It just needs to be fixed, one way or another. The "cilantro rice" has changed. It's not cilantro rice, it is seasoned with chicken stock *I think* I appreciate the grilled veggies. I'm surprised that the grilled brussel sprouts in the veggie mix are freakin' delish! The combo bowl is still my go to. It has a good amount of protein and the salad + grilled veggies are not an afterthought. A solid value at $15.49. enough for 2 small meals or 1 hearty meal. We have been eating a Mediterranean diet at home; after a hike we saw Xerxes Mediterranean Grill on Yelp. We had the platter dinners one chicken the other beef. Amazing food experience, very tasty with organic Greek salad, Tzatziki sauce and grilled vegetables. The atmosphere is very clean and casual, the staff were friendly and took time to listen to our questions. Saw many folks stop by for takeouts. We definitely will make this a favorite. Fantastic fresh food and excellent customer service will bring us back again on our next visit to Ashland! I had an hour for lunch and didn't know where to go, so I started driving, and then I remembered that Xerxes was nearby. My phone wasn't working with the map so I just drove and luckily not a lot of traffic so I drove slowly down Siskiyou...and then I saw it! There is street parking and a few spaces in the back. Not only is Xerxes a grill but a small market for Greek products too. At first I was going to order the wrap, but I asked about the plate and I think the owner told me it came with rice, salad, naan bread, and more meat...SOLD! I didn't have to wait long which was good since I only had an hour. Very generous portion of the gyros meat. The rice was really flavorful! Some places, it's just basmati rice with little flavor, There was also some sauteed onions which were good! There wasn't any dressing on the salad, but I think the idea was to but the vegetables in the naan along with the gyros. What I really liked was the generous portion of tzatziki sauce! Most places give you a dinky cup and charge extra for more but this was a really nice surprise because I love tzatziki, and there's never enough! I also loved the grilled tomato and chili pepper. I ate the whole thing cause I'm a fatty! Can't wait to come back next year when I'm in school again, so I can try some of the other items. read more

I didn't think I would be posting about this restaurant so I didn't take photos of the food. We stopped here for lunch on our way to Eugene. We got the chicken bowl, chicken platter, and gyro platter. The food was really fresh and well seasoned. What I like was that they had roasted carrots, Brussel sprouts and roasted peppers. They treated the vegetables with respect and it came through in the flavor. The tzatziki was thick and creamy. If you want delicious, healthy food then stop at Xerxes. Here is a picture of my plate. I mean... it's ok. Maybe I have high expectations of Greek food...They forgot the feta and olives on my Greek salad but quickly replaced when I asked. Seems to me like a supreme Greek salad should come with pita. It's weird to serve naan (Indian) at a Mediterranean restaurant. I got the side of garlic naan (3.50) and it was a decent portion. The naan is Premade in bags and then heated up to order so not the fresh fluffy pita you'd hope for with Greek food, but kind of hard. (Maybe they're heating in microwave?) I also think it's kind of weird to serve Greek salad with tabbouleh...I'm glad I got it on the side because it wasn't that great. The dressing was nice. Service was sweet. Chicken on the salad was cooked properly and had good flavor. Also, and I know this is nit picky but maybe the owners will read this... your plastic cutlery is too short and there's no metal flatware option so your for ed to eat with kid sized utensils. There's not a lot of other Greek options in Ashland, Medford or GP so I was hoping this would be good, but I doubt I'll be back anytime soon. read more

This was my first time stopping by here as I was passing through Ashland and I will definitely be coming back. The workers were so nice and you could see that they cared about the food. The combo bowl was a perfect meal with rice and a ton of grilled veggies and even more meat. Im not sure how they fit all of that in to one bowl. Delicious, big portions, fresh, great service! We stopped here on a road trip. The area was beautiful with the fall trees. The chef and waitress were so nice and accommodating! I can't do onions and they tried as best they could to eliminate them from my meal. Some stuff got on in the scoop of veggies but it was easy enough to scoop them off. The salad was huge- I couldnt finish it. But man, I wanted to because it was so good! The wrap kept my husband full for hours as it was also huge. Everything had such god flavor. I also had a Turkish tea. It was hot, floral and tasty. So glad we find this gem! Some of the best roadtrip food we could have asked for. read more

We were so excited to try Xerxes; we were dying for a good gyro and didn't feel like going to Falafel Republic, again (which isn't that amazing). We ordered to go and the guy said it would be done in 5. We arrived 15 minutes later. Restaurant was clean, guy was super nice and the food was ready to go. To our disappointment, the gyro meat was dry and flavorless, the falafel in the falafel appetizer was super dry and burnt- looking, and the Greek fries were soggy and just had feta on it (nothing extraordinary). The best part was the baklava. So glad we decided on a dessert! The hot sauce was also very tasty. Feel so bad reviewing this restaurant as three stars as the guy was so cool and friendly. But ultimately the food was not up to par. So bummed. read more
