It's nice to go to a store where the workers are helpful and not pushy. I'll definitely go back.

WARNING: Do NOT order appliances from P.C. Richard. I ordered a new Frigidaire frenchdoor refrigerator and paid for delivery and for my previous fridge to be removed. The delivery people were rude and negligent and destroyed my new floors, my front door, my door casing/trim, the molding and the fridge itself. Just look at the photos. We had just spent a lot of money to remodel our new home and were excited to move in when this happened. What's worse, I put in a claim for damages with P.C. Richard and they DENIED my claim. They completely deny any liability and left me with almost FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS in damages. I have never encountered such HORRIBLE customer service in my life and will never order from P.C. Richard again -- and urge everyone else to do the same. Even if they're a little cheaper than other retailers, it's not worth the risk of destroying your home! read more

We purchased a stovetop with one person- process could not have been smoother. Based on that experience- we went back. Our original Salesman was on vacation. That should have been our signal to wait. We didn't. Ordered a fridge and double oven. They came out to measure and "discovered" we did not have standard cut outs for the ovens and told us our option was to buy two $10k+ ovens. I mean these folks really thought we were dumb and they kept at it until I got on the phone and told them to cancel the order. "All of a sudden" - they double checked their "measurements" and "oh sorry we made a mistake". We were able to keep our very nice original order which wasn't cheap to start with. I'm not saying everyone who works there is dishonest- I am saying the second process of ordering appliances felt incredibly deceitful. Some people who work there seem dishonest. Purchased a washer, dryer and dishwasher in March of 2023, all LG appliances from the Danbury, CT store. Needed one service on the dishwasher, so far, so good. Needed one service on the dryer, so far, so good. Needed service on the washer, not so good! Service was needed on the washer in July, August, September, and now in October of this year, all relating to the same problem, the circuit board. When technician came out on Sept. 27th, he replaced a part so we would be able to use the washer, but could not guarantee how long it would last. (Hoping it would last until the new board came in.) He had to order a new circuit board. Guess what, it didn't last the day! Called to tell them the situation and asked if we would be able to get a new washer since this was the third service call with the same problem. Was told NO because as long as parts are available we do not qualify for a new machine, and this is due to the fact that we purchased an extended warranty at a cost of $189.99. (Also took out warrantees on the other two appliances.) Called several more times without any satisfaction, told part is delayed, very frustrating. Called again today (October 7th) asking when part was coming in, spoke with Mike, said he would check on the delay and call me back within two hours. After three hours I called and the department was closed for lunch. So another hour passed and I finally received a call advising me the part was in and the scheduler said the earliest they could come out was in four days. I would of thought at least the next day. Now we are out 14 days without a washer and at a cost of $100.00 going to the laundry mat. In the past, the service was acceptable, but not this time! This is a very frustrating and totally unacceptable situation. Not at all happy with your service department and what guaranty do we have that this problem won't continue to occur? On the verge of a hip surgery (and no time for home complications), my Dryer gave up on me, and my waher is just as old. Consequently, after some research and quickly getting overwhelmed, I called P.C. Richards in Danbury and spoke to (first Atila -- very kind and patient but not from the right department) and then, Justin. Long story short, after a lot of patience and knowledeable information given, I was able to comfortably purchase an LG washer and dryer which would be delivered in two days, installed with my old applicances removed. Bought a GE dryer in July 2024 with the usual warranty and bought the extended warranty for another 8 years. In May 2024, the dryer stopped working and PC Richards sent Bodewell, a GE repair company out to fix it. Of course the technician didn't have the part with him. He said that it would be shipped to our address and that he would come out in June to fix it. The wrong parts were shipped, so he couldn't do anything. In late July/August, he came out and installed the "correct" parts. The dryer broke again. He came back out and told us that it was the vent that was causing the problem and he wouldn't fix it until we got the vent fixed. We had the vent fixed and because the condo is old, we had to replace and update the venting system. We did. The new parts were installed and the dryer broke after 5 cycles. PC Richards and GE/Bodewell refused to replace the dryer despite their expressly stated policy on the warranty (manufacturers and PC RIchards). In September/October it broke again. Technician had to order the part--a thermostat. He couldn't install it until November 22. The dryer broke within hours after we used it once. We called PC Richards and they refused to do anything other than say that a technician would come out December 2. It has been 6 months since the dryer broke, we have had three repairs, now a fourth. We spent over a $1000 cleaning and replacing the vents. Yet, PC Richards/GE/Bodewell refuse to honor their warranties. If you decide to buy something from PC Richards, expect awful service and delays and refusals to honor their warranties. If you buy a GE product or have to deal with Bodewell, expect the same terrible treatment. read more

If I could rate the store no stars, I would. PC Richard's Installer shorted out my new oven by using the wrong plug and store refuses to send a new oven. This is after they sold the oven that I put a deposit on to someone else and I had to wait 2 weeks for them to get another unit. It is less than a week to Christmas and the district manager refused to pick up the damaged oven and authorize a new one for delivery. We spent over 3 hours on the phone with numerous managers and was given the run around. I am trying to figure out how to have a Christmas dinner with family with no working oven. I will be sourcing a new oven at 7am tomorrow. Please do not support this business as they do not honor their sales commitment nor stand behind their installers. read more

So I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised at how awesome the man named Scott is! He was so informative on the stores products, true to his word, and honestly just a pleasure to converse with. Never order from this company. I place a order for a mini fridge. Was told that the night before delivery I would get a email with a 3 hr delivery window. Never got it. Got a email from them at around 9am morning of delivery saying item would not be in stock for 9 days. You're greeted the moment you walk in and ask if they can help. Not like one of their competitors; who, the only way you'll get a sales person's attention is to shoot up a flare. Recently purchased a new home in which we needed a new electric range. Did a quick online search and figured I'd go into the store. Spoke with a gentleman by the name of Charles. Charles helped me narrow down the selections based on my overall wants (double oven) and need (ASAP). We narrowed it down to one which had about a 1-2 week lead time since all the ones in inventory were already spoken for. No big deal, I placed the order and the next day Charles called with good news, there was an extra unit available and that I could get it within 24 hours. I said let's go for it. The delivery team hauled away the old unit and got our new one in without a hitch. They even made sure it was fully leveled and that I was happy with everything before I signed off on anything. Raymond was great to work with very knowledgeable of the product he was excellent in helping me pick out a washing machine that fits my needs. The office girl Sue set up my delivery schedule and everything went off without a hitch. The delivery guy Dave was also great showed up on time and was in and up and running in 10 minutes. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE! I almost never post a negative review but I have to warn others of my experience. This is only regarding the Danbury location I cannot speak for others. I used to buy all appliances loyally and never again as they are clearly going downhill fast. Let me start of with my $1200 Whirlpool drier I bought 4 years ago. It started marking an awful clunking sound so I called to PC Richard warranty to file a claim and they sent out a decent company who informed me a part was needed that was on backorder. After 3 months of going to the laundromat with no calls from them with updates only me calling them to be told the part was on back order and they didn't know when it would be in, they decided to give a credit towards a new machine. Ok great however the credit was only $630 not nearly enough to buy a comparable machine. So then it gets better - we go into the store last Saturday EVERY single employee is glued to their phone, didn't so much as look up. We finally get someone to help and he was so rude with little to no knowledge of any of the driers and seemed extemely inconvenienced by us, on his phone the entire time. We also wanted to look at tvs and refrigerators and same experience. No help, pulling teeth to get simple questions answered and just overall felt like an inconvenience for shopping there - akward!!! All of the appliance displays were DIRTY, like gross - one fridge on the floor display I kid you not had food remnants and mold inside it! Then comes today, we finally get the new drier delivered. The delivery people literally spoke ZERO English, like couldn't even ask for my signature just put the paper infront of me and pointed. They walk in the basement right past me with no communication and start yanking out the broken drier so I left them to it. Again - akward! They finish and give me the papers to sign and leave so I go downstairs excited to finally do a load of laundry at our own house and I smell something awful. I find DOG POOP they tracked all over the basement floor from the doors, across the carpets with a nice clump sitting on the carpet RIGHT INFRONT of the new drier. We now need to scrub all of the floors and carpets and take the new drier out so we can clean off the bottom where they evidently dragged it through dog droppings. A complete nightmare from start to finish. They offered a minor credit for the "inconvenience". Way to loose a loyal customer. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere. read more

I came on Black Friday and at best there were 2 other customers in the refrigerator department. So it was NOT busy. A salesperson comes and asks if we need help and we asked for pricing on refrigerator so he leaves to check..................and never came back. So I see him and he yells at me from afar and I basically knew he didn't want to help us and it was extremely rude. I ask him if he's busy so he yells across the store at another salesman who had absolutely no patience for my elderly mother. His help was forced because he worked there. I get it's Black Friday but there were no customers and there should be a level of respect between people. I went to other stores on Black Friday that were BUSIER by 100% and the sales were still very friendly. This is probably why no one shops here even on Black Friday. read more

I went in to Danbury P.C. Richard to buy a washer dryer combo. I spoke to Charles, I have bought an item from him in the past. He is an excellent salesmans, very nice, and very professional. I went in on July 12th and spoke to Mike who is the manager. He was very nice. I didn't have the information I needed as far as the specs of my current washer and dryer. So he said that he would still give me the discount if i came back the next day with the information, because the sale was up on the 12th. I went back on the 13th spoke with Charles he has to get a manager exception, so he went to speak to the current manager Ray. I waited roughly twenty minutes for Charles to find ray to no avail. I went over and I found Ray myself and he was rude say the least I asked him to help me. He said he had no idea I was waiting even though the Charles had found him and told him he needed him. Ray sent someone over, he couldn't find my credit card information, he said I didn't have an account which I Did. Ray came over and said he couldn't help me, had no idea what was going on. He was obnoxious and rude and extremely unprofessional! I am not saying that because I didn't get my item I'm saying that because it is the absolute truth. I would not buy another item from that store ever except Charles called me to apologize for the behavior of Ray. I did buy my washer dryer. Thank you to Charles for all his help, his professionalism and his kindness. I am giving a five star rating for Charles and Charles alone! I am begging for someone to please retrain Ray as a manager because he lacks professionalism, empathy, kindness, everything that Charles has, Ray lacks. read more

What a great group of people! We bought a refrigerator 4 months ago, that they kindly stored for us while our contractor was delayed. This week, I asked that they now deliver the refrigerator and they told me that they did not have the one we bought...apologetically they asked, "Would it be OK if we substituted the newest model, and also discount it further". Let's see...newer model, lower price, now with smudge-proof stainless steel, all the same features as the previous model...I said,"Sure...I can live with that, it would be fine!" Lol! This place is awesome! Friendly and ready to help (Thanks Charles!). My fridge died and I did some researching on cost and speed to get a new one. PC Richards offered next day and free delivery! No-one in the area (Best Buy, Home Depot, Sears,etc) would come close to that and would take several days to almost 2 weeks based on their sites. PC Richards not only met on the delivery need, but from a price perspective, they rocked there too! My rep Charles didn't try to sell me more than I wanted or needed, which was another big plus for these guys. I am getting a great fridge at a great price. Stopped in this Weekend looking for a new grill. I was ready to buy, I did all my homework and knew exactly what I wanted. The manager Cory came over to see if he could match or beat a competitors price. He spent his time in front of us on his cell phone and completely ignored us. He left before I could ask about the rotisserie, cover, and other accessories I was interested in. I went from ready to buy to bye bye. I walked out and bought it all at the Norwalk store. 45 minutes drive but they took care of me lovely. Also made me feel like they appreciate my business. Something the Danbury store is lacking. I can't give a low enough rating to this store (Danbury, CT) as I have been purchasing my appliances from them for a number of years and was very satisfied with both ends of the cycle - sales and service; however I am beyond frustration in trying to buy and have installed a room air conditioner. They suggested and I agreed to a site survey before going forward. They came, did the survey and we both agreed on a new sleeve to accompany the unit. That was the last time we ever heard from P.C. Richard. No follow up call, text or email of any sort to move the process forward. I went in today to find out why. I finally made contact with my salesman and asked for an explanation. He had to call Don over to resolve the problem. Don checked the computer; oh the survey wasn't filed properly therefore they had to do another survey and maybe install next week. I explained my wife was coming home from the hospital and I couldn't wait. Rather than support the salesman and customer, Don made no attempt to help the situation. I like to shop at a store where I can always deal with the same person. I have followed Brian from the Norwalk store, and will drive a little further because I can go to Brian for anything. I needed to replace an appliance. I saw Brian. I wanted a new mattress; i saw Brian. I wanted ANOTHER Bose Speaker; guess who I saw? The great part about PC Richard is the price. And if I buy it and it goes on sale for less (its happened) I called up and Brian credited me the difference. And that is for the sale side. When I needed service on my aging Dishwasher; I called Brian and he set up a servie call for me. He even was able to tell me what time they were coming out. Im sure there are times when something goes wrong; reading the recommended reviews shows that. But if you read the non-recommended; there certainly is a lot of times when things go right. Maybe I can figure out the secret of Yelp, so Brian can give me money! read more

I can see why they only have three stars. It should be two. They conveniently leave out info like THAT THEY CHARGE TO HAUL AWAY YOUR OLD MATTRESS. When I asked the salesman if they haul away, he said Yes but we charge $12.00 to recycle. In reality, they charge $45 to haul -plus $12 to recycle and that is $57.00. When I called the manager about it, he said "I don't know what you heard but we always tell customers". My partner was with me. He did not hear that amount either. When I said my partner didn't hear $45, the manager said " oh yes he did say it. " The manager wasn't there! . Then he said Goodbye. They stink and I don't know why I gave them another chance because they tried to film flam me when I bought a washing machine two years ago from them. What kind of human being would I be if I didn't wait until the last minute to do something? I was frantically driving all over town looking for the new Super Smash Bros. game for 3DS the day before my flight down to Florida in October and couldn't find it anywhere. Gamestop (all of them in Danbury and even the one in Brewster), Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and even Target were sold out. Not once did I say to myself "Gee, P.C. Richards would probably have it, since all they do is sell video games," which they don't. So my last stop was here before giving up, and there it was, sitting on a gold pedestal as the last copy, probably in the area. This wasn't just about finding a brand new game at a store I barely go to, the customer service I received was top notch. From the second I walked in I was greeted, and the second I walked over to the gaming department I was asked if I needed anything. From there until I left the store, I had a pretty casual conversation with the guy helping me and he discussed everything about the store return policy and whatnot. I wish I had more time to walk around and see the other electronics they had to offer, but I was on a schedule. Great place, I plan on coming back in the near future. read more

Don't buy anything from these stores. Their products are old models no longer being made by the manufacturer and their employees get paid commission so theyll sell you anything. I went in looking for a computer. Willing to spend $1000 dollars or so. Not looking for anything fancy. Just something that will let me play some games and let me do my work on. Talk to a guy. Talks me into this laptop. I know little to nothing about computers. Thought he knew what he was doing. NOPE!! Go home. Try to put in a disc. No disc drive. Wtf. Go back and complain. They give me an external one. Ok. Fine. Go home to load something. The computers specs arnt good enough for it. Try to take it back and they wouldn't. I bought that crap that same day and they wouldn't return this crappy product that didn't do the simplest thing I wanted it to do. They would only give me store credit. If I could give negative review, I would. Their customer service is awful. I have tried calling for two straight days, nothing but a busy signal. Called the store directly, they gave me incorrect information and when I called them back, were completely unhelpful. They then said, if only I'd bought THEIR warranty rather than relying on the manufacturer's warranty.... I said, I expect my appliances to last more than a year, and I expect you to help me when the don't -- I just wanted them to help me get through to service, either their own or the manufacturer. BUYER BEWARE of PC RICHARDS After 8 months and 10 phone calls of trying to get repair service I finally got a repairman in October 2018 for Frigidaire Appliances purchased in February. After repairman was unable to fix new refrigerator and dishwasher, store manager at this store refused to exchange. Said we had to get another repair company or call manufacturer. This was after my wife and I went to store to exchange for more expensive units which we were happy to pay the difference to get something better. Giving up on being satisfied with this purchase. This is my first time ever writing a review but I am so upset and so frustrated that I wanted to warn everyone I can NOT TO EVER SHOP HERE!!!!!!! I have never ever in my life had such a horrible experience and been treated so badly!! I spent $2000 on appliances, the delivery was horrible, the people I spoke to were rude and sarcastic now the glass in the stove shattered and the dishwasher is leaking. I called for service and they said the technician could come repair cause I gave them the model and serial number and when he showed up he was here for 2 minutes and said he had to order the part which I was told was already done when I called. Now the dishwasher is leaking and they want to send another tech out in a few days!!!! I demanded more help and replacement appliances and now they are ignoring me. PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE AND DO NOT EVER EVER SHOP AT THE DANBURY LOCATION OR ANY OTHER LOCATION!!!!!! I had ordered a tv from an online store and they shipped me one that was previously returned and cracked. It was so frustrating with the online issues. I received excellent sales support from Chris and John in P.C. Richard&Son location in Danbury CT. As my previous TV stopped working, I needed to buy a new TV for my home and tried to explore many options within Danbury area. P.C. Richard&Son had far better prices versus the competition, therefore I decided to purchase my TV from there. Initially I spoke to Chris (I believe he is also the store or sales manager). It was really a pleasant experience. I did not feel the regular "pushy" sales-man approach. He was very supportive and trying to help me to make a decision. For my budget, he recommended SONY XBR55X700D, however I didn't want to spend much on an unexpected expense and decided to go for a promotional/cheaper Samsung UN55KU6290 option. Chris helped me a lot with the purchase. Most of all, he was honest about the product. He mentioned why it was priced lower (Mainly due to Motion Blur). I took the TV home and he was right. I was unhappy with the product. I gave it a week however it didn't meet my expectations. Next week on Saturday I visited the store and met with Chris and Richard(Another Sales-man). They were extremely supportive with my request on exchanging the TV with a new one. This time I took my lesson and decided to spend more money for the quality that I want. I went with higher-end Sony TV (XBRX850D) and took it back home. Unfortunately this TV wasn't compatible with my European Computer and also didn't meet my expectations with contrast (Particularly around black colors) and remote usage. As I spent quite a lot of money on it, I didn't want to end up with a product which I am not satisfied with. Having back and forward calls with SONY didn't change the issues that I was having with the TV and I decided to pay another visit to P.C. Richard&Son store to replace it with a better one. This time John and Chris was there to support me. Once again, they were extremely helpful to accept my return and provide the product that I am very happy with. In Summary, I had great experience in P.C. Richard&Son not only because of the fact that the gentlemen that I listed above were very professional and supportive, but also they really cared about what their customer really wants and did their best to meet with my expectations. I am extremely satisfied with their help and definitely recommend this store to everyone. read more
