I've been coming to this location for a while and usually have a good experience, but my visit today was unfortunately very different. I stopped by on March 12th at 5PM because I was looking to purchase some new equipment. When I walked in, there were several employees in the store, but no one acknowledged me or offered assistance. I spent about three minutes walking around the store, hoping someone would ask if I needed help, but the staff appeared to be engaged in their own conversations instead of assisting customers. After waiting and not being approached, I ended up walking out without making the purchase. I want to be clear that I'm only referring to the staff working during that specific time, as I've had better experiences at this location before. I was initially turned off by the reviews I saw on here, until I saw how long ago they were posted. I just left the location on Potrero, and I just happened to come in when they weren't too busy. I had three employees offering help, I went to the first person that offered. KEVIN was able to help me lower my bill, seems like my promotion expired recently, and also helped me save money by offering a free phone line! Prices for the phones were so good, I made an appointment to bring over the rest of my phones from ATT!! & since it's Christmas, they hooked me up with a free snow globe picture frame! The guy that helped me was put in an awkward place. 'Why would you like to terminate your service?'. Today, I entered the Xfinity store enraged after being unexplainably disconnected from my service after 30 years of uninterrupted Comcast/Xfinity connection. Admittedly it was a struggle for me to stay calm after 4 hours on the chat with Xfinity last evening trying to get my service restored--no Wi-Fi no TV no email. My faith in customer service has been restored after the store manager Mac spent 20 minutes with me. He did everything right. He was open to hearing my story. He acknowledged the frustration I was feeling. He immediately, unlike the chat service reps, identified what had happened. He took full accountability for the mistakes that had been made. He worked to restore my service, make adjustments that better suited my circumstances. Adjust my bill accordingly. Apologized humbly for the inconvenience. Showed empathy and it was delightfully disarming. Last night I informed the 4th escalation agent over text that if this couldn't be resolved I was cutting the cord for an industry that I once lobbied for. Today I walked out of the store thinking this young man is going far. Mac Bautista is an outstanding hire. He has a very bright future. He is calm, cool under crisis. He was unflappable during the exchange. He managed the situation with grace and like a detective BOSS investigating that matter. If I had a job opening in the biotech space I would steal him away. Service had been good for 2 years, then last Tuesday it went out when a big storm knocked down wires on my street. The next day every service provider known was out there working - Xcept Xfinity. Xfinity didn't find their way out to the Mission until Friday night THREE DAYS after the storm. I guess it was nice of them to come, but it would have been nicer if they actually fixed the internet. We got a text when they left that said it was fixed - but it wasn't. I spent hours of time and data last weekend trying to get someone here. The best I could do was get a technician out on WEDNESDAY- EIGHT DAYS after the storm. Then - even though I had been telling them that it was an equipment failure outside of my building- he couldn't fix it and had to get a crew to come out later that night. I'm in the process of looking for a new company, I'm sure they all suck in some way, but Xfinity sucks the most. read more

Unlike most reviews that talk about Comcast, the company, this review is about this store specifically. I have Comcast equipment I've been holding onto for five months. Comcast has been hounding me to return it. I thought, this was a good opportunity to go to the interview and then walk over to this location and drop off the equipment afterward. When I got there, there was a line outside of the store. No problem. The line was a mid-sized line. No problem. There was a sign on the window that said 1:1 ratio of one Comcast employee to one customer, which I eventually found out made the line go slower. Still no problem. The problem was this: I was at the back of the mid-sized line waiting my turn. I was last. There was a guy and a girl employee working there. One by one, the people in front of me get called to enter the store (again, the line was outside of the store). When I get to the front of the line I'm thinking one of the two employees (the guy or the girl) is going to come out and get me like they did with the people in front of me. By this time there were two people behind me. We were all standing there for about ten minutes. The guy and the girl would come out of the store repeatedly and walk right back into the store taking a customer with them. That was the process. As I'm staring down at my phone, I see the two customers in the queue behind me walk right into the store. I literally tell them, "there's a line." The male employee was then helping them pay their bill instead of saying, "wait a minute, I'm helping this guy first. He was in line ahead of you." At this point, I'm incensed thinking, "Why do you guys have a freaking line in the first place if you're not going to honor it?" I don't say this out loud, I'm thinking it. And it's not like the employees didn't know what the line order was, because again, they came out of the store repeatedly and saw me, plus the glass was transparent. I go into the store thinking, "if these customers can go in, I can go in." The guy worker after first helping out the people who were in line behind me asked if he could finally help me. I'm annoyed with him because I'm thinking this guy waved or signaled the customers behind me to come into the store. I told him I would wait for his female colleague, who was with another customer. He didn't want to honor the line and opted to help the people standing in line behind me, fine, go and help those people. He asked me to wait outside, which I did. No problem. By this time, the line evaporated. It's me and someone's grandma out there. By far, I was the one waiting in line the longest out of everybody. He then comes out minutes later and asked if he could help me because his coworker went on "break." Whether or not she actually went on break (especially after only one hour of opening the store-the store opens at 10 am, I was there around 11 am-11:15 am) is a discovery that NASA scientists are going to have to figure out, but the whole thing was ridiculous. We then did the transaction where I dropped off the equipment and picked up my receipt within 1-2 minutes. My issue is this: If you're going to have a line and ask people to stand in line outside of the store and have a sign that says there's a 1:1 ratio of Comcast employees to customers, then honor that freaking line. If you can't honor it, then don't have it. You can't have a line one minute and then wave people in the next. It makes no sense. Had I known this was the kind of customer service I was going to get, I probably would've kept the equipment for an additional five months and avoided this place altogether. To be fair to the guy, he was a cool dude, I just thought what he did wasn't cool. He also asked me multiple times why I wanted to deal with his female coworker. I think he thought I knew her or was into her or something. It wasn't that I knew her or was into her. I felt slighted by the fact that I waited in line, was last in line, made my way up to the front of the line, and then you allowed people to just get ahead of me and walk right into the store. Imagine how the people (and also the Comcast employees) would've felt if I didn't go to the back of the line but instead cut to the front or simply walked right into the store? I'm chuckling as I write this because the star rating and reviews for this place are quite awful. I had a nice experience here.... I bought an HDMI cable for my TV and when I went to hook it up I realized that my basic cable box did not have an input option for HDMI. I called Comcast and a customer service representative explained that I needed an HD box and the service will cost $10/mo more. Fine. I agreed to upgrade. Instead of paying for shipping (I believe it was around $15) I decided to pickup a new box while I was out and about running errands. This location has very easy parking as it is part of a shopping center. I appreciate that-- easy parking is a delicacy in this town! Once I arrived, there was a short wait to visit a rep at a window. She appeared tired/bored, but was knowledgeable and helpful. I explained what I needed, dropped off my old box and within minutes I was out the door with a new remote, cable box, and cord. The process was very seamless to me. I didn't pay a dime, get charged a deposit, or have to wait to get equipment. I'm content! read more

How is it that the only type of people Xfinity can find to work for them is trash? I had issues with a new phone and had to walk into a physical Xfinity location per customer service. Somehow I get assigned to this angry, lazy, and incompetent employee named Mary. While waiting for my phone to sync she started texting on her personal phone and chatting with another employee, who was also texting, about the previous technology company they used to work for. They both kept their phone below the table so it didn't look like they were doing anything they weren't supposed to. Her laziness and incompetence caused havoc on my phone and billing for the next 4 months. I was billed for two phones when I only had one. I wasted countless hours having to talk to customer service, supervisors, and management trying to fix it. This process was so incredibly frustrating, someone at the top needed to know. So I emailed the CEO notifying him about the unqualified and unprofessional employees he has working for him, you know it got his attention when unexplained to him that this is the reason why his revenue fluctuates, because it isn't the product. Meanwhile, Xfinity is paying employees to do personal things while working. Management in-house clearly doesn't care. When employees are allowed to do "personal things" this prevents them from giving customers full attention to handling the issue appropriately. Time is the new currency, and I have zero time to give businesses that don't run a tight ship. All of these issues caused me to find another company to give my business to. The days of valuing a loyal customer are long gone. That mentality no longer exists, and it shows. As a customer, you're also not obligated to be loyal to them as a company. My recommendation is to compare prices once a year to see if you're getting the best deal and go with the company that offers you the best value for what you're getting. Customer service at Xfinity is not a top priority, and most of the time, I can't even get a representative on the phone that speaks proper English. I usually have to repeat my question because the representative doesn't understand it the first five times I asked. Not only were they an hour before hours online but calling any location takes you to a 800 number which is only a machine or AI. In moving to a new address I called to change the location which resulted in multiple phone calls that took over 45 minutes with their xfinity assistant which isn't very helpful at all. Constantly never understood question I was asking and a pain to speak to a live person. The first representative changed my address but cancelled my current plan and started a new one which interfered with my mobile service and connection making things worst. One issue was the coax cord didn't make the move and looking online to see when they closed and to get on 2 buses to get there I was shocked to see a 8.5 x 11 paper sharing they had new store hours which instead of 7 pm they were closed at 6 pm?? Did no one inform Google to update this info? It wasn't just me but several people who came by Uber, bus or drove found out that they were no longer open until 7 pm. Back to the annoying automated system which left me more upset than the beginning. Finally when connected to live person, one told me they corrected problem and that in 45 min I would be all taken care of. That never happened so had to call again. Their poor staff and the prompt they go off of is soooo long and drawn out repeating my name or thanking me for length of service was so frustrating because a 45 min call minus all that butt kissing script would probably be 10 min. Saving us all time to do something really productive. I finally went in store because I was fed up with robots and the store staff was attentive and very helpful, good customer service cannot be dependent on AI answering machine's. After about a week got all the issues resolved and hopefully I don't have to go through all this again because I lost so much time I can't get back. I forgot to mention when I turned in cancelled equipment when I got the new equipment. They were busy and when I handed it to the employee he said he could scan it and return it and I asked him to cancel the appointment they insisted on giving to ensure proper set up (plugging it in) was done, he never cancelled it and wasted this gentlemen's job. This listing reads as a venting forum for a variety of issues from programs to service and pricing. There's not many less than 2-star businesses that I patronize much less review. Back to my experience, my family has a history spanning from the Viacom days (remember black and white TV's?!) to the now. Our attitude has been, 'if it ain't broke, it's fine'. Well, due to a family issue, I learned from my visit to this store that the best solution was to close the old account and open a new one under my name. The female rep who helped me was courteous and patient in gathering my information and history before having to engage her manager Arrio in helping me. In doing the mentioned change, he explained the benefits in what they eventually did: a. clearing from red tape and confusion, b. upgraded services and channel access, and c. I like this one, a price savings of nearly 30%. He explained the procedure clearly and told me of all the upgrades in opening the new account; they helped me schedule an appointment with a technician to upgrade our equipment (signal boosters) and organizing our home service. A couple weeks later, I brought back our old equipment as promised and he met me at the greeting desk. I complimented him on helping me bring our home Wifi and cable service into the 21st century. Horrible company! Extortionists!! I have 2 accounts for 2 different homes and have to wait a couple more months before shit-canning them forever but cant wait until I walk their equipment into a local store and end this nightmare. I pay nearly $200 per month for each account and have no land lines and don't get any special channels. I always called in my payment but now that is no longer an option and they keep texting me saying that will cut me off soon if I dont pay. They dont seem to have the ability to separate the accounts when I pay online since I have paid one of the accounts twice now and have to spend an hour calling in to speak to someone which they make nearly impossible through their automated system. On top of that, the bill goes up every month and always will. When I finally did get someone on the phone, they were in another country. Dont want to pay Americans to do this huh???!!! All the more reason to cancel this situation. They are very shady, charging you for things you dont want or need and then over charging for basic things that should just be in the basic package. I would love to see them fail but it probably wont happen. All I can do is try to warn you and get the hell off when I can. Stay away from this crap show of a corporation, they will steal from you and then send you threatening texts and cut you off even though you are trying to pay them. Prior to any account changes, I bought my own modem "Docsis 3.1" to use with my current service. Upgraded my plan with comcast to the gigabit internet. The plan includes a free modem with 24 month of service. Unfortunately the modem that they sent me "tg3482g / XB6" has a loud humming noise coming from the internal fans. Inquired about a modem swap on twitter and they told me to go to the store. Came into this store. First rep scanned my modem replacement in and brought out a new one. She was going to scan the new one into my account and it blocked her for some reason. She called over a senior rep "BIANCA" and that rep told her to charge my account $13 for a new modem. I overheard and confronted them. Told them that the modem was included for free. Why are you charging me? She said that's the only way to get your modem swapped. Wow? How are you going to charge me something that was free? And esp when the modem has a manufacturer defect for loud noise? read more

Comcast customer service is abysmal. You cannot speak directly with customer service reps in the United States. A technician was in my area on 11/6/2023 to perform "routine maintenance ". My service was working well until them. When the service went down, I was told by the automated system that my service would be back up by 4:20 pm on 11/6 After speaking with a customer service representative in the Philippines who said his name is Ravi, I was told tha a tech would be out on 11/7 between 5 and 7 pm. Then I received an appointment for a tech to come out on 11/9 between 8 am and 10 am. What is supposed to happen between now and then? You just have to be firm in your no if you don't want something added/certain plans.
