Just have to say that Drew Barry was BEYOND helpful to my husband and myself yesterday. I wish I could give less than 1 star. I work from home and I can say without a doubt that the product is terrible. I have to rely on my hotspot, because the internet isn't strong enough. According to an internet speed test I am nowhere near where I should be for the plan I am paying for. They have atrocious customer service. It is virtually impossible to get through to an actual representative if you try to call to resolve your problem and when you go into the store they don't have enough people working for the amount of people that need help (duh). They schedule someone to come out and they don't show up. Also EXPENSIVE! And they keep raising the rates on you every year All in all, if I had any other option I would be gone, but apparently they are the only company that services my area, so hopefully I can at least help someone else make an informed decision. After 3.5 years with AT&T, happy to say I am DONE with them. Xfinity/Comcast got my business. I recently moved. I called ATT on July 22. I made it clear to them that I am almost 50 with a 3 year old. In order to maintain my sanity through the move, it was PERTINENT they have either my cable/internet installed BY August 1. I had access to the new house after the 25th. That gave them six full days with a week advance notice. SOOOOOO....Let me tell you about this. Between the 24th of July & the 3rd of August (And yes I have proof of this) I logged 7 hours 2 minutes with ATT. I spoke with AT&T people in the Philippines, Russia, Someplace I've never heard of or couldn't even pronounce and the US. Every friggin call was a minimum of an hour. Half of that with me trying to understand what these people are saying. So we got moved. The first goes by the second goes by. Finally in the morning of the third I called Xfinity. I'm gonna be honest with you people. I called six other service providers in my area. Two of them came out and said because there's a tree they couldn't help me. Blows me away cause I'm in the dead center of town. Whatever. Everybody kept telling me to get Xfinity. I had a bad experience with the local cable company when my older daughter was a baby. Let's say 20 years ago. Anyway long story short. I gave in and I called Xfinity. This lesson is going to teach me to listen to other people. ( I hope nobody in my family sees this. I'll never hear the end of it ) **They had somebody out within 24 hours. **It was about $60 cheaper a month, And let me tell you the Internet is 100 times better. And I have every channel, including pay channels. HBO, showtime etc. **No more hunting for a channel by hand. The Xfinity remote, you just talk into it. Who came up with that!! I love convenience. **So by the time my Xfinity installer got here. Yes he got here on time. I was burnt - I was frustrated - I was pissed. ** My installation guy was Kadin. Adorable, witty & smart as a whip. Young Indian gentleman. We had great conversation. He went through everything with me. I'm sad to say I will probably never get to be graced by his presence. ** I can honestly say the only thing I was disappointed in, was the big fat installation fee. $100. First bill was almost 300$. It's 10:51 am Saturday. Waiting for a Comcast "tech" to make his 10:30 am appointment. Called Comcast and automated said no appointment scheduled. I waited 20 minutes @ Comcast store to schedule appointment and asked for a confirmation after it was scheduled. Unfortunately, did not get the name of the employee. Now I get to wait for an appointment between 1 and 3 on a Sunday afternoon. And this is among so many reasons why we refer to Comcast as "Comcrap!" We are paying for 75Mbps Download and 5Mbps Upload, I have run test several times and we never get this rate. I just ran it again through www.speedtest.net and got 1.54Mbps Download and 4.09Mbps upload. (This is not a mistake, we are paying extra to get the 75Mbps and I am getting 1.54Mbps right now. I would love to have an alternative, we had Hughesnet before and never had this problem. read more

Disgustingly rude workers who are clearly miserable. I walked in right after one guy and we both had to wait a few minutes because the two saleswomen on the floor were busy helping customers. They didn't look our way or even bother to greet us. Finally, a woman came from the back and loudly sighed that she had to restart a computer, and voiced her frustration. At this point, a man came in after me and had to wait as well. The man in front of me was finally helped but the whole time the worker was so rude to him. He stated one thing and she was confused and rudely said "that is not what you just said. I thought you said ..." with such an annoyed tone in her voice. Like wtf? Just listen to what your customer is saying, it is your job, do not argue!! Finally another worker finished with a customer and looked right at me, gave me a dirty look and then continued to help the guy who came in after me. I just walked out because at this point I was in there for about 10 minutes, and not one worker would even acknowledge me. Terrible customer service. The manager should actually employ people who do not look absolutely *miserable* and reflect that in the way they talk. All I had to do was return a modem, so it could have been an easy visit. I just wanna share my experience with one of the worker in Comcast in Petaluma . I had Maria to help me . She was very helpful , easy to talk to and gave me all the promotion I can get . I've been with Xfinity for how many years now and they been really good to us . I asked Maria if she's the store manager and she said no but the way she handles customer service made me think that she's the manager because shes very knowledgeable about the service . So if you want somebody who can explain the service to you ..look for Maria . I had a couple people that helped me before in this same store but I didn't get all my questions answered until I went back the next day and had Maria to help me . I was there Friday to pay on account and the girl that was to help me was RUDE - No Skills and Not helpful at all. Recently I called Comcast to upgrade my service. I wanted to add an outlet, maybe two and was told that there was a bundle that included 5 HD boxes. Based on that information I went with the 2 extra outlets. Then my bill comes, there is a charge for $9.95 for an additional outlet charge. So, I call today only to be told that the bundle only includes 4 outlets not 5. I am really upset. I purchased 2 additional TVs for the 2 additional outlets. I would have only purchased 1 TV and only had 1 installed. So I call to complain, for the first time ever and am told Sorry, can't do a thing about that. Not cool Comcast employee! Had the worst customer service experience last week ever ! Came in to pay my bill and was getting charged more than usual because my "rate had changed" I'm not usually in charge of handling the bills and was not aware that my husband has already come in 2 months prior , 2 MONTHS PRIOR to our expiration date on our plan and had already spoken to someone (same rep I was talking to) and he was trying to sell me a "cheaper plan" if I added a phone service long story short he was trying to play me and make me pay an extra 200 dollars that I didn't even owe because he was trying to make a "commission/ sale" If my husband had not come in and recognized the rep (which was the same one he'd spoken to 2 months earlier) we would've paid more than our regular plan and added an unnecessary service, the look on his face when he saw who my husband was and recognized him clearly he played himself ... He went to lunch and refused to help us went with another rep and she explained that he "would have a talking to" honestly so pissed at this young man I felt very manipulated and lied to.. I refuse to come into this Comcast service center ever again it will be my last resort I made sure to call the 800 number and report this rep as he was very unprofessional and made a fool of himself considering switching to AT&T just because the customer service rep made me so uncomfortable .. I was so I went to talk to a real person about service issues I had been experiencing and a friendly and helpful guy named Jon actually helped me. I still think Comcast is a really expensive and terrible company that will change your rates as soon as your "promotion" ends. As far as going into the store and having them help you though it is certainly worth a try. read more

This is an update to my November posting. After the incident, I wrote a letter of complaint to the Headquarters in Philadelphia. A couple of days later, I received a call from a woman who asked me to review the details of the incident. She was appalled, needless to say. She said my incident would be used in training as what NOT to do or say. She refunded my $40 for the notorized signatures and $150 credit toward my bill and apologized repeatedly. She said that they would be contacting the manager of the store (she had his name), and that I should expect hearing from him. To date, I have never heard from the manager or anyone at the Petaluma Office. I had to recently go in to the Petaluma office and escaped there without an incident. Though this encounter went okay, I will NEVER trust the people there. I remain on guard. read more

I've had mixed experiences with customer service at this store. Seng is very helpful and Nate was wonderful. There is a very angry woman with eyelashes longer than her nose who glares at everyone and does a lot of yelling when someone walks in the door...."Take a seat, we'll be with you as soon as we can!" she screams at the top of her voice, clearly annoyed that someone has walked through the door. I've been with Comcast for decades and have always received mixed service. Today I had an appointment with a technician who never showed up, which is why I went into the store today, on a Sunday. The woman I spoke with clearly didn't care that I had wasted my entire day waiting for the Comcast technician. Comcast employees who are in customer service need to make a little more effort to at least be pleasant to their customers. That didn't happen for me today--and many other times as well. I'm not sure what the problem is but the company needs to read some of these one star reviews and figure out what they're doing wrong. read more

The customer service here is atrocious. Sean at the front had absolutely no idea what he was doing. Took me 20 minutes for him to understand I wanted to keep my existing account and add a new one to a different home. The guy could literally not comprehend what I needed. Kept talking in circles and over me while I was asking questions to the point where I had to ask him to respectively shut up and listen to what I needed. Ask for my bill, "you haven't even used it yet how could you have a bill?!?" Keep in mind I now have two accounts. I told him that was fine and I will just pay for the one service if he insisted. Got home and my current account was shut down. No internet no phone no tv. This place is an absolute joke. Was told my name was "Hanson" after I had already "checked in" (my name is Adam) the lady told me not tell people fake names. Like what the actual hell? Comcast sucks and this place is loaded with liars that just want to make commission and nickle and dime you for everything. I went in looking for only internet. I spoke with some guy named Jose that told me that they had a special for $29.99 a month. I thought that was an okay deal, so I agreed to it. He then mentioned for an additional $20 a month I could get TV cable. I don't really watch TV, but I asked if sports was included because baseball season was starting and I figured that $20 a month was cheaper than going to a bar several times a month to watch the game. He assured me that sports was included. Of which it clearly wasn't once I got everything up and running. He asked if I needed someone to come install (which was $50 or $100- can't remember now) or I could do self installation for free. I chose the "free" option. I went hope tired to install and it didn't work, so I called a tech guy on the phone for him to walk me through and they still couldn't get a signal to my "cable ready" apartment. They told me that at no-cost a technician would come out to my place and get everything set-up. Once they came to my house and the original line wasn't properly grounded, so 4 hours later everything was set up. No one told me it was going to cost me $130.00. So I was a little pissed to say the least when I got my first bill only TWO WEEKS (but they bill me for an entire month) into my service, showing that I had to pay $30.00 for the self-installation and then another $130.00 for the tech to come out. So I had to pay $160.00 for installation! Which is crazy when is was supposed to be all free. Not only that, but then i'm stuck with $50 service that doesn't even have what was promised. Try to talk to someone at the local branch... good luck. Only tel numbers listed are for the toll-free dial-a-decision-tree number. Not surprisingly, I called looking for a solution to a simple problem and it was a none of the above type option (but none of the above is not on the phone tree), so I spent way too much time finding out a way to accomplish what I was trying to do (get a modem "assigned" to my account so I'd have internet), only to do EXACTLY what they said to do and than be told there was something different I needed to do. Did EXACTLY that new thing, and - shocker - was told the same thing: it's not working, and now I need to do a different thing to make it work. Last call took 49 minutes. It was my fourth call. Senior citizens beware and everyone beware. Second time I will have to go Petaluma to return a box of equipment I never ordered. Then they charge you on your bill for non usage. Why doesn't the government agencies do something. I heard a woman on KGO this May 2015 tell the same story I am telling. The visiting attorney on KGO told the woman to call customer service.Ho Hum First time I returned the equippment, and the service clerk appeared to know what he was doing, the charges did not come off my bill though. I had to call and speak with someone in I believe Manila. More of my time! I have specified that we don't stream anything therefore we don't need streaming boxes. Another box was sent about 5 months later. We all know that Comcast has been voted the worst company in America. I will switch now. Just wanted to recognize a positive experience with Comcast employee, Maria, at the Petaluma office. AS a new customer, I was offered some incentives that were not indicated on my estimated bill sent to me by Comcast. I knew what I had been told but had no proof other than my word. Maria recognized that I had been in earlier and had maintained in her notes the terms of the agreement and made the modifications, and even saved me another $5.00 on HBO! I have not yet received my official bill from Comcast but at least now I give it a better chance of being what we agreed upon! read more

It is unbelievable to me that a company can stay in business with the level of service that Comcast offers. That's what a monopoly will do for you. If you are a business, please, please, please do NOT sign up for Comcast service. Our company signed up for Business Phone Service (A PRI circuit) and 150mb internet service on a 3 year contract one year ago. We told them that during the term of our contract we would definitely be moving and asked if that would be an issue. "Definitely not" was the story. So we proceeded. Fast forward 1 year where we are just moving down the hallway in the same building. Call them up and tell them we are moving and we just want to move our equipment. They don't have to do anything, our data contractor will run the cable and move the equipment. NOPE. Not only can't we move the equipment, but we have to sign an entirely new 3yr agreement at more expensive pricing. That doesn't work for us as we will be moving again in 2 more years which would be coterminous with our original contract but we would have to do this all over again if we have to sign a new agreement. After DAYS or dealing with this and pushing up to managers I finally got them to agree to a new 2 year agreement at just a small price bump. Any other time I would think I got screwed but with Comcast I call that a win. Moving day comes and we have planned carefully for it. We make the call to switch the services over to the new equipment and, sure enough, it does not work. My engineer had to spend several hours on the phone with the technician. During this time, my engineer was telling him exactly what the problem was but he would not believe him. The Comcast engineer was telling us they would need to roll a truck and it would be the next day at best that they could get here. This is a business and we are completely down without these circuits. Still, no sense of urgency at all from the engineer on the phone. My engineer says that we will agree to let them roll a truck if, first, we can try just moving our old equipment down to the new space. If that doesn't work we'll concede to them rolling a truck and being down the rest of the day. The CC engineer says there is no way that will work but if we want to try it to make us happy we can. We move the equipment and sure enough everything comes up immediately (Something that my engineer has been saying for over 2 hours at this point). The CC engineer is puzzled and says ok, he'll set our account to have that old equipment still (again, something that I asked them if we could do two weeks prior and was told that was impossible). Then the engineer proceeds to tell us that it is lucky we are doing that because the old router we are using is much better than the new router they gave us anyway. UGH!!! read more

This is about the failure of my installation by Xfinity READ IT, ITS FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sad but true Last Sunday you were suppose to install The Xfinity Triple-Premier package. Your sub-contractor couldn't find the place. He called I walked a few blocks and got his attention(supply your people with GPS devices, come on your in the technical field act like it. What smart phone doesn't have one now a days) OK I can live with that no problem. he was here and it turns out they are not allowed to run coaxial line over a doorway, window or roof! This is almost futile to send someone out who cannot run your cable line over a doorway, window or roof( a lot of homes come with those features now a days you should send people who are prepared to work on these crazy homes I speak of, these ones with windows, doors and roofs...really they do exist...they are all the rage out here in Sonoma now) So I tell him, "no problem I will run the cable in those areas, now mind you I am legally permanently disabled due to a motorcycle wreck) but hey it is Sunday and I want to watch football. Now mind you the other cable company has been cancelled so I am planning on TV being restored right away. Well the sub-contractor gets a call and now Infinity is sending someone who is licensed to do all the work required to do the work they have committed to have done in-between 8 and 10 am Sunday November 20th. OK I can live with this I wont have to work on Sunday morning and I shouldn't be on a ladder anyway(oh yeah I ran into a second cousin today who thought I was dead from the motorcycle wreck I got into last Dec. 31st 2016. It was that bad of a wreck they spent three days just keeping me alive, I flew 160ft before I landed, that was measured by the CHP so you can imagine I shouldn't be on a ladder) but I was willing to do it to get the job and TV back on. So great your tech is coming..... I finally called and found out that the ball was completely dropped and now you need to reschedule my installation on 11/28/16 between 8-10am. So now we will go 8 days without TV-NO FOOTBALL NO NEWS NO NOTHING I WONDER IF I CAN GET DIRECTV BACK? Also the sub-contractor says that your modems do not supply Wi-Fi. Your sales people have assured me that they do. We might find out. It pays to visit this store. They go out of their way to help. Meanwhile, phone support is beyond horrible. Comcast should can phone support and give raises to these guys. Sadly, I still don't have service, but it's not because of them. There's a reason why monopolies are bad for consumers, yet cable and internet are still granted monopolies. The worst customer service! I stood there waiting for 15 minutes. Not one time did someone look up and say "can I help you"?or "sign in please"or anything. Then another family came in, and signed in. That's when I noticed I needed to sign a sheet. The tech saw me standing there the whole time. Never looked up; never said I'll be with you soon; sign in; Nothing !! Then he walked past me to the sheet like I wasn't even there. Proceeded to call the other family's name after I had been standing there the whole time. The family was nice enough to ask if I would like to go ahead but the EMPLOYEES couldn't care one bit. I left totally disappointed AGAIN in COMCAST!
