After our internet bill jumped 17% with no warning, we wanted to see if there was any way to reduce our monthly expenditure. We called their "customer service" and after waiting 25 minutes to speak to someone, spoke to a guy for an hour who offered some good deals to save $20 or $30 but then when we started drilling down trying to confirm we'd have the same service and wouldn't lose speed or our landline, things got a little fuzzy. So we decided to go in person to the Xfinity store where we wasted an hour talking to someone who was very nice but who was clearly constrained by Xfinity policy. When we mentioned some of the deals the guy on the phone said, he told us that guy was probably lying. Although that didn't inspire confidence, we asked what he could do. He came up with a few different options and we found one that would save us $15 per month...nothing life changing but every little bit helps. Of course, when we asked for it in writing and he tried to send the info to our Xfinity app on our phone, it kept showing a higher price. He called a manager and they could both see in their system that it showed the discounted price but when it was sent to us, it was the higher price. There was absolutely nothing they could do to actually give us the price they quoted us and that they could see in their system. Xfinity knows the have a monopoly in parts of Danbury so there's no need to treat customers as anything other than ATMs. So we'll suck it up and pay the extra $$$ per month as every other person has to. If anyone invented a cable/internet provider that didn't stink as much as Xfinity/Verizon/Spectrum, etc they would have a million subscribers in a heartbeat. read more

I was promised a newer more capable modem over the phone, model 10. All I had to do was go to the store and pick it up to replace my current model 8. Went to the store and they gave me the same model 8, the exact one I currently have. I thought it looked the same but figured the magic was on the internal components. Wrong, customer service told me they gave me the 8 because the 10 is not available in my area. HORRIBLE customer service. I have documented chat my bill was to be reduced and I was to receive a credit jumping from $20 to $65 then next month to $75. Agent promised my rate was changed back and a credit. Never happened. Called again now on phone chat for more than 3 hours. One agent said $55 then another agent said no only rate is $65. Not reputable company. There is not a person to speak to unless you escalate and then the person speaks in another language. Horrible. Cannot wait for Frontier FIber! read more

This review is not for this store it is for infinity in general while the WiFi works. You can't get anyone on the phone. AT ALL. You have to chat with AI who claim to be human. They don't fix anything and what could be a 3 minute phone call takes hours via chatbot. This company truly makes me feel bad for the future of the human race. We were not meant to argue with computers. If I had another option I would go with it however since everything is going this direction, it is a necessary evil and life is only going to get more difficult and expensive. I just moved to CT and had to speak to someone about returning some equipment for my brother who lives in another state. The automated voice that answered the phone could only cover a very limited number of options (none of which were to speak to a real person) and after about 10 minutes hung up on me. The service in NH was so much better. Here, it is abysmal. read more

Folks in the store were great, but holy cow I thought Spectrum was bad. If I ran my business this way I wouldn't have one. From the installation service call (for the guy that installed lousy lower bandwidth equipment and didn't even test my speed when complete) to the repeatedly and blatantly incorrect information provided by (impossible to get through to) customer service. Even with newer equipment I'm still stuck with lower speed zones throughout my home. I literally give up. I cannot imagine how you treat existing, loyal customers if this is how you treat new ones. if I could give zero or negative stars, I would. I ordered a new phone online on December 27, 2024. It was shipped by fed ex and never arrived. I tried to resolve through xfinity, but they washed their hands of it. I had to contact fed ex myself and get a report from fed ex that they lost the package. you would think that would be the end of the story...but sadly no. xfinity then asked me to file a police report. a police report?? for a phone that i never received??!! I tried to explain to them that it made no sense - that nothing was stolen from me. and still xfinity would not replace the order and what is worse....they wont let me cancel the order and are still billing me for the lost by fed ex phone!!! it is maddening! I have been in to the xfinity Danbury store three times and each time they say they have resolved the problem and that I just need to come back again. the last time I waited OVER an hour, I had an appointment with one of the reps, but he was double booked and I was the one that got stuck waiting an HOUR! ridiculous!! and after waiting an hour, the issue was still not solved. they promised to call me the next day - that was 2 weeks ago!! we are done with xfinity mobile. we are taking all 5 of our lines and moving to verizon! read more

Xfinity nd it's local resources are a punishment-from-God by any measure. They have dsigned a customer service system designed to beat you to death. I spoke to a representative via the Xfinity TEXT chat on their app. That is "their preferred method of communication". You can't call and speak to a person! I asked the agent if there were any promotions or any other options of lowering my bill without changing any of my services. First he made me give him a CC to "allow" him to offer me the new promotion! He said he wasn't changing anything to my card (he lied) he charged a $1 fee just to make sure it was a valid card. Then he said he could offer me something that would save me $25 (removing my landline). I told him I needed a more significant discount or I was going to change to another company. He then came back and said he could lower my bill from $360/mo to between $210-$220/mo without removing any services as long as I didn't cancel. I told him that would be great and I will remain a customer at that price. The next month I was charged $360 again. When I went through numerous chats and stopped at my local Xfinity store they all said they couldn't honor his deal because he never locked it in and there's nothing in writing. I explained that this was all done through Xfinity's chat and it is in writing. They still won't honor the deal they made me. I will now be canceling my account with them and subscribing to a new service. They lost a loyal customer because of lies and dishonesty. All they had to do was honor the price (right or wrong) for 1 year and that would've solved the issue. They chose to have me go elsewhere instead. DO NOT sign up with this service. They are terrible, always problems, and never a person to speak to. You have to deal with their app, which means dealing with an agent in another country. You can tell by the names in the chat, they are not from the USA and have no authority. I will post this on every social media channel and review them everywhere I can. This rating is based upon customer service at the store. Once, comcast sent me the wrong cable boxes. Recently, I received a message that I was eligible for a modem upgrade. I waited a while, as I knew there are always issues with the installation. Sure enough, the limited instructions which come with the modem are essentially useless. First of all, you need to download an app. It's not too clear which you need, as there are several Xfinity apps. I originally downloaded to my iPad. Great, it doesn't work when you're installing a modem. Delete, and add to my iPhone. I find The new modem doesn't have enough connections. Drive to Danbury and exchange modems, quickly and efficiently. Start to install the new modem. The connections are tight, and I now find I need to take a picture of the code on the bottom of the modem. Takes five minutes to complete. Finally, after an hour today and an hour yesterday everything works. Add another two hours travel time exchanging modems, and I have half a darks work. read more

Here's my cautionary tale about dealing with Xfinity or Comcast. On December 7, I called them because to discontinue cable service, and become an internet only customer. Their customer service representative gave me prices on 200 mbps (my then current speed) and 600 mbps. The 200 speed would be $77.95 per month, the 600 would be $87.95 per month. I asked if my modem/router (a Motorola) would be compatible with the faster speed, and she said yes. So I agreed to service with the faster speed. Over the next few days, I checked my speed using Speedtest.net, and was getting 80-90 mbps, which was just slightly faster (by about 10 mbps) thank I had been getting. So, on December 11, I called Xfinity to see why my speeds were so slow and just a little better that I had been getting before I upgraded. Customer support asked me to reboot my router three times, which I did. There was no improvement in speed. Eventually the representative to me my modem does not support the higher speed, that what I was told by Xfinity on 12/7 was wrong. I asked if I could change my service to the fastest compatible speed that Comcast offers. The representative said that would be 300 mbps, but it would cost more than I'm currently paying because they no longer are offering the same prices that they were on 12/7 (On 12/, they offered 300 mbps for $82.95.) I then asked if I could switch back to my original speed of 200, she said that too would be more than I'm currently paying! Again, they had a promo in effect on 12/7, (200 for $77.95), but that's no longer in effect. Next, she switched me to a customer retention rep, but she offered nothing further. So, I'm stuck in a 12 month agreement (with an early termination fee) paying for a speed that my modem does not support. This is infuriating! So be very careful with technical questions with Comcast. And be very careful with long-term agreements with them. read more

The actual data service and some of the hardware are actually top notch. The problem is that even the Home Techs must now connect to foreign centers, which are terrible. Comcast is trying to do everything by remote control, and all the back office has been farmed out abroad. The call system is the nightmare. All problems, no matter how many times you call on single case, begins with restart (even when that does not work). DO NOT buy their hardware. Even the home techs cannot services it, and must access via the owners mobile device. I went through a 3 month nightmare trying to return modems, extenders, and back up systems (all Xfinity branded and purchased at a Comcast office) after 2 home techs could not make the system work with their own Xfinity XB8 modem. It is a broken ecosystem due mainly to a horrible customer service structure which is hated by the store managers and home service tech's alike. read more

I needed a replacement phone jack and the agent on the phone said "You need a new modem too". Not being a specialist in internet or phone I said okay. HUGE MISTAKE. Everything was working okay. It had taken us a long time to work out the kinks with expanders and such. So in July Comcast comes in, sends a rookie without the proper training or equipment. He has to get instructions over the phone and leaves a mess of tangles stripped wires between the "new & improved modem router combo" stretched tightly. Good thing my dogs didn't walk back there. Then he proceeds to give us a new jack. I asked for one with two receptacles to receive to wires. He didn't have that. Now every time we go on the computer we have to sign onto a network, sometimes several times in one sitting. My upstairs TV/DVD was unwatchable because we couldn't get onto a network at all. This resulted in another in Home visit, multiple phone calls. For every ten calls you make to Comcast you get one person that can actually help. I am completely disgusted. Got tired of Frontier's low speed service in Danbury so inquired about cable internet service & was told only 2 providers can offer service in a given neighborhood per a law passed in 1997. A MONOPOLY! In the last 2 days of trying to purchase service from Comcast, we have spent about 6 hours on the phone, of which the last call today lasted 1hr 40mins & then it was hung up after holding for the last 40 mins of the call without a person answering & resolving our lack of a password for our new account. Everybody who has found Comcast to be so blatantly uncaring about their customers should WRITE TO THEIR CT REPRESENTATIVE AND CT SENATOR to seek OVERTURNING THAT STUPID LAW that totally allows a 'utility' to take advantage of the lack of competition for new customers!!!!!! Terminated my contract with COMCAST and had to drop off equipment at this location. No real issues except I returned all my equipment at one counter then was given a receipt to go wait in another line to do what? I then had to go up to the counter and submit the receipt. Well the first person that took all the equipment in failed to log in 2 pieces. There's nothing outwardly terrible about this location compared to other Xfinity locations, but as I should have expected, the folks here didn't really care about any inconvenience they might cause me over the course of their day. After spending my morning on the phone yelling at the automated voice recognition software (which is the worst thing to happen to customer service since hold music), I finally got connected to a real person who told me I needed to go to the store to get my problem fixed. After going to the address the woman in the phone gave me and finding out that location had relocated their retail office, I drove back across town to the new location only to find out that they didn't want to help me either. The part of this that really bothered me is that this whole problem stemmed from them forgetting to mail me the cable box that came with my service. Despite it being entirely their fault, they made me waste a few hours of my day trying to fix it. Recently I received a bill from Comcast for $.96 I canceled my account over a month ago and paid my balance in full upon returning my equipment so when I received a bill for $.96 I decided to go to the Comcast store in Danbury to talk about it. I spoke with a nice man named Leo who thought there must be a mistake but also understood my concern that I don't want to be sent to collections for something I do not owe. Leo was very professional and he asked a woman for her opinion and guidance on the situation and she was not nice and did not have good customer service about my concerns. She basically told me to go F myself and that the bill is my responsibility no questions asked. I told Leo I would write this review about him and how he handled it as I was disturbed with his coworker and I think she could take a few lessons from him on professionalism. Leo ended up giving a dollar from his own pocket to reconcile my bill I did ask him not to and that I would fight the cost. I plan on reaching out to Comcast central billing office to let them know that not only was the bill ridiculous but Leo should not of had to pay for this mistake as the bill was already rectified. read more

Extremely high prices!! Service often has many issues. Blue screen while watching tv; says your equipment is not registered and to call customer service. By time you get someone on the line your tv is back working again and they have no idea what was wrong. Constant screen flickering and HD choppy video. On demand sucks and has the same old crap movies. Service often gives error codes and you have to unplug the box and wait 5 minutes to authorize and another 15 minutes to get on demand working again. Customer service is useless unless you need them to send your equipment a signal. Internet is fast but goes down every Tuesday from 1:30 am to 5:00am. Don't expect to use your phone during that time or get notifications from xFinity alarm service because you have no internet.. Overall a money pit for quality of service and terrible programming. A few years ago they deleted about 15 channels from their list of channels. Mostly HD HBO, showtime, Cinemax channels and their excuse was the movies we show on these channels can be found on On-Demand. Well I'd like more channels like offered by other companies. You also charge too much for equipment. I don't believe I should have to have a cable box for every tv I own and you should offer cheaper equipment and better service. This locations as well as the company as a whole has been terrible nightmare to work with. read more
