Came to Xinjiang BBQ for my friend's birthday. They order via QR code at the table. Everything you order comes out cooked so it's nice that you don't have to wait for the skewers to cook at your table like other places. My group ordered the crispy pork appetizer, jellyfish cucumber and marinated cucumbers. All were delicious that we ordered multiple plates of them. As for the skewers we got the chicken, beef, lamb, squid, bacon wrapped enoki, bean curd and fried chicken skin. All were cooked to perfection and none of them were tough or chewy. They have different powders on the table that you can put on your plate to accompany the skewers. They are priced pretty fairly with each order being about $6. My group was there for 4 hours and each one of us paid about $260 for a party of 7. We liked that this place was opened late and was a chill environment. The staff speaks some English but would be good if you have someone in the party who speaks mandarin. They have about a dozen tables inside and everything comes out pretty quickly.

Had this place bookmarked for a while and finally went to try it out. Skewers were quite yummy and they had a wide selection. They cook it and bring it to you. Flavors were good and meat not overcooked. The cucumbers were good and hubs really liked the shredded potatoes, but we really enjoyed the lamb dough drop soup! It was a good grease cutter lol and delicious too! Very different! Was extra good when I squeezed some lime into it. Service was good. Food came out quickly. I loved the ambiance, fun vibe and the constant changing scenes kept me entertained! There were 8 projectors lol. Seats were comfy too! Open late and quite a popular place.

The food is decent, but I have other places that I prefer for skewers. I feel like the biggest appeal of this place would've been the atmosphere created by the giant LED screens that are projected onto the walls, but I felt kinda catfished when I came here. It's not as vibrant and cool looking as some of the pictures make it seem. Service is fine. Your interactions with the staff are relatively minimal. They'll seat you and bring out your food. You order on your phone. I feel like for each dish I tried, I've had a better version of it somewhere else. I wouldn't mind coming here if someone else wanted to go, but it's definitely not my first choice.

Came here on new years eve around 10pm & it was starting to get busy. Total meal was $30 for 3 meat skewers (4 sticks each), cucumbers, & rice This is my favorite skewers place & a great late night spot! The price is great & the flavor of the meat is tasty. The cucumbers & eggplants are also great add ons to your meal! Favorite is the beef & lamb The ambiance is very chill, dim lighting, & can sometimes be a little louder at night with the talking & music

What an interesting restaurant experience! Xinjiang BBQ is located in a tiny plaza that has a good amount of parking as well. The plaza is initially pretty hard to locate while driving on the street so just be on the lookout. The decor is really interesting as well. It gives somewhat of a *nightclub* type of vibe and, for some reason, there is a super large projector in the front of the restaurant that's showing random messages that people in the restaurant can send in via a google form QR code. Just really odd, but I'm not complaining - it's kind of cool actually too, the more I think about it. The service is quick and the food comes quicker. You order via a QR code at your table and the ordering site is very easy to use. It's perfect, since we could order skewers throughout the meal, instead of all at once. The main skewers that we got were the beef and pork belly. The prices are very reasonable as well, going for about $1.50 per skewer. I also highly recommend getting the cucumber salad! It's a big portion for a reasonable price and it has a very clean and fresh taste, allowing for a good contrast between the saltiness of the meat. Overall, I had a great time and really just had an ~interesting~ experience here. A lot of aspects of this restaurant were very odd to me, but I still enjoyed it and had fun. Great place to just chill and relax with your friends with good food and drinks!

The atmosphere here is very eclectic, with karaoke videos playing at the iPads on all the tables, projector animated art on the walls, and many custom neon signs. It's very intimate here with only 12 tables, so there's understandably a waitlist even in the late night. Ordering is via an online website with a unique QR for each table, and food comes out fast. There is a warming tray available on each table to keep your food toasty. I enjoyed that there were additional spice jars of cumin and other mixes on the table so you can customize the flavor and texture of the skewers. The garlic cucumbers were a good portion as well.

Great prices and great food with amazing selections to sum it all up. It's our 3/4 times we are here and each time we always had a great times. Don't compare to those common tiny skewers, this place give you three times the meats for same price and you have the option of well done or mediums. Try them and you will be back, particularly for their beef , pork, lamb and my fav intestines Service is great and if you speak probably better but for English speaking they are good but the ambience is like night club drinking place which they are

What We Ordered: -Chicken Skin (4) $5.99 -Chicken Gizzard (4) $4.99 -2 Fish Tofu (2) $7.98 -Gluten Skewer (1) $3.99 -Shiitake Mushroom (2) $3.99 This was our first in-person visit to Xinjiang BBQ. We've ordered delivery a couple of times before, and the food was just okay. However, my wife and I both agreed it tasted much better this time. We ordered the Mild Spicy option, but it wasn't spicy for me at all. The flavors were very good! The Chicken Skin and Fish Tofu skewers were my favorites, and I would order them again. Next time, we'll definitely try the lamb skewers to see what they're like. The service was friendly and helpful! It's hands-down the best Chinese BBQ spot in Monterey Park, and we will definitely be back!

Arrived here pretty late on a Saturday night since my friend said it closes at 4am! I miss those pre-covid restaurant days where we were able to go to HK style cafes at 2-3am and have a post drunken meal. This place scratches the itch somewhat! We came with a party of 6 at about 2am and ordered a few items on the menu. Chicken skin came crispy and tasty. Protein such as beef tongue, beef skewers and lamb skewers already tasted pretty good for our drunken state. The place has some crazy interior design and tables are oddly aligned but enough to enjoy with a group of friends. Overall food and service was pretty good. They do add gratuity for party of 5 or more I believe. I give this place a thumbs up if you are semi drinking and need post drunken meal late at night in the SGV!

If I could give this place more stars I would! We ordered the jelly fish, clams, oysters, scallops, quail eggs and they blew us away. Service at atmosphere were both great and the beer was perfectly cold. I will be dreaming of the scallops! The best meal I have had in a long time!

Loveeeed my first experience dining at XinJiang. My friends drove from San Diego, and they liked XinJiang near their place, so we had to try the one in LA! We went there at 11PM, ordered lots of skewers and drinks. My personal favorite was the beef and chicken gizzard. The cucumber dish we ordered perfectly balances the oiliness of the skewers, and somaek (soju + TsingTao) was so refreshing-- making the overall dining experience so great and memorable. They took the time to cook the food, but service was awesome. Loved parking is very accessible and easy. We got to reserve a table in advance as well, which was convenient. Place was nice and has a good vibe. Would definitely be back sooon!

Busy busy place tucked in the back of this parking lot. Lots of Gen Zs here. Enough said. Small kinda divey place, it's a good spot for hanging out and sharing food. Mainly the skewers which were tasty but all too much of the same. The chicken wings were great, I recommend those. I would also get the lamb soup with bits of noodle. The texture was great. The stir fried clams were terrible and full of sand. It was like exfoliating your teeth and we just had to send it back. Flavor of this was also very disappointing. They do have a fairly annoying projector with constant moving images that they warn can cause seizures. Not to mention lots of exposed wiring under the table and a rug that flips and can easily cause a fall. It can't be up to code if you ask me. The wait time can be long as the place is not that spacious. They do however not pressure you to leave in any way and I like that.

I am genuinely thrilled to have such an upscale, quiet, and relaxing restaurant right here in my neighborhood. You can truly taste the chef's passion and dedication in every dish. Every time I bring friends here, they are absolutely amazed and delighted by the flavors. We ordered quite a few dishes today. The highlight was the Chilean Sea Bass. The chef served a massive, beautifully thick cut--which is actually the hardest to execute. If overcooked even slightly, Chilean Sea Bass becomes dry and tough. But the timing here was absolutely perfect. It had a gorgeous, golden-brown exterior, while the inside remained incredibly moist, tender, and delightfully springy. The seasoning was spot-on and never overpowering; it wasn't too salty, perfectly preserving the natural, fresh flavors of the sea. We also had the Chicken Bowtie Pasta. I typically avoid chicken dishes at restaurants because they often turn out dry and lack the rich aroma you get from beef or lamb. However, Sage's chef elevates chicken to another level. Rather than using the traditional Cantonese technique of quickly flash-frying in oil (which yields a smooth texture but sacrifices the natural meat aroma), the chef here expertly pan-sears the chicken over extremely high heat for a short time. This creates a deliciously crisp exterior that locks in all the juices and rich flavor. Tossed with perfectly cooked bowtie pasta and cheese, the result is so flavorful and well-balanced that we simply couldn't stop eating! Another great thing about Sage is their incredibly generous portion sizes--we left completely satisfied! We finished our meal with a great cup of coffee and the chef's handmade Tiramisu, drawing a perfect, sweet close to our evening. Highly recommend!
