving to the area and needed my Jeep looked at due to a problem with it losing power and having a jerking motion when shifting between 2nd and 3rd gears. They had performed basic maintenance on it...new battery, new spark plugs and oil change. The next day I had the experienced the same issues with it losing power and jerking when shifting (mainly between 2nd & 3rd gears). Finally my Jeep got to a point to where it was not drive-able and I had it towed to back to Xpress. The shop was under new management. Wes was very friendly, helpful and kept me informed on the status of my Jeep. Wes had the mechanic, Rob looking into the problem right away. It was found that my Jeep needed a new Throttle Body & Gasket. All this time...several Jeep dealerships later and it finally came to Rob discovering the problem. It took him 5-6 hours to get the part needed from dealership and get it fixed. I was charged $399.00 for the Throttle Body part & gasket which was high...as it costs $236.40 (with gasket, and mounting bolts added...straight from Chrysler (http://www.factorychryslerparts.com/showAssembly.aspx?ukey_assembly=1122979&ukey_make=1064&ukey_model=15532&modelYear=2008&ukey_category=20311). The labor charges seemed to be within industry standards at 112.99/hr (average industry charge is at $80.00-$100.00 (but most are closer to the $100.00) and I was charged for .80 labor ($90.39) which seemed fair and reasonable. They had also replaced the battery which was still under warranty and there were no charges for this. What I found impressive was when Rob came out with the old Throttle Body and took time to give a thorough explanation on what he did and what was wrong with the part. When test driving my vehicle I was very happy with the way it sounded and performed. It was the first time in a very long time it ran like brand new. My only complaint and the reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 was due to the tires not being inflated (tire indicator light was on)...prior to my picking up vehicle and test driving it. Rob checked and inflated the tires as needed and made sure all was good. For now my Jeep is running smoothly with no problems. Would I go back or recommend them to a friend? I would have to say yes. They fixed a problem that nobody else would fix and Rob took the time to explain what he did and what was wrong with my Jeep. They also guarantee the work they do for 3 months. My experience with Xpress Auto was very similar to Troy's. I brought our Honda Odyssey to Xpress Auto to change the timing belt, a fairly routine job, as well as replacing the cam and crank seals and the water pump due to their accessibility when the timing belt is changed. I supplied all the parts and was told that if the van was dropped off Friday at 8AM it would be ready that same day after Noon. Long story short, it was ready the following Thursday. Due to a mix of inexperience and carelessness, the belt was installed improperly and by not checking it before attempting to start the engine, the valves were destroyed necessitating cylinder head repair, which Wassek paid for. However, because I wanted OEM quality head gaskets for the reinstallation, I chose to buy them at a cost to me of $150 that I had not planned for in the original job quote. What compelled me to write this review was not just that, but the condition in which the car was returned to me. The dipstick tube was loose, various bolts were missing, coolant hose installed improperly and as I found recently, the oil drain plug driven on so tight a breaker bar was needed to remove it. Mechanics must pay close attention to detail and follow instructions very closely. I found out the hard way that Wasseks mechanic had never done this type of job before on this type of vehicle but failed to disclose this prior to starting the job so that I could have made an informed decision as to have them work on it or not. I put a great deal of the blame for that on Wassek and his obligation to hire experienced and trained personnel and provide ongoing training rather than allowing customer's vehicles be the training ground. I have performed everything from routine maintenance to engine overhauls on my own vehicles for over 35 years. I wanted to support a local business and I was reluctant to send in a review because I would like to see a local shop thrive. But Xpress has lost my trust and my business. read more

Wassek is wonderful! I came here for an oil change and air conditioning repair after being referred by both my sister and her boyfriend. When I went in, Wassek greeted me and asked how I had heard about the business. He welcomed me and took down my information. When I explained what I needed for my car, he went through all the options and answered all the questions I had. I felt very comfortable leaving my car with him, and knew it was in good hands. Unfortunately, my car ended up needing a bigger fix, but Wassek kept open communication through everything, and only did work if I agreed to it. He was also helpful in explaining what I needed, what it would cost, and the benefits to getting it done. I can't share enough about how great these guys are, my car seized up and I was sure it had some pretty major damage, at first they found a cracked radiator and water in the engine, it looked like a cracked head gasket and we thought it was going to be $3500 in repair, but they called and said it was only a broken water pump, costing us thousands less. I came across this business when I was looking for an alternative place to get my car serviced other than the dealership. The Mercedes dealership quoted me upwards of $600 for regular maintenance (oil change, cabin filters, etc) and I just didn't feel right to pay that much for just the basic maintenance so I looked up other shops near and found Wassek's Xpress Automotive. He was kind enough to give me a rough estimate over the phone and told me exactly what services my car needed (unlike the dealership who was strongly pushing for unnecessary services that my car didn't really need but they insisted on because they recommended it). I dropped my car off the next day to Xpress Automotive and picked up when it was complete. To summarize how great this place was, Wassek and his staff were very nice and professional, made to go over everything they had serviced. I learned that their services included a lot more stuff like tire rotation, checking AC, etc etc. which Mercedes would charge extra for. They did an awesome job and above all they charged me 1/3 of the price that Mercedes had quoted me and did everything and more for my car! Wassek called me about my towed - in car and I opted for the "well, if it's necessary, than do it" reply. When I showed up, both owner Wassek and tech Rob explained what was pertinent (oked per phone convo) and what to possibly be aware of in the future. Never felt pressured to have more services done. These guys are the best! It's like have a friend in the business just because you walked in the door. I came in for a 45,000 mile maintenance, coolant flush and an oil change. The staff were courteous, listened to what I needed done - including documentation on the 45K inspection - and got right to work. Once underway, they correctly sold me a cabin air filter (an item on the inspection list). The filter they showed me was unquestionably the one from my car, and certainly needed replacing. The price for the new air filter was fair, and they actually had it delivered on-the-spot which surprisingly caused me no meaningful delay. When I move to Ahwatukee Area, I needed my car fixed. I had to replace my front wheel hub. I went to this place since it was close to my house. The staff member were nice and friendly. They also gave me the reasonable price for the repair and they gave me a ride home since it was going to take couple of hours. However, I am giving them a 4 star because I got a call back 6hours later that my car was ready. Time is very important for me and I was little disappointed. I wish I could give them 0 stars. We took our car here in November 2018 to rebuild our transmission. the problems started whey they neglected to tell us that they 3rd party this out. Fast forward to Feb 2019, the car has been back to them 3 times already and the problem is not fixed. I arrived to the shop 30 minutes before opening and Wassek (owner) greeted me and began diagnosing my car (yes, before they were open). Wassek was able to work around my tight budget and called me numerous times throughout the day for updates and additional items that need to be replaced. This was not an upsell to get more cash, Wassek was generally concerned for my safety on the road. Again, he worked with my budget to fix the additional items. We have been taking our cars to Xpress for oil changes for a few years now and have always been happy with their service. Recently I was anxious to get my oil changed as it was well overdue and I put a lot of miles on my car. I hope to drive it for a long time and want to make sure I keep up to date on routine maintenance. I took it in early on a Saturday and they were quite busy, but said they would squeeze us in. We were actually happy to hear business was good as we would like them to stay.
