I was shocked at the way the three women at "xcellent" pharmacy treated me. First, the woman working there did not want to enter a WeRx app discount number into the system because she stated that she was unfamiliar with the program and said the pharmacy did not participate. Second, when she finally did enter the codes into the system and found out that a discount did apply, she stated that she needed a print out of the electronic discount voucher that I showed her to move forward. When I said that was no problem that I could email or fax it to them from my mobile device, she then yet another hurdle and stated that I also needed "a special card from my doctor".
1. If she was allegedly unfamiliar with the program and the pharmacy didn't participate, how did she know so much about the process?
2. I've used the discount voucher before at major pharmacy retail chains and have never encountered such problems.
I feel like the pharmacy staff was trying to embarrass me in front of other customers and they succeeded; I was utterly embarrassed. I feel as though they were trying their best to squeeze an extra 15$ out of me and two of the staff went so far as to tell me to leave and go to another pharmacy. For the avoidance of doubt, I was pleasant and professional during the entire humiliating process that they put me through.
Of note, even if the business did not honor the discount, I would not be writing this review nor would I have given the business such a poor rating had the staff been cordial and professional towards me in my assessment. I truly felt discriminated against by the staff for having presented a discount voucher - like I was a social reject that didn't deserve respect. For the record, I am a working professional with a terminal degree and "real" health insurance; however, my prescription plan does not cover this particular medicine and if I am able to obtain the medicine at a reduced price, why not? read more
