I was sold on a service that sounded great- I could…read morecontrol a doorlock from my phone, a camera on the doorbell that would trigger motion and I could see (and speak) through my panel, smoke alarms that were linked to the fire department. If only it actually worked. The phone app only works sporadically (not great when you're trying to let someone in the house remotely, as it was sold to me). The camera only sometimes triggers motion, I often have to open the door to see who it is since my panel image doesn't show up OR, it's stuck on an image from 2 weeks ago. I've never once been able to talk through the speakers. The smoke alarms have malfunctioned (not the battery, they just stopped working and started to go off). I have to call about once a month to have something reset. Each time I call, I even ask "is this normal for customers to have to call this often for malfunctions? I'd like to speak to someone about faulty equipment" and they always say no, not normal, then bypass my request and refuse to transfer me to someone who can actually help. Not only that, most of the reps not very nice to talk to. And since I've had to call A LOT, I have talked with a lot of them. If I can ever manage to get transferred to higher up, they only offer me a partial credit on my account for the lost time of service from their faulty equipment. Which I have NEVER ONCE seen credited. It took 7 emails (which I was told was a valid form of support) over the span of NINE MONTHS to have them actually respond to a question about my contract. This company has horrible support, has refused to acknowledge they put faulty equipment in my house, and have even refused to tell me how much I have left on my contract so I can pay off this shitty service and go with a company that actually works.

When you call for help, you just get transferred around from department to department. It takes ages, and you still don't get anywhere. Don't sign up for service with them!

    I have had nothing but trouble with adt. The latest was my smoke detectors needed new batteries. I…read morechanged batteries and spent 3 full days talking to representatives to stop the chirping from the panel ( after I removed the detectors and took batteries out. Talked to 5 representatives with no resolution. I had virtual appointment set for Thursday morning only to be awoken at 3:30 with panel going off. I talked to virtual representative for 1 hour 17 minutes and was told the detectors needed to be replaced every 5 years at a cost of $308.46. After I paid I looked at the detector that I've had for 4 years and it states on the back replace by 10/2034. Another lie from adt. I have spent hours on ladders fixing the system while adt was on the phone. It is a neighborhood joke how often I was out there fixing their equipment. Shop around before buying into ADT . I'm going to try to get an explanation on the replacement dates on the detectors but I honestly believe that I will not get a honest answer

We have had nothing but issues with equipment...and the installation! Who puts the panel on the middle of a wall? Excuse of having to be right above an outlet! Ummm many other outlets that aren't in the middle of my wall! Then the system decided it was going to arm as away when we were in the middle of dinner! Kept putting in our pass code and it would try and arm again until we opened the front door then had to call! Trouble shooting with them! Rebooted the system and set up for someone to come out to look at it! That was canceled by ADT and rescheduled for Christmas eve. We said we wouldn't be around on Christmas eve. So then we were told we had to pay to have someone come out since we had to cancel that appointment! Like seriously? We have tried and tried to cancel our service and they were going to then decided not to! We paid out right for the equipment and we have disconnected it all! Yet we are still paying for the service we aren't using because they refuse to let us cancel! Ridiculous! Never ever again and never recommending!!

    I had a serious account security incident with Spectrum Business, and the way it was handled was…read moreextremely disappointing. My account experienced unauthorized changes including call forwarding and voicemail alterations, yet there was no clear explanation of how the breach occurred, how long access existed, or what information may have been exposed. What's most concerning is the lack of transparency and urgency. Instead of working collaboratively to investigate and contain the issue, Spectrum ultimately closed the case claiming no fault, while refusing to provide critical records (such as call logs) unless requested through legal channels. These are records that should be readily accessible to the account holder--especially during a security incident. This created unnecessary business disruption and forced me to take independent action, including filing reports with law enforcement and regulatory agencies. For a business service provider, this level of support during a potential breach is unacceptable. I would strongly caution other businesses to evaluate whether this level of risk and response aligns with their needs.

    I would recommend that folks go out of their way to avoid Spectrum. I was with Spectrum for an…read moreincredibly long time and when I decided to cancel my 600Mbs service for $105/month, they said they have a new program that has a 1000Mbs service for $50/month. How long was I paying more than twice as much as I needed to and why didn't they look out for their loyal customer? Forget it. A deceitful company at best.
