Great food, the chicken Satay is a favorite. We have tried almost everything on the menu and it's all good.

I ordered the smorgasbord and the crunch was perfect, it was all really flavorful, and the fries amd mac salad are amazing. We also got the burger basket, it was equally as flavorful and the bun was so soft. So much food, at such a great price, and nowhere else is the Rogue Valley will you find fried chicken like this. Well, folks, I finally stopped at Freddie Lee's Seafood and Smorgasbord! I'm so glad I did. I met Freddie Dunbar and I asked him what everyone loves, so he made me shrimp! I got the five piece, and it came with a pile of amazingly seasoned fries and some homemade Cole slaw. He also gave me some hot sauce (it's like he knew me!) and his homemade dipping sauce. Oh man, all of it was so delicious! While nothing NEEDED to be dipped, the sauce was too good not to be used. I saw a fish sandwich on his page and it looks MOUTH WATERING. And you best believe I'm coming back to try that chicken. (As you can see I've been back for the chicken) Here's another experience of mine at Freddie's- Oh man. Freddie has spoiled me! I'll never eat at KFC again. You could seriously sell the skin off this chicken for loads of money! The flavor is amazing! The chicken was so tender and juicy, I didn't even use sauce! The coleslaw always hits the spot, but there's something about the mac salad that has me hooked. It's almost like he mixes the cooked egg yolks in. So delicious! Thanks for the fuel for the rest of the day Freddie Lee's Seafood Smorgasbord!

Since it was early enough I also had the small happy hour Brussel Spouts appetizer. I adore their Spouts & have had them the last 4-5 times. Yum. The steak was perfection. The sautéed vegetables were good. The whipped garlic potatoes were too salty for me. Unfortunately, I love a good fried oyster & these were only OK. They seemed not to been drained enough. There was quite a bit of oil on my plate headed towards my steak. The cracker meal breading (not my fave) was falling off left & right. Of the 3 oysters only one came close to my idea. Of the other - 1 so rubbery I had to spit it out and the other melted on my tongue so fast I wasn't sure there had been an oysters under the coating. Outside of the oysters I will continue to patronize Omar's because they're usually the best and have been here longer than I've been coming to Ashland (1985). We were at Omar's for dinner with a group of six friends on Wednesday at 6:30, and several of us wanted to order the crab special, but it was already so popular it had sold out. We all enjoyed the alternate seafood items we ordered (3 orders of breaded and baked snapper and Manila Clams), but the soft shell crab meunière was still on my mind... My husband and I had to try it, so we made an earlier reservation (5:30pm) on Friday night to see if we could snag the crab meunière. The restaurant was already getting fairly busy. Our server was so kind and our put in our dinner order right away. We were able to get the last crab dish. It was phenomenal! Buttery and delicious. We were so glad we came back twice this week. This time for Friday date night. It was a perfect experience. Classic old-school nice restaurant vibe with tasty well-prepared food, red leather booths, and friendly people. We ordered: -Soft shell crab meunière dinner special: 5 stars! (Honestly, I would give it 100 stars!) Go there and get this while they have it! -Fresh steamed Manila clams appetizer: 5 stars (I often order this appetizer as my entree and then get a side salad. They are so fresh and tasty. They're steamed in white wine, garlic, cream, and fresh herbs. Love this so much! Save some bread to dunk in the broth. -Brussels sprouts appetizer: 5 stars (prepared perfectly, crispy on the outside with balsamic vinegar and salt) -Butternut Squash ravioli appetizer: 5 stars (Cooked in brown butter. These are yummy!) -Maple walnut Manhattan: 5 stars (balanced, boozy, and not overly sweet) -Rogue Valley Trium ganache rosé: 5 stars, paired well with the clams and Crab My husband and I love Omar's. We've dined there many times, alone and with friends and family over the years. I appreciated that they have a mix of seafood options. Those are generally what we order since we're pescatarians. Another one of our favorite go-to options is Omar's panko fried Pacific oysters entree. (5 stars)

This place reminds me of the fish houses in Reedsport, minus the salt air and seagulls. Servers were patient as we perused the extensive menu, and attentive after we ordered. The bar had more ambience than the main room with rows of white tables. Trying to avoid bibs and a brown meal, I opted to try both the cod and shrimp tacos. Note to self: ask chef to skip finishing salt, as I had more than my usual 'restaurant water weight' the next day. The extra-thick napkins -as every woman knows-are worth keeping in purse or car if you aren't a particularly messy diner. {can I buy some?} I'd read about the marinara (East Coast style) as shellfish sauce; my partner thought it was ok, while I would have preferred the traditional cioppino broth or the white wine scampi broth that my sister raved about. Her mussels really should have included bread instead of just a spoon so as not to waste that broth. In a second visit, appetizers (including the won ton poke tacos) and a beer left no room for dessert. My partner spent his GC on 4 2# Dungeness Crab, which were cleaning thoroughly and steamed to perfection- Great feasting to start the new year. Will definitely check out the patio when warmer weather returns.

They were not they were made out of canned crab that not only could you tell came out of a crab. It was rotten. It smelled fishy, and the crabcakes didn't stick together like it was more like they shaped crab in a crabcake form, but it was not cooked nor was it good you could smell how rotten it was when it came to the table, we did not eat one bite of it. In fact, we sent it back because it wasn't good. Only to find that they left it on our bill actually expected us to pay for rotten crab after sending it back to the kitchen. While we sent a drink back that was wrong. The drink was more of a personal preference. It was too sweet and so that was on the bill. I guess that could be understandable to charge us for. But to charge us for rotten crab that you sent to our table and not even come out and apologize for it try to give us to pay for it was absolutely disgusting. If you walk down to the bathroom and you see how filthy the floor is, you can only imagine what the kitchen is like. I would not recommend this place to anyone nor will we ever go back.

It came out fairly quickly and was delivered by the robot as well as the woman who took my order. First of all the pancakes were the best I have ever seen at any Asian restaurant ever!!!! they were hot, thin, delicate, but strong and tasted great. The Moo Shu mixture itself was fine; however, no sauce was provided. I've never had that experience. Always before either plum sauce or hoisin sauce has been provided and it makes the dish wonderful. I would've asked for hoisin sauce, but I never saw my server again. She never came back to check on me until it was time to pay the bill. I am going to go back and give it another try but this time when I placed my order, I am going to specify that I would like hoisin sauce. If I were going to recommend any improvement for this restaurant, it would be that the server is more friendly and checks in on you a few minutes after serving you to ask if you need anything else so that you can fully enjoy your meal.

We showed up at 5 and were greeted by the same fabulous woman as last time. You just know that someone that kind and welcoming would not own a place she wasn't rightfully proud of. She sets the tone and all the employees carry it through the entire meal. We chose to try the patio tonight and it was cozy yet open, darker with a couple of fire lights around the room. Intimate. Some of the tables are separated by live plants in planter boxes. We loved it. We started with the beets (with shaved fennel pieces and a citrus vinaigrette with a tahini yogurt sauce on the bottom) and burrata (with grilled pieces of bread and sugar snap peas and capers) appetizers - both were delicious. Randy wanted to try another of their off menu drinks. We can't remember what this drink is called but it's not on the menu and has some Mai tai mix and orange bitters ... like a mock Mai tai spritzer. Delicious - Randy had two! I got the mushroom bolognese - so good. It's home made (!) bucatini pasta with a mushroom (cremini, oyster and shiitake) and san Marzano tomato sauce with burrata on top. I love mushrooms but Randy does not and he loved this dish. The mushrooms taste meaty. Randy ordered the Carbonara again and it was also delicious. We also got an order of garlic bread this time and wow. We each have half of our dinners left, lucky us. We shared the creme brûlée which came with a lavender short bread cookie. Perfect. Everything was perfect. The place was packed and all employees were calm and efficient and friendly. Can't wait to go back!
