The store was busy but not overwhelming and there were plenty of employees around to help. I found a shower curtain I loved (I'm so excited just typing that, guess this is life in your 30s) and the display was the only one in stock so a nice staff member got that crazy enormous ladder and took it down for me, priced it ($13.99 from $45!!) and sent me on my way. Pluuuus it was an extra 20% off because of Black Friday! So that's my highlight for the month but the moral of the story is the staff were all great, they kept the lines moving fast, and it was a much more pleasant experience than I anticipated during a busy weekend.

I'm very diligent in making sure I don't mix twigs or branches in the leaf piles and that there is no plastic or garbage mixed in. I have the same workers year after year loading the truck that know to keep free from debris. Well last week I had to unload myself, which I never do as I'm 66 years old, however my workers were unavailable and I needed the truck emptied. While unloading the weeds, mixed with dirt, a Ferris Mulch worker, in his mid forties, came over as I was unloading and found a very small piece of fabric. I said I'm sorry I will sift through and make sure no fabric gets by. Instead of acknowledging my apology he rudely said that's not good enough. He stood there and watched me sift through and before I was even done said started to criticize my efforts. Mind you I'm a senior citizen, probably 20 years his senior. I get the issue, but maybe be a bit more understanding that it was an honest mistake that I was taking full responsibility for and attempting to correct being nothing but sincere and apologetic. There was no need to be rude about it, no matter who, but especially an elder. Where are the days when elders were treated with respect. I would have went to the office to make note of it, however I was to exhausted and over heated to do so at the time. There is a respectful way to address people especially when they are being respectful to you and this Ferris Mulch worker was very disrespectful. Maybe he talks to his kids that way, but he shouldn't talked to customers that way. Which maybe they are forgetting I am a customer and they make money off of what customers bring to them. Will be looking to go elsewhere.

I received a 'care kit' and opted for the 5-year goof-proof warranty and white-glove delivery. The estimated date for delivery was a month away, since this was a new product, but that would be true from many stores. Friendly service, no hard upsell, everything was explained. However, the wait for delivery was longer than expected, which was due to backups in the receiving port (which affected several items I had ordered in the past few months--stupid pandemic). White glove delivery was on time, and quick. On the downside, the Bob's Cafe was closed, but Alysha did make the suggestion that when it reopens, we come back and have a cup of coffee. Here is my recent experience with Bob's Discount Furniture. I spent $1500 for a grey Luxe Power Recliner including the cost for the Goof Proof Plan, etc. Of course, the cheaply constructed chair broke! The mechanism bent and warped so badly it hurt my back. The warped mechanism broke the plastic coupling on the power cord. I was afraid of receiving an electric shock when the wiring snapped. I was worried that this electric chair would provide the actual experience of being electrocuted! This chair is wonderful if you like pain. I reluctantly returned to this terrible store. With the voucher I received from GoofProof, I paid $1447 for a new "Hercules" chair, including the costs for a new GoofProof Plan, delivery, taxes, etc. Bob's Discount Furniture Store never delivered the chair. Recently, I returned to the store to inquire about the delivery of my chair. Stacey, the store manager, told me no Hercules chairs existed anywhere in the world including the one I was staring at in the showroom! I politely asked for a full refund. Stacey refused to issue a full refund or deliver a chair. Then, she abruptly stormed off in a huff. Another meek store salesman approached me. He told me to get out of the store or he would call the police! I left that awful store. I am warning all of you. Do not shop here! You will regret it. My back is still killing me. He delivered less than 14 yards of unscreened fill. Dirt is gray, full of stones ranging from 1"-3" in diameter and GLASS! I pulled well over 100 pieces of glass out of the dirt he delivered. I saved every piece. (picture pending). He knew I was building a yard for my 3-year-old son and STILL SOLD ME GLASS-filled dirt. Carl refuses to do anything about it. Told me to "break the glass with a hammer" that "it's NE." Sure, I expect a few pieces of glass here and there when buying that much dirt but not 100s. Not pieces 3" long, the bottom half of beer bottles, and what looks like a shatter vial. Oh, and there's metal in here too. Like 6" pieces of it and broken pieces of pottery. AVOID CARL and DANBURY TOPSOIL. Save yourself time and money and protect your property.

We had had our gas…read morefireplaces cleaned a few months ago by another company but they said they were unable to replace the pilot light on one fireplace (it was broken). Rusharn took apart the unit and showed me the mess that was left inside the unit that the last company had missed, it was pretty bad. The other company had not disassembled it completely, just did a surface cleaning. Rusharn was lovely to work with, efficient, on time, and so kind with our huge dog. And he charged less to clean and replace the pilot light than the other company did just to clean the unit! I will always use Black Swan form now on. They do get booked up in the winter (because they are so good!) so I made a note in the calendar to have them come out in the summer from now on, when the wait time is less. Highly impressed!
