Four clerks and four customers all glued to their phones. Finally someone looks up. "I need to cancel my service." Idiot clerk gets my details, looks up my account. I look around. Notice there's an old frail guy with a cane struggling on the sidewalk to reach the door. Nobody in the store notices. I run and open the door for him, get thanks. Walk back to the desk. Idiot Clerk hands me a receipt. "There you go. All cancelled." Dead in the water, finito, crushed like a bug. I'm afraid I raised my voice. "No, no, no, no, no, no! Next question, "On what day do you wish to cancel, sir?" I'm in the middle of moving! I'm getting 100 emails a day! And you just killed my Internet dead! I need it canceled NEXT WEEK after I move out!" "Oops." Get the manager. Can you restore it? "Nope. Have to enroll in an entire new plan, pay for new installation and new service..." For a week? JFC, what a bunch of morons. Better they stay glued to their phones than deal with real people in the real world! Oh, and icing on the cake, Xfinity keeps dunning me for two months' service! read more
