My experience at Verizon involved a group plan, and two out of the three members were present; the third was present by phone. The manager was pleasant, professional and assisted us, and spoke with our third party via phone. He then assigned us a gentleman, Joao, a Verizon specialist. He spent quite a good deal of time with us while we connected the accounts, new phones, and he was appreciative of some of the legwork one of us, my daughter, did to make the process work smoothly. He also transferred photos from the old phone to the new one without my asking for it! The overall experience, which later included another employee helping us with a USB-C adapter, was all positive. I think it's fair to say that Verizon Wireless doesn't care about their customers one way or the other. I've had my phone with them since 1998 and whenever I've called them about anything, they consistently give "take it or leave it" type answers so I'm used to not having terrific customer service so I was surprised that I was surprised by the level of service at this store considering my expectations were already so low. My poor Pixel 5 was limping along due to its advanced age and the fact that I dropped it twice recently. I decided to bite the bullet and get a Pixel 7a so when we walked by the store, I walked in, asked the guy behind the counter who barely looked up if they had it in stock and went to look at it when he pointed to the wall where it was displayed. The size was bigger than I would have liked but it was okay so I went and told him I wanted to buy it. He let me know that he could add it to my account for on a three year payment plan and I said that I would be happy just to pay for it now and he said he couldn't help me. I was confused because I'd checked the website the day before and I knew I could buy it online but he said that's not possible in the store. He said I could go to Best Buy if I wanted to purchase it. Recalling that I could buy it online and that he did say they had one in stock, I asked if I could purchase online and request pickup at the store and he said that would probably work, so I sat down, did everything online on my crippled Pixel 5 (I was trying to keep the horrible truth of its replacement away from it) and submitted the order. He went in the back for about 10 minutes, then came out with a bag with my phone. After I opened the box to ensure there was a phone in it, I left with my new purchase. Again, although not surprised, I'm disappointed in the level of service from Verizon. I've been a customer for 25 years and even conservatively estimating a payment of $100 per month during that time, I've given them over $30,000 but they still make me do all the work to get a phone. I'm not faulting the guy who works there for Verizon's ridiculous policy and I guess I appreciate the recommendation to try Best Buy but it's clear that the company would love to do away with staff altogether and have the customer do all the work. But if you have people in the store, why don't you let them sell? I get it, but it's a business model designed to reduce costs. I'm also too lazy to switch to AT&T or another provider so they know they have me. But I wouldn't recommend Verizon to anyone and especially in that area of Connecticut, the coverage that used to be very strong has degraded in the past few years so maybe I should see if another provider is better. If he is the manager teaching 4 young employees who saw how he handled my question to someone else they are in for trouble for future consumer sales or management roles. He is how NOT to act to a customer. I went in totally fine with a question about their bill practices and was met by a nice young man named Louis. Well Tom didn't even let Louis get a word out before he basically yelled at me about the question I asked. Talk about turning someone happy into a raging lunatic well his antagonistic tone sure did that. I think Tom could use some more training and to his 4 employees watching him at the time; this is how NOT to treat your customers even if they come in mad. Your job is to DE-escalate the situation not escalate it! Come on Verizon make it simple so everyone can understand. I have a masters in finance and I can't even figure it out. When I was finally acknowledged, the worker encouraged me to go to the Apple Store, giving me incorrect information. If I could rate this location a 0 I would, but unfortunately yelp does not allow that. The employees at this location are rude and misrepresent products and deals in order to make a sale. They will tell you something is "free" on your bill and when you confront them with their lie they argue even when showed an increase on the bill in black and white. I bought a brand new iPhone X and they told me that they couldn't activate it and I would have to use my own WiFi at home. When I asked for a manager, a nasty woman came up in my face and told me "I was done" and needed to leave their store. When I called corporate they informed me that this location is not an authorized dealer and the employees are not Verizon employees. If I could give this store zero "0" stars that would be my choice. After spending over an hour I. The store asking questions about their new unlimited plans with Chris at Verizon and also checking with AT & T(very professional in explaining every detail) I choose Verizon, as there's no fee if I decide to upgrade at a later date... with that being said, Chris made the change for me & I immediately began getting overage messages and emails that I'd be charged $15 per gig for every gig over. Mind you I had an "more everything with 10g shared". When I asked Chris for the plan back (four Minutes had transpired) he couldn't do it; and wanted to give me a credit of $10 for the overage/per line. Really! I'd be at a loss for that help. I asked to speak with a manager and waited. Then I called the Verizon toll free number and spoke with "Amanda" who was very apologetic for my hour and half waiting in the store and no store manager showing up; not only did two sales associates tell me the manager would be right out but the entire time I was on the phone with Amanda (32minutes to be exact) no store manager appeared. Verizon needs to improve in their customer service or everyone should use the call center or go online to avoid the long unprofessional wait. I went into this store several times as it is close to home. I was always treated well. At my last visit I went in and was helped by Estefania Escobar. I was asking questions regarding my storage on my phone. Estefania was extremely knowledgable and polite. She gave me some suggestions regarding my storage and also offered to charge my phone while I shop as my battery was low. When my youngest brother and I were walking around the Danbury Fair Mall on the Thursday of last week after purchasing a new iPad/iPad Air, we came in here after having realized that there is no Best Buy in this mall. We surmised that this place would have a clear case so he could show off his new golden iPad, and having had some experience with me having Verizon Wireless as my service in NY state, walked in. Although the space seemed spacious to see at first, when the employee asked to see the device or the receipt from his purchase (his purchase was in a bag that he was holding), he walked us over to the wall where all the accessories are sold, but after we told/asked him if they had a certain type, he told us that he could get one for us for purchase. He never told us how much it was, but we already could tell approximately how much they could be and with my brother "Money was no object." After a couple of minutes, the employee came back out from their door and walked us up to the counter to pay. Since they no longer use registers here, the employee picked up his iPad and began to ring up the purchase. His "buddy" sat next to him and was "playing" (watching some videos) on his (what looked to be) iPhone 7. His buddy even attempted to show off his "newly learned routine with whatever he was watching on us - the customer. (Oh boy; I've worked in sales before, and when in sales, that's not how you grab a sale - you don't sit on your butt while some other employee helps. Yes, the store was really empty but there were a few customers besides us that you could have been talking with and trying to obtain a sale from.) Anywho...we stuck with the sale, since my brother really needed this case (which to this day, still has not been put on but we have it laying around waiting for that specific day). We paid, he asked if he could add the product to the Apple bag instead of a fresh bag from Verizon. We almost didn't get a paper receipt had I not reminded him that we wanted a paper receipt. It took them an extra moment and out we went. Thanks. Had I not have had some experience with Sales from Verizon Wireless stores in NY State, I would have been appaled and walked out before the sale went through. I'll try to keep this in mind for the next time we need something from this location. read more

Conflicting information from sales associates in Brookfield and the store at the Danbury Mall, given incorrect information regarding promotional offers, not given information regarding rebate availability and existence of expiration dates and was misdirected to eliminate an existing number and add a new number to be in compliance with terms and conditions of promote, resulting in multiple activation charges, when the porting of another number already qualified. Purchase environment not customer friendly, and is done at crowded, noisy front desk, side by side with other customers. Review of contractual agreement difficult due to receipt tape print out which is impossible to read, lack of knowledge, understanding or patience on the part of the staff and pressure to sign,sign,sign... After purchase customer service requests are declined and are referred to the Verizon website resources or telephone customer support. Again, telephone support competency is inconsistent and difficult to accomplish with complex or multiple issues. Bottom line, avoid if you can, visit at off times if you must and interview multiple sales associates at multiple store locations and review online information, as well as printing out a hard copy and bringing the written documentation with you to the store & associate that you judge most competent, before making any decisions to insure that you receive the product and services Verizon represents they will provide, at the price, terms and conditions advertised. Based on the shared experiences of other Verizon customers I have talked to about my issues, the problems and complaints I have experienced appear to be relatively common. Cellphone service providers are second only cable and internet companies in evoking frustration and loathing amongst their customers. Where is Ralph Nader when you need him? Filing complaints with CT Consumer Protection appears to be an exercise in futility. Any attorney's out there searching around for a fat class action settlement? read more

Verizon should consider themselves fortunate that I am a long time customer who likes their product because if I would have walked away if I were a first time customer in this store. I went to this particular store to look at my options for an upgrade one evening and was treated very rudely by the 3 employees there. My girlfriend and I were greeted by a slew of jokes about our appearance, what a great way to draw people in! We were led around by one employee who seemed reluctant to tell me about anything besides their really expensive options. Before being rushed out (I get it, the place was at closing time, but still...) I was put on the spot to make a decision on purchasing something right then and there. I mentioned that I was still under my father's plan and she responded by literally saying "I wish you hadn't said that. This is illegal." The salesperson tried to con us into paying for 'the bundle' which she clearly gets a nice commission on. It was implied the bundle was free but it wasn't until I swiped my credit card that I finally was told I was paying for the 'bundle' of a speaker, case, and some other worthless accessory. I felt like I was getting taken advantage of by these verizon employees and I will never come back to this store and neither should you. I would switch to AT&T tomorrow if I could just to get away from the terrible customer service representatives like I dealt with last night. I went into Verizon after going to the Apple Store and being told the earliest appointment available was next week. I purchased my IPhone 6 from Verizon about 4 months ago and wanted them to assist me with a replacement. I demonstrated the issue with the phone which he could clearly see was no longer performing correctly however they told me they would not replace my phone without a NOTE from Apple saying it was broken... interesting seeing as if I had a LG phone I couldn't very well go to LG and get a note. After walking back to Apple and wasting 45 more minutes of my evening the guy at Apple chuckled and said they don't write out excuse notes for broken equipment. Apple offered to get me in Friday morning as soon as they opened if I could be there. I did not even bother going back to Verizon to tell Nick he was an absolute idiot, I instead called Verizon customer service. After an hour I was told that Nick was in fact lying and that even with this "note" he wanted, Verizon would still have to ship me a used phone, they would not replace it in the store. I will NEVER return to this Verizon store. Nick has no idea about his own company policies and that store doesn't deserve my business. I can't wait to get out of this contract! read more

A few years ago, I designated this verizon store is my go to store for wonderful friendly customer service. I would drive 30 minutes to this location even though I literally live next door to a huge verizon store that is 1 minute away which had terrible customer service reps out of touch with real customers and needs. How times have changed. Not sure if there was a change in management. I use to get these guys and now there is this unfriendly lady manager. Every time I go when she's working, I get horrible service from the employees. Today was my 2nd time getting horrible service within 6 months. The employee today really tried to deceive me. I had it. I am never coming back to this store. This is no longer my go to store. It's funny when I walked into today, one of the employees said, "Finally a customer!" Hahahaha...there was no business in this store. I was the only customer. Ummm, I wonder why? Duh! Bad horrible customer service. Does not take good care of the customer and keep customer happy. Too bad there isn't a selection to give ZERO stars. Went to Verizon store last night to get a direct replacement of my Samsung android. I have been out of my contract now for over a year, but faithfully continue to pay my bill monthly. When I entered the store a salesperson by the name of Tina, who could benefit from customer service training, took my information. I relayed my need to her and she escorted me to the phone selections. She slouched over the counter and told me that I would be billed $28/mos for the phone and my contract would be increased by another $20/mos. I said I only wanted a phone and why couldn't I just buy the phone? Very insultingly, she said, "What, are you going to pay $800 for a phone?" I said I wasn't going to increase my monthly bill to almost $50/mos for 2 years for a new phone and get pulled into another contract. She said I had to because when they originally "Gave" me the phone they lost $400 and now had to make it up!!! Are you kidding me?! This was insulting and I told her it was a crock of expletive, such a rip-off. I walked out and went to Best Buy where you can buy a phone without a contract. They can keep their contract-No Sale. read more

Although my issue hasn't been yet resolved I wanted to find a way to write a glowing recommendation for the two representatives in the Verizon Store at Danbury Mall who worked so hard to try to assist me yesterday evening. While my issue happens to be one that is especially confusing and unheard of both Tony the manager and Rebecca worked together to try to help me find a resolution yesterday evening. In fact Tony told me that he would be continuing to try to help me today when he went into work again. I have had some pretty terrible experiences with wireless providers in the past but this really solidified the reason I became a Verizon Wireless customer. they went above and beyond, and even stayed late after hours in the store to try to figure things out for me. As for my issue, if they are unable to reach a resolution today I will be sure to be calling Verizon corporate and anyone I can reach along the way to figure out how they could have done things so wrong with my account to result in this kind of confusion and trouble when simply trying to add 2 lines of service. Both Rebecca and Tony deserve recognition for their incredible customer service skills. I had gone to one previous store where the representative was less than friendly and even told me that no store around had the product I was looking for and he would have to order it, never once letting me know that there was an issue on my account. Without a doubt I am happy I visited the Danbury Mall Verizon store and will continue to do my business exclusively with that store. read more
