Behold- the magical gyro I've been craving since Happy Falafel perished!
    Kira H.

I gotta quote The Police on this with a little twist: every little thing HE does is magic! I'm down at the Thursday Growers & Crafters Market at Hawthorne park &, after all the years I've been coming for the fare, I'd never had his gyros! Tragic, really, so I'm remedying that today! Let me say this- you want a quality gyro, there's no better place in the valley (though I've never been to Abu's in GP). The meat is truly hearty, the tomato sauce is spicy & unique- compared to others of 'gyros past' that used tomato slices or chunks- & the vinegary bite in both slaw & pepperoncini add the perfect balance with the tatziki-dusted greens on top. And the flatbread surrounding everything is a perfect consistency- not too tough, not too soft, & just a little crispy. Because it was drizzly & a little cold out, I also got a cup of their hot red lentil soup- what a treat THIS baby is! The veggies & lentils are perfectly tender, the the spices are uniquely satisfying- which says something when it's predominantly fennel/anise- & the added slaw & tomato sauce on top give another depth of balance to the dish. Overall, a satisfactory & sweetly savory meal- that will certainly fill you up- for $10! I'm thrilled we still have one gyro place in town & would highly encourage looking these guys up!

Not sure why this place hasn't been added on Yelp yet, but I'll be happy to write the first review... Not a whole lot to choose from when it comes to getting a decent gyro in So. Oregon (exception is Abu's deli in Grants Pass)... After hearing rumors I was happy to find the Sultan's Delight food cart in Talent (they do move around a little bit in the RV though)... First let me get the negative outta the way... They normally accept credit/debit cards however they didn't have their card reader when I stopped by... It was a little frustrating driving over to Talent, just to be denied lol... Instead I jammed over to the local grocery store to get some cash, as I was determined to get a gyro at this point... Let's get to the good stuff... I had the regular gyro (beef & lamb mix) and an order of dolma's... It was legit Turkish or middle eastern good stuff! The pita seemed to be homemade or at the very least a great quality... The meat was seasoned appropiatley and had enough of it according to the size of the "sandwich"... The tzaziki sauce and hot sauce(?) were good and the lettuce was fresh... The dolmas had good grape leaves and were stuffed with seasoned rice, pine nuts, onions and currants (similar to raisins)... The prices were maybe a touch high, but it was worth it for a pretty authentic gyro! Word to the wise, if you dig gyros, kabobs, dolmas and other delicious like items, I suggest you give Sultan's Delight a try! ***Eat Local***

To my knowledge since Happy Falafel in Ashland closed, Sultan's Delight is the only place to get a gyro locally.

Here I believe it's of love and passion for their business plus the high quality of ingredients used. The menu alone is well thought out. They have their top specialties, half or whole sandwiches, tots, fries, soups and if that doesn't make your mouth water you can create your own cheese melt or customize yours with add ons. I opted for my standard go to, grilled cheese with tomatoes and my side was fries. Can I tell you that this makes my mouth water reflecting on how crispy the bread, gooey the cheese, french fries dipped in the special sauce (yum), not to mention the grilled cheese chip which was first to go. An absolute go to if you're in the area.

Personally I had never heard of them, but she told me that they're know to make gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and that's when I knew we had to stop by. My coworker ordered the standard with a side of tots and a drink. I ended up asking the nice lady at the counter what she recommend for someone who was allergic to pork and was told about their turkey melt which is like the standard, but has a garlic mayo, grilled onions and mushrooms, and oven roasted turkey (my mouth is watering again) and I topped it off with a side of tots and melted cheese. As you can see from my picture we're lucky I was even able to remember to snap one before I devoured the whole thing. I do have a question about this food truck. I had asked if they were open on weekends and was told that they in fact were, but I can't seem to find their hours/location for Saturday and Sunday. Does anyone know?

It was good, the spam slice was a bit thin and it was in the middle of the rice cube instead of on top but the taste, there was a light teriyaki sauce, was excellent. Only one type of musubi is available. Ideally, it should have a pickled turnip next to the meat, but many places skip that. Musubi can be made with chicken and/or egg instead of spam and in Japan, salmon is most often used. Cute server, but of course that's not relevant.

Didn't really enjoy pulling this long hair out of my mouth like a fish line from the ocean to see what I've caught. Now granted this is unavoidable as I have worked in the food and service industry for most of my life and know it happens. What made me write this review is the fact that the people who handled my food were not wearing hats, hairnets or having their hair pulled up above the neck and ears which is a OR health code violation. I know that it could have been the end of their night, and they were done nearly done with their shifts or whatever, BUT rules are rules for a reason. Good luck with your business and if you can take anything away from this review: please put your hair up while on the clock. Cheers,
