It may take you several attempts to get your service hooked up correctly. After 5 visits I simply gave up and accepted the fact it was a subpar company. A while later during another service call it was discovered that the 5 technicians who were all involved in my install missed something. The service regularly cuts out and regularly fails. Even the extra speeds I'm offered for internet crash and are incapable of normal use. I had to put wifi boosters through out the house. That cost money. The cable service always fails. The recording capability is sketchy. There are no public access stations that I could find and the return to the public in the Lakes Region amounts to nothing more than poor service. The politicians gave them exclusive rights and we received the shaft. The best thing I did for my television was switch to Direct TV. I'm stuck with metro cast wifi. I disconnected my phone with them.

The installer said we had to have 2 televisions on wireless. We have 4 tv's same as the other house. He didn't want to go under manufacturered home here. And they keep trying to sell you stuff while they're here as well. Well one week went by and they shut off our wireless joeys no notice. Had no idea what the problem was. Unfortunately, calling them does not help you're talking to someone from El Salvador. They said they shut off the wireless because we weren't supposed to have them. I really don't know the reason why. I have to tell you I will never deal with them again. It's too bad when you have a problem you have to talk to someone from another country. Still not resolved want us to pay for them to turn it back on for the wireless. Time to move on

And sadly this is true. My parents went back to Xfinity over a year ago and he still sends email with an Agape Media Solutions Recurring Invoice $9.99 I have asked that they be no longer charged but it never ends. I do not believe he is actually collecting the $9.99 because I had them get new Credit Cards. Although I am not sure about this. My concern is that someday he will continue to add up this unpaid charge and try to put a lien on their property even though they have not been a customer for well over a year. I am close to going to the Attorney General to report Elder Fraud. I would stay away from this company or any company this Derek person is related to. Seems like he may have a criminal history regarding voter fraud after a Google Search.

I was in a situation where I didn't…read morehave a choice - Hughesnet was my only option so, unfortunately, I was stuck with them for 6 years. Over that period I had chronic problems and horrible support service. My service was constantly turning off, buffering, or missing either sound or video. Just during regular post dinner viewing hours the service would shut down as much as 5 or 6 times requiring me to unplug and then replug the modem. We bought a new modem thinking that may be the problem but it wasn't. When I called service my average wait time was 20 minutes and then each service agent followed a script which was often unintelligible due to a lack of English language skills. When I finally moved and ended my service I was told that I would need to retrieve the equipment from my roof or be charged $300.00. Hughesnet said they would send someone out but it would cost me $100.00. I'm 57 and getting up on my roof was not an option. After 6 years and nearly $6000.00 spent on service I was charged for removing the equipment. Then I was told that I had to return the equipment myself - the removal technician could not take it. I was told a prepaid box would be sent to me to return the equipment and I had 45 days or I would be charged $300.00. After 2 weeks and no box I called, and then 4 weeks later I called again. No box was EVER sent. I paid for the equipment return myself. This is a scam conducted by HughesNet to squeeze every last dime from you. No box is ever sent in the hope that you will forget to return the equipment. And lastly (yes there is more), even though I ended my service on June 6th, I was charged through June 19th - a full months payment - because that is one of their contract stipulations. My contract ran from the 19th to the 19th so I was charged a full payment. Hughesnet is out to screw people, they don't care about you, your service, or fair treatment. Avoid them at all costs.

I decided to call them to find out why, it was clear that they would rather make you pay a $4.95 payment fee for paying by phone instead of continuing to collect payment the same way they had for all my past bills. I plan to wait for my next payment then pay via check, wasting a stamp, a check (who uses those any more) and time. Change this policy please.
