    Falafel special
    Amanda M.

We went after the Ashland Mountain Challenge race and they had a bowl special. I had the falafel and it was crispy on the outside, and nice and green on the inside. The flavors were great and the pita nice and soft. The service was helpful and it was quick at the counter.

Eggplant Bowl with Pickled Cabbage, Beets, and Moroccan Carrot Salad.

Very friendly staff took our orders at the counter. First the main dish, and then (for what we ordered) the side dishes. We both had bowls, which come with 3 sides. I had an Eggplant Bowl. The eggplant looked pretty oily (as eggplant often does), but it didn't taste it at all. The eggplant were delightful, on a bed of lentils and turmeric ginger rice. I loved all 3 of the sides I got: Pickled Cabbage, Beets, and Moroccan Carrot Salad. It's hard to pick a favorite, they were all so delicious and different. I asked for the Tahini on the side, rather than drizzled on everything as they normally do. My husband had a Falafel Bowl. The falafels were a nice golden brown on the outside, and a deep green on the inside. Even though deep fried, they didn't seem greasy at all. I ate one, and it was one of the best falafels I've had. For sides he also had the Pickled Cabbage, along with the Israeli Salad, and Harrisa Cauliflower. He found the Israeli Salad pretty blah (not much flavor, so I ate most of it, and thought it was fine). He thought the Cauliflower had more, interesting spices, but his favorite was definitely the Pickled Cabbage. Both bowls were made so that you can't really see the rice and lentil bed until you eat some of the stuff on the top. That's why I included a photo after my husband ate some of his falafels. Friendly, fast service, and super delicious and uncommon (for me) food makes a great experience.

Worst falafel and pita I've ever had. It seemed like it was made by someone who has only ever seen photos of this cuisine.

Food is yummy and consistent. Best fries in town. Atmosphere leaves much to be desired.

Worst ventilated restaurant in Ashland. Get it to-go or proceed home and take a shower.

Ordering is done at the counter and then they bring it out to you when ready. We ordered two cheeseburgers with bacon and pepper jack, a breakfast burrito and cris cut fries. The burgers had well toasted (crispy!) buns and were loaded with veggies- delicious and much needed after 6 hours in the car. My step little loved her breakfast burrito- it was huge! We will hopefully be stopping by here again for lunch on our way home.

Since I only had time for about one meal in Ashland, and there are so many interesting sounding places, it was hard to pick one. I chose Ruby's because there is a diner by the same name that I love in Santa Barbara. Also, the menu looked decent on Yelp. The chipotle chicken sandwich featured marinated dark chicken meat topped with fresh tomatoes, red onions, and coleslaw. The flavor of the chicken and the coleslaw was so bomb, and complemented each other perfectly. The bread was kind of like a small French roll. Very soft, fresh, and tasty. It didn't come with any sides, but the price was reasonable, and just the sandwich was enough for me. The inside of the restaurant was very small and cozy. I had planned to go outside when my food came up, but I was so hungry, and it looked so good, I ended up devouring it right there. I barely even had time to snap a pic of half of my sandwich at the "Forever Alone" booth where I was sitting. Staff was friendly and the ambiance was quirky but cute. As a plus, this is a great area to just walk around and explore all the local stores and scenery for a few hours or so. Would def stop by here again if there weren't a million other great sounding places to explore within a quarter-mile radius.

One employee was the only one apparently working but she kept disappearing through the swing door while my 'food' cooked - if that's what you call being cooked. She had, like, 2" long fake black eyelashes on gooped with so much black crap that I was surprised they stayed on her eyelids - and she was wearing the most inappropriately tight yoga. pants that were past the point of crack invasive! They left nothing to the imagination and were gross beyond the definition of embarrassing. On to the $8.50 garbage she prepared - basically and ounce of chicken, a piece of McDonalds-thin bacon, a tiny bit of mozarella cheese, a flour tortilla (apparently a 'pita'), and a squirt of ranch dressing. I took two bites to get the ounce and a quarter of chicken and bacon and threw what little was left away. $8.50 for what??? Never again, not at any Pita Pit in and location forever. And this was my very first and only visit. This chain is the next one to fail and this location would be better torn down. Disgusting, dirty, overpriced and hopefully a forgettable experience!

Then why make the meal? Don't worry I got a $3 credit for the $15 dollar meal. Yes this is horseshit. I will never go back to Pita Pit again and I encourage all not to go either. Customer service is becoming a top priority in my life and there is none here. Enter at your own risk.
