Instead the owner, Dave, actually spent around 15 minutes on the phone talking me through what the issues could be and giving me solid advice with no expectations of anything in return. I've worked with Dave at Hampton Computer for 20 years.... Dave has always done a fantastic job! He is the only TRUSTED IT professional that we work with. Not only does he work on our personal computers but he also works on our company server and associated computers. We had worked with another company, and had been grossly overcharged.. been lied to. Dave has always been straight forward with what needs to be done, at a reasonable cost. He has always been upfront about costs involved. On countless occasions he has saved us from having to get new laptops or desktops. Regarding some of the negative comments here. Dave doesn't Whine, (that's pretty laughable).... and it's hard to believe that he charges for work that he doesn't' do. The man is as honest as they come, and is more than capable... I had to bring it to capable computer service company to get the work done. This guy who claimed to be from Harvard University. STAY AWAY. If I could give zero stars, I would. After making an appointment and going over computer issues on the phone including making a backup, David did none of the above. He did not have the proper adapter and whined about needing to go to Staples to get one. This is an adapter that should be held by any reputable computer repair person. I am from Silicon Valley and this guy is not competent. He did not do a backup as asked on my F drive. Ooops, he backed up the .pst files onto the C drive. What good is that if the hard drive/mother board fails? It is not a backup that would easily be able to be reinstated. I caught that he had not put the .pst files. Worse, the guy has messed up what worked on Outlook. My Sent email now goes to Spam! He wanted $125. I am glad I did not pay him. I don't know who to go to in this corridor of Newburyport but I am leaving the area so I don't care. But do yourself a favor, find someone else. David talks in circles. A friend dropped off the computers and David told him the computers and a printer were "shit." His words not mine. These are fine products. It is David who does not know how to repair so he criticizes people's equipment perhaps to get them to buy his stuff through a distributor which would be a source of income. It is simply wrong. Addendum 2.4.19: An IT specialist who fixes computers came today and in two hours, fixed all the problems that David said were unfixable or huge problems.
