My bill is $57.99 a month and I'm old school and like to make my payments with a live rep as I do not trust payment processors, I like my payment being recorded by voice. These con artists charge you $7.50 to make a payment over the phone with a live rep and it is far from convenient, you wait on hold for so long you have to put your phone on speaker and go about your day till you hear a voice talking.. $7.50 is about 13% of my entire monthly payment, WHY?! Not to mention I call to make my payment early every month.. You should be rewarding customers that call in to pay there bills earlier regardless if they have auto pay set up, not charging them more $.. I mean how much money do you guys have? How hard is it to setup a payment processor that's accessible for your CS representatives that allows them to delete a post dated auto payment and accept an early payment without a fee? I know it's only $7.50 and yes I can afford it but it's the principle, I've heard of $2.50-$5 MAX for making payments over the phone but $7.50?! That's like paying $7.50 for Coca Cola but as soon as you paid that for the soda the guy that just sold you that soda smacked it out of your hands before you took a sip cause you paid him too fast.. Stop being bullies Atlantic Broadband.. Another example, When I call the loan servicer that I have my auto loan thru and I call to make my $224 payment they only charge me $2.50 for making my payment over the phone, do you see the difference? Sorry for the rant, it's just that I just hung up with that representative and I feel violated from him telling me I had to pay $7.50 to talk to him.. Needless to say I will be putting my faith in AB's automated system going forward.. It may take you several attempts to get your service hooked up correctly. After 5 visits I simply gave up and accepted the fact it was a subpar company. A while later during another service call it was discovered that the 5 technicians who were all involved in my install missed something. The service regularly cuts out and regularly fails. Even the extra speeds I'm offered for internet crash and are incapable of normal use. I had to put wifi boosters through out the house. That cost money. The cable service always fails. The recording capability is sketchy. There are no public access stations that I could find and the return to the public in the Lakes Region amounts to nothing more than poor service. The politicians gave them exclusive rights and we received the shaft. The best thing I did for my television was switch to Direct TV. I'm stuck with metro cast wifi. I disconnected my phone with them.

Unfortunately, calling them does not help you're talking to someone from El Salvador. They said they shut off the wireless because we weren't supposed to have them. Over that period I had chronic problems and horrible support service. My service was constantly turning off, buffering, or missing either sound or video. Just during regular post dinner viewing hours the service would shut down as much as 5 or 6 times requiring me to unplug and then replug the modem. We bought a new modem thinking that may be the problem but it wasn't. When I called service my average wait time was 20 minutes and then each service agent followed a script which was often unintelligible due to a lack of English language skills. When I finally moved and ended my service I was told that I would need to retrieve the equipment from my roof or be charged $300.00. Hughesnet said they would send someone out but it would cost me $100.00. I'm 57 and getting up on my roof was not an option. After 6 years and nearly $6000.00 spent on service I was charged for removing the equipment. Then I was told that I had to return the equipment myself - the removal technician could not take it. I was told a prepaid box would be sent to me to return the equipment and I had 45 days or I would be charged $300.00. After 2 weeks and no box I called, and then 4 weeks later I called again. No box was EVER sent. I paid for the equipment return myself. This is a scam conducted by HughesNet to squeeze every last dime from you. No box is ever sent in the hope that you will forget to return the equipment. And lastly (yes there is more), even though I ended my service on June 6th, I was charged through June 19th - a full months payment - because that is one of their contract stipulations. My contract ran from the 19th to the 19th so I was charged a full payment. Hughesnet is out to screw people, they don't care about you, your service, or fair treatment. Avoid them at all costs.
