I have visited Xplore Commack a few times over the years and it hasn't really changed, and not for the better. It has so much potential but it's not amazing, and not amazing for the cost unfortunately. We started with go karts which are great for $8 per ride. Unfortunately, the first time, our kart was broken and was super slow. My 5 year old dealt with it but it wasn't great. We also paid $24 for the open play on the 4 things they have there, 1 play area which is great and 3 bounce houses which are all great but not really worth $24. Lastly, the front arcade is not bad at all but maybe 50% of the machines were broken. They are also all at least $1.50 per play and just not worth that much. All of the claw games are really hard to win and most are $2 per play. It's hard to spend less than $30 in the arcade. I spent a total of $60 here for maybe 1.5 hours which is ok but I am not sure if I could come back here all that often, especially considering that it needs some tlc. read more

It was my first time here and I LOVED IT. It's great because it's for all ages. For me, my 9 month old, my friend, her 8 year old, 5 year old and 9 month old was about $43 to enter in. When you first enter, there is a two lane bowling alley for the kids to the left of the desk. To the right is a nice sized arcade for older kids. It's almost like a really smaller size version of a Dave and busters. To get to the 'soft play' area you have to go right through the arcade area. You go through a hallway where you see party rooms for go karts. The go kart area is small, so it's good for kids maybe ages 4-10. You are able to go with a few kids but you have to buy tickets to do so. If I remember correctly it may be $7 a ticket. There's one room where you can watch your kids that are crawling to about 10-11 maybe a bit older. It's great if you have multiple kids that are different ages. You don't have to go far read more

My 4 year old really wanted to drive go karts and she was not able to director her height and age another establishments, but Xplore had mini glow carts perfect for her. Went here on a weekday, from the second we came in greeted by front desk and the staff member upon selling us tickets brought us to glow carts. His name was Johnathon and I'd like him to be acknowledged as he spent extra time teaching my daughter and coaching her through her first run (5-7 mins each run well worth it) she went back for her second run excited and again her took his time with her. She was not placed with older kids, and the fact he was so caring, it made her day. The rest of the place was great! Inflatable area and games and claw machines all made a great day at a great price. RUDE EMPLOYEE AT TODDLER ZONE! My special need 5 years old was in the toddler zone waiting his turn to go up the slide, he reached to touch him and asked the guy "what's your name?" He was rude to my son and snapped at him, my husband steeped him to talk to the employee and he was rude to my husband, I went to talk to him and he was rude to me also. He ruined our day completely! Respect is for everyone INCLUDING kids! It's unacceptable that an adult is rude, disrespectful to a kid (in the toddler zone of all places). I teach all my kids to be respectful to adult, but I also demand they be treated with respect! This is unacceptable!!! The manager gave out money back, but either way our day was ruined! Kids are not less than because that are young, they deserve to be treated with respect, I am heart broken to have to walk out of there with my kid crying. I hosted my son's bday party and I'm glad my family is very easygoing because this place is a mess. I booked a 2:30 party and was told 90 minutes was enough time for two private games of laser tag, glow karts and cake. Once I got there the room wasn't set up and right away I was was told my party wouldn't get to go on glow karts until 5pm. I made it clear when I booked that I had plans to leave between 4 or 4:30 and they reassured me it was enough time. They suggest I drop the glow karts off my package as if I'd be OK with that after promising my son and the kids about glow karts I told them to figure it out and make it work. They really didn't give a hoot to adjust and make up for their mix-up. I confirmed everything on the phone three times before showing up and when I got there nothing was set up, the host was giving away the arcade cards to random kids that weren't part of my party. I had to chase him down to ask for cards since kids were waiting to play video games while waiting for laser games. A waste of time! He should've handed them to me. And again, I spoke with events person to add money onto each card, they had it right on the invoice but gave me regular cards with $8, I had to spend 15 minutes of the party confirming this and fixing the invoice. It was all very rushed, I barely got to enjoy anything with my son. I only enjoyed about 5 minutes of laser tag because I was chasing down staff for napkins, for arcade cards, for laser tag, for glow kart tickets. Its insane, if I paid for the package I should've been handed all of my tickets as soon as I checked in and the room should've been ready. My family had to help me set up, and watch me run around, I barely had a chance to properly greet everyone and on top of that they request a tip after I did all the work. They have 6 glow karts but only 4 work, there is absolute no organization whatsoever. The kids running the glow karts had no idea what they were doing nor did they give me a minute to team up the smaller kids and the bigger kids, they didn't care about any details, they just focus on getting it over with. They couldn't give my som the chance to go first being the birthday boy, like seriously wtf. I was really disappointed because the place has potential if the staff actually cared to pay attention to details. I was happy to be leave and get out of there. I'm glad my son didn't realize anything and got to do what he wanted but he was rushed. I'm glad I had his after party to make up for that hot mess of a place. Especially in the wintertime we are always looking for a way to get the little cherub of ours out of the house without freezing in an outdoor park. A friend of ours put together a meet of parents and kids to get out for a little while and to save our sanity from the kids being cooped up int he house during the colder months. This gave the kids a chance to play with each other and to release some of the never ending energy they seem to possess. The space inside Xplore is divided into different areas. Laser tag, Dodgeball, party rooms, Bouncy/jungle gym room and the arcade. For about $20 you can let your little one do almost all of that save the birthday rooms and the arcade. Have a birthday party there to get the one and buy a game card to use the other. My four year old was really a little too small for dodgeball and didn't have any experience with the laser tag so she spent a big portion of her day doing the big bounce room and the jungle gym. She saw some friends from school and others she knew from other community events so it took the heat off dear old dad being the only outlet for entertainment for her. The other parents in the group seem to agree that it was an excellent thing to do on a cold and damp winter day. There are other indoor venues around that are bigger and some have pretty decent food but this place is very close to home and fit the bill for many of the parents that wanted to get out of the house with the chillens and have some fun. read more

Xplore (both locations) and Safari have always been our go-to for open play and birthday parties for our children for years. Commack was always the easiest to manage with multiple children due to its layout, so was always a first choice for play dates. Unfortunately, unlike Port Jeff and Safari, the Commack Xplore has taken a turn for the worse. Even though the prices were increased, the equipment and staff leave much to be desired. So much of the equipment is damaged or missing, all of the upgrades made are for activities that require additional payment, and the front desk staff is very unfriendly. It's such a difference from their other locations, and SO disappointing! It makes such little sense that I'm paying $49.97 for two kids without a sibling discount. When asked what was included in the price other than the 3 inflatables and jungle gym, I was told the price increase includes laser tag, which you have to be 6 or older to partake (only one of my kids). The brand new go karts, the video arcade and virtual games are not included. If the prices were increased for just open play, then it should be reflected in the quality of the back open play area. It's a shame because the staff at Port Jeff, as well as their equipment and what's included (rock wall, zip lining, etc) is incredible. This will no longer be my recommendation to playgroups or friends. read more

Place is fine, they have an arcade which you have to buy a card and add money. The entrance covers for laser tag and they have an area for toddlers to play included with the entrance as well. The only thing is that the arcade is a bit expensive, each game is $1.50-2.00. I spend $100 in arcade plus the entrance. Also take your own drink because the vending machine charges a $3 for drinks that cost $1.25. Over all My kids loved it.. read more

My friends and I had a blast here! As we left the building, I commented on how my face hurt from smiling and laughing so much. So thanks to Lazerland for that! We were a group of 9 that started playing Lazer Tag around 12 PM on a Sunday afternoon. I definitely recommend going early if you can- as there was way less people, and the first two games were played by just our group. We payed $21 for 3 games which is a pretty good deal. The room is two levels with fun electronic music playing. A gun I had in the second game didn't work- which they let me swap out for in the middle of the game. They also gave us the option to play teams or "free for all" when we went in. Overall game play was very fun! Lazerland also has some arcade games, a prize center, and laser beam room. What they lack is an area for hot food- not a huge minus. They do sell small snacks like chips and candy. We thought about playing dogeball but got a weird price quote from the girl working the counter. ($25 for unlimited laser tag and dodgeball? But we just payed $21 for 3 laser tag games.) And despite the Free Play times overlapping with the private parties, causing some delays- we will definitely be back. Lazerland is a great value and a super fun facility! read more

Yes, I was in a Laser Tag battle with nine year olds that kicked my butt. This is a tag game played with guns which fire infrared beams. The Infrared-sensitive targets are worn by each player and are integrated within the arena in which the game is played. Each Laser gun has a name associated with your score. When you exit the arena you can find your score at this arena on the upper score board and they also provide you with a print out. I had the highest hits against me and the lowest score. That will be the last time I challenge nine year olds. Next time I will challenge a group of senior citizens. I believe Laser tag can be played by all ages. When you compare it to paintball, laser tag is painless and for me, that is the only way I will avoid being carried out of the arena. read more

I don't post often but I am absolutely disgusted with this business. This place is run by staff who have no clue how to handle customers. They are greedy and willing to charge you and take your money and in return deny dodgeball, laser tag, and even close the prize booth before their 'close time'. When asked if they would accommodate our small group, we were yelled at and told we were 'rude from the moment we walked in' when this is so far from the truth. They think since the owner lives out of state they can treat customers with little to no respect and just take our money and deny service. Absolutely the worst customer service. Brought my kids and their friends for open play and constantly kept being kicked off attractions so their birthday parties can use them. At no point when registering did they advise us this was going to happen. Then our time was over at 6pm and when the kids went to cash in their reward tickets they closed the counter at 5:50pm with no warning. The manager refused to give her name and did nothing to help the kids. Then she proceeded to tell me the owner does not live on Long Island and refused to give me any information to contact her manager. Next time it will be Dave and Busters for a fun night out. We had my son's birthday party here and he had a lot of fun. It's very busy, but they're well-organized and the kids had an amazing time. My only complaint is that their communication isn't the best. We had signed up for dodgeball, but it turned out that they replaced dodgeball with glow karts, but it wasn't made clear to me that dodgeball was no longer an option. We would have replaced it with glow karts but they just never made it clear that dodgeball wasn't an option anymore. It's not an issue going forward, but I wish they had communicated more clearly. I came here one Saturday night with a group of friends for unlimited laser-tag and dodgeball. It was a great price, just $20, and we took full advantage. We were able to play 6 or so games of laser-tag and a game of dodgeball. Dodgeball isn't our favorite sport so we didn't stay in the gym for long, plus it smelled like feet, like any gym does really. But the laser-tag arena was very cool. There were two floors to play on and lots of hiding spaces. I just wish that the music they played was a little louder. There's nothing better than rockin EDM during an intense game of laser-tag. The ages of people in the arena varied from 5-55 or so and everyone got along just fine. Each game lasted 10 minutes. We only had to wait for one game to finish in order to start our next one. Totally a great bang for your buck! read more

I have been going to this place religously from 7:30 PM - 11:30 PM on Friday and Saturday nights for almost 5 years at the time of writing this review. The staff is excellent and I have become friends with most of them. I've had no issue with any of them. Not only that, but if you come often enough you will probably be absorbed into this huge group of people who come almost every week. They're all very cool. The laser tag is superb. Unlike other Long Island facilities that have laser tag, Lazerland actually has something that is light to wear, versatile, and seems to be created past the year 1990. Ah dodgeball, I may be a bit biased here. It's definitely my favorite sport. The refs usually do an excellent job at directing the games. There are two courts so kids can be separated from the older and harder throwing players. However, if you are taking someone about 13 or younger I'd advise asking the staff for the older bracelet if the kid wants it. All in all, this place has managed to become a fairly big part of my life over all this time. I've had so many great nights here and made so many friends. read more

My son had his jacket taken from Lazerland today and the manager said that they are not responsible for the loss. Lazerland needs to take example from professional party facilities like PUMP IT UP. They have all the children place jackets in a big cart and that cart is moved from one room to another to follow the party and their guests. Very poor management. Yes, laser tag is apparently still a thing. Yes, eight 20-somethings and a 30-year-old went here on a Friday night because Long Island. The laser tag arena here is 2 stories, and they have dodgeball, all of which were well-attended. We went with the $20 "blow out" around 9:30pm (Laser Kingdom in Medford closed @ 9) and left when they closed. The guy we forked over 9 x $20 didn't seem too appreciative, so the attitude was a bad start. Kids half our age or less also had free reign with the wristbands that were never checked.
