It is no surprise that Metrocast has a one star rating. They are the worst cable company I have had in America, and I have had cable in about 10 states. It may take you several attempts to get your service hooked up correctly. After 5 visits I simply gave up and accepted the fact it was a subpar company. A while later during another service call it was discovered that the 5 technicians who were all involved in my install missed something. The service regularly cuts out and regularly fails. Even the extra speeds I'm offered for internet crash and are incapable of normal use. I had to put wifi boosters through out the house. That cost money. The cable service always fails. The recording capability is sketchy. There are no public access stations that I could find and the return to the public in the Lakes Region amounts to nothing more than poor service. The politicians gave them exclusive rights and we received the shaft. The best thing I did for my television was switch to Direct TV. I'm stuck with metro cast wifi. Unfortunate that we do not have competition in the Lakes Region for internet service and have to rely on these morons. Internet connection dropping in and out all morning. Called tech support- have been on hold listening to elevator music for over 30 minutes without any live person to speak with about the problem. Have already done all the self-help steps- unplug and restart modem, etc. And these people have the nerve to try to sell you telephone service as well. Can you imagine! read more

service regularly cuts out i got a little behind on my bill but did get it caught up yet it said i was still behind and now for just internet mid grade went for just under $70 per month to $75 for December now somehow it says i owe $220!! and monthly just went up to $125!!!! i have to see if there are any other options if not i might have to suffer without internet for a while I can't afford $125 per month ontop of electric and heat if i could give negative stars i would read more

Atlantic BB has provided mediocre service at best but now that I am trying to cancel my account, they are completely unreachable. Have spend hours trying to reach a residential care representative. I even contacted the corporate headquarters in Quincy, MA. They promised to have someone call me. I called the Town Clerk's office to ask for advice. The very nice woman who answered was unable to help me but volunteered her own experience with them. When she is home on a Saturday she will hold for 3 hours or more for someone to pick up. read more

Just about the worst customer service around. I called to cancel my services and was on hold for 45 minutes straight. I stopped at the actually building in Belmont in person while still on hold, and was able to cancel services before anyone ever picked up the phone. I'm sure I would have spoke to someone real quick had I hit the option to make a payment. read more

I have been on hold for an hour. My handicapped brother moves in to a new senior living and the tv is supposed to be all set. Well of course not and now the waiting game. My brother has to quarantine for 2 weeks. He has a brain injury and only watches tv. I live 45 minutes away so trying to take care of this over the phone is frustrating and seems hopeless. This company is a JOKE! We signed up with MetroCast because it was the only thing available in our area at the time. Thank goodness a competitor was soon up and running. First, their "fast" internet is slow. Like, turtle slow. We paid for one of the fastest services they offer, yet no speed test that we did ever measured up. And trying to work (I work from home) was nearly impossible. If you cancel service with them, prepare for more headaches. They didn't come disconnect for a MONTH after they were supposed to. Now, three months after I canceled, there is suddenly a balance due. (I did not get a bill regarding this balance last month, by the way. This "charge" just suddenly appeared.) Please be very careful if you're doing business with this company. Cover all your bases. Write down the names of everyone you speak with. Note EVERYTHING. If you can, communicate via email so you have written proof of everything they say/do. read more

I have tried to call this company since mid September after they failed to put my cable television account into seasonal disconnect. I can never get anyone to answer several different numbers I have tried. After a while an automated voice comes on and tells me they were unable to connect me and the line disconnects. I sent them a certified letter asking them to cancel my account and they didn't respond to that. Finally I had to contact my credit card company several times to get them to stop payment. I know we're in unusual times but Consolidated has someone answering there phones. If anyone knows the trick to get a human being to answer the phone I'd like to know it. read more

I'd like to give negative stars to ABB. As bad as metrocast was, they answered the phones with an option for a callback number if the wait was long. Trying to disconnect service, I waited on line almost two hours at various times for their version of customer service. When our new home is finished, I'll try anything at any cost not to deal with this overpriced, crappy company. They truly are the Worst company For customer service , ever. Ever since Atlantic broadband took over Comcast (which by the way was never good) I would like to state that there is more and more Spanish and Asian shows which I should have to choice to have them flip a switch to stop all those shows coming up that have automatic closed captions. Your not going to tell me that those shows can't even be dubbed in English. Atlantic Broadband doesn't want to pay for English network shows so now they are going for the cheaper networks. Ever since Atlantic Broadband purchased Metrocast, the service quality has degraded, so much so that I feel that I can't trust anything that they do. All I was trying to do was upgrade my package with Metrocast/Atlantic Broadband. Last week on August 19, one of their service techs arrived to do what should have been a simple porting of our two landlines from Fairpoint Communications to AB and to upgrade our modem to 400. Instead, five hours later, with a purported "supervisor" who knew less than the original tech guy, my wifi system was no longer working properly (it had been fine before these two incompetent AB techs arrived). The next day, another AB tech arrived who I recognized and knew was competent from previous work he had done here. He knew that the two guys the day before were poorly trained, that one was likely not to be working for AB by the end of the month, and he stated that they should not have been setting up a second wifi system in my house (as they did) which then compromised the whole network. I now have had to pay a private commercial company to fix the damage done by AB. In the process, they alerted me to the fact that only one of the two landlines was ported over to AB, although AB had me paying for two. It took 32 minutes of waiting on the line merely to get AB to answer the phone. I doubt that they will pay for the commercial company that I have hired to fix the damage to my wifi system that they did. This company needs to invest in hiring competent technical and customer service people and providing them with adequate training. read more

I can't believe the "Convenience Fee" Atlantic Broadband has the audacity to charge for making a payment with a live representative. My bill is $57.99 a month and I'm old school and like to make my payments with a live rep as I do not trust payment processors, I like my payment being recorded by voice. These con artists charge you $7.50 to make a payment over the phone with a live rep and it is far from convenient, you wait on hold for so long you have to put your phone on speaker and go about your day till you hear a voice talking.. $7.50 is about 13% of my entire monthly payment, WHY?! Not to mention I call to make my payment early every month.. You should be rewarding customers that call in to pay there bills earlier regardless if they have auto pay set up, not charging them more $.. I mean how much money do you guys have? How hard is it to setup a payment processor that's accessible for your CS representatives that allows them to delete a post dated auto payment and accept an early payment without a fee? I know it's only $7.50 and yes I can afford it but it's the principle, I've heard of $2.50-$5 MAX for making payments over the phone but $7.50?! That's like paying $7.50 for Coca Cola but as soon as you paid that for the soda the guy that just sold you that soda smacked it out of your hands before you took a sip cause you paid him too fast.. Stop being bullies Atlantic Broadband.. Another example, When I call the loan servicer that I have my auto loan thru and I call to make my $224 payment they only charge me $2.50 for making my payment over the phone, do you see the difference? Sorry for the rant, it's just that I just hung up with that representative and I feel violated from him telling me I had to pay $7.50 to talk to him.. Needless to say I will be putting my faith in AB's automated system going forward.. We have had considerable difficulty with service this year. Techs have been out to the house 3 times this summer and still not working. This is after waiting at least 45 minutes on hold each time you call. When you turn the TV on, it says no signal. If you fiddle with the cord, it may come on, not this time. We replaced the HDMI cord, still nothing. The other night the rep told us they were working on the lines in the area. Yesterday, the rep said this wasn't the case as we had service in the other rooms. We were told someone would be out yesterday. We waited all day, were told they were going to be late, at 6:30 still a "no show". Manager said they don't do same day service. If we called Tuesday night how is Wednesday same day service? Now it is Thursday, still no cable, and our appointment is at 12:30. We should have been the 8 AM appointment!!!! This is all very frustrating. read more

My roku boxes (3 of them) stopped working on the Atlantic Broadband system on 3/31/2019. They sent a tech to my house. He immediately said that Roku on Atlantic Broadband has a known problem that it will stop working at many locations randomly. He said this has been going on for 4 to 6 months, and that the fix is to get an Amazon firestick instead. He said he had 3 calls on this just today, and proved that Roku was not working. Tech support desk said they can not help. I'm on the phone on hold waiting for the loyalty department. My phone currently says 1 hour 20 minutes, and I'm still on hold. Roku works great on many networks, and worked here until yesterday morning. Netflix will still work, but not Hulu or Amazon Prime. I am wondering if AB is blocking them, even though that is illegal. Oh and don't bother trying to get a reduction in cost until they fix their problem, customer service says they can not help, and the loyalty department will not answer the phone. read more

Metro cast is not only a terrible company with very little service support but they also don't provide any information for television outage. After the Tuesday storm my television and cable service has been out for close to 24 hours and I can't even call their office because it's busy. I suspect they have taken the phones off the hook's. this is the worst. you will spend days on the phone to get thought to anyone. we have had two techs out and have another appointment. our internet does not work for more then a few minutes at a time in out in out. i can't even get it in my bedroom. and this is the fastest internet they offer. we are doing away with the phone and cable they are so expensive. i had metrocast for 36 years. if you are becoming a new customer you can get it for have the price. avoid if you have any other option read more

I am a dissatisfied customer. I live in a location where Metro Cast was the only option without bid dishes hanging off of the property which my landlord won't allow and I don't blame them. I signed up for the 6 month promotional which was extended cable plus Hbo, Starz, Cinemax and Turbo internet which is slow. I did not receive the starz, hbo, and Cinemax. I called them and they said I was not picking it up in my location and they never deducted any money for this issue. I couldn't get anyone to call me back and have cancelled the cable but I have to have internet and I am paying twice as much for a slow internet than any other company would charge. This is a hefty price to pay for not wanting a contract and dishes. Worst service ever. read more

The fees are outrageous and the customer service is non-existent since my service went out around 8 p.m. last night and have not been able to reach them via phone, and had no reply to an email.
