    The employees are great at this store dont get me wrong. Its the company I am pissed at. Their policies and procedures are making it a hard. I have been a long time xfinity customer but now I have moved on. Really really disappointed

    Hellish service. As I'm sure many know, it goes down quite often. The prices are insanely expensive...and go up & up & up! When I moved into my new apartment in May, it took them 4 visits to get my service hooked up. :( When I called to cancel my service, the lady started yelling at me. I was sitting at my desk at work so was normal & calm...it was a very strange experience. I finally said to her - I'm sorry, but you are being very mean to me. I'm going to go in person to cancel. I'm way sad they closed the Rolling Meadows location where it wasn't an insane wait and the staff was all super friendly. This location is a nightmare. It's so incredibly busy and employees are hit or miss. When I walked in on a weekday, I was told the wait was 40 minutes and they tried to convince me not to wait. He said I could mail in my equipment & call to cancel. Heck nah I ain't going through the phone nightmare again. The wait ended up being 1 hour & 20 minutes, not 40...so whatever wait they tell you, double it. I am so thankful I am now in an area where I have options other than this monopolizing horror company. I'll never go with Comcast again.

    Just to be fair my complaint IS NOT about this location, it is about trying to get my 85 year old…read moremother's FIOS fixed: she has no internet, no phone service and no television service. She lives in NJ and I live in IL, so I can't just "pop over" and try to help her. My mother uses her land line to talk to all of her friends, the internet to send emails, and she watches the news and her favorite shows on the TV. Without her phone, internet service and the television she is cut off from the community of her friends and the rest of the world. COVID has isolated her enough, however, VERIZON has her COMPLETELY cut off from the rest of the world. She says this problem has happened to her four or five times in the last few years. Certainly sounds like FIOS service in Nj isn't very reliable. She called us this evening absolutely at her wits end, she says she has spent HOURS on the phone calling Verizon and can't has not been able to get her FIOS problem fixed. My mother gave us all of the phone numbers she has used to call Verizon to get tech support. It took my wife 30 minutes just to get onto a waiting queue to get tech support. Hold times are approximately 1hour, wow, Verizon apparently really does have an unreliable system if they have that many people calling for support. As of the time I have gotten to this part of my complaint, my wife has already been on hold for over 30 minutes, with no end in sight. So VERIZON, what does my 85 year-old mother who lives alone, and isn't really tech savvy, need to do to get this problem fixed?

In my case, I needed a new screen protector for an older phone that is not supported. Instead of being blown off, they suggested I either contact the manufacturer or they could look in their local stock. I chose the latter option. When they told me they did not have what I needed, they did recommend an outside kiosk to remedy my need. This is Service 101. In the short term, this Verizon location did not get my money. But in the long run, they get my future business and possibly business from other people that read this review. And it is service like this that makes me stay with this Verizon.

I would get more enjoyment flushing my money down the toilet every month. One thing I have not seen mentioned in other reviews is their 4 HOUR service windows.     Let me share my Direct TV experience…read more On Friday, November 8th I logged onto the Direct TV Website. Generally, our bill is roughly $130 per month, give or take a dollar. The amount this time, however, was about 35 dollars higher than normal. Upon investigation, I discovered an old trick that Direct TV uses that I had forgotten about. Every year, if a subscriber has purchased a sports package for a particular season, Direct TV automatically renews that subscriber for the following season. I had forgotten the year before that I had purchased NBA League Pass. Therefore, Direct TV automatically renewed me for the 2013 season. Direct TV puts the onus on the subscriber to catch this automatic renewal and act on it. And, per Direct TV's rules that the subscriber must play by, if the season starts and the subscriber doesn't catch it, its too bad for the subscriber. This happened to me. I had not checked the online statement details. There was no charge for NBA League Pass on the bill dated 9/8/2013, but there was a note of an early renewal. The bill dated 10/8 (due 10/27) had the first payment due, and that is when I noticed the irregular amount, and did the research uncovering the renewal. By then, according to the associate I first spoke to and later, his supervisor, it was too late. Too bad for me I didn't notice that Direct TV had automatically signed me up for something I didn't ask for, and the window for me to stop them from renewing me without my consent had closed. Too bad, they essentially said, I was stuck with it. Whether I asked for it or not. Gotcha. Take your medicine, we won this round. THIS PRACTICE IS REPREHENSIBLE. I asked the supervisor to justify it morally, to stick someone with something they didn't ask for and then when they realize it, too bad, you get it and Direct TV is entitled to my money as a result. She couldn't other than to say it was "Direct TV Policy". This practice of auto renewing and hoping the subscriber doesn't notice is unethical. This is tantamount to delivering a pizza to my door and insisting that I buy it simply because the pizza maker made it. If I had asked for NBA League Pass, I'd have to accept that I have it for the whole season. I didn't ask for NBA League Pass, and now, since I didn't notice it on the emailed statement (we are enrolled in paperless billing), whether I want it or not, Direct TV says "gotcha". Why does Direct TV engage in this practice? How can you possible justify doing this? You can't. And you know it. You are doing it simply hoping people will be too busy to notice. Like I was. To keep out of trouble, I've paid the first installment that I was billed for. Auto Renewing a longstanding customer like my wife and I and then forcing us to pay for something we didn't ask for is an unethical business practice. There is no way to justify this.

This nice install rep (hi Chris!) came perfectly on time and did the entire setup for us in a few minutes - he was very pleasant and funny. I had no idea what this new cable was, so he spent time explaining and showing us a few pointers to make sure we understood the software. It's like a no contract, no fee, amazing cable company that has even higher quality imaging. Plus virtually unlimited DVR space (Hello binge watching!) Oh and it's less expensive than what I'm paying for UGHHHHH. The Damage: I believe the price is different depending where you are, so worth calling to see. I stuck with them a little longer but the quality of their services quickly deteriorated. I used to consider them the gold standard but i had to switch after a mystery charge appeared on my bill that they couldn't explain to me. I told them i was leaving and they didn't even care. I also refuse to go to Comcast. I noticed an ad for Layer 3 tv online and decided to try it out. Let me preface by stating i have a 1gigabit internet thru the fine folks from RCN who also have excellent customer service. Layer3 TV is an internet based cable solution. Their feed runs thru your internet. and they have 4K. I admit i was skeptical at first but once i switched i have not looked back. The picture quality is amazing and the customer service is outstanding. They are new to the Chicago area so there are a few kinks but you can tell with the technology they use they will become a force. Please keep doing what you are doing I enjoy your services immensely.

Once he was here, we asked him his opinion on two wall switches in a different room that were not working, and he stayed longer (while I ran to Home Depot for new toggle switches) to fix both of them as well for just a little more added to our total. The fan install was a little more difficult than Ted anticipated, and it was an insane night in our home as well (my husband's car was at the shop and he needed it for work the next day so we had to get that taken care of while Ted was here working) - I'm sure he thought we were nuts, but he was very gracious and understanding about everything! The end results look great, and I am SO happy our light switches are working again - all of this was done for a third of the cost we were quoted by someone else to just do the install and paint the office ceiling (we ended up doing the painting ourselves anyway).
