I was really excited about the menu options but was let down! We ordered the Pho and the pork banh mi. Both were like take a bite of a salt bomb. The meat in the pho was limited and the broth was flavorless except for the overload of salt. I asked for extra limes to help cut the saltiness but they would only give me one extra lime slice. The veggies on the banh mi were great but the pork was overly salty. Half way through the sandwich we had to take the meat off...just couldn't do it! Don't think I'll be going there again. read more

This was despicable! The egg rolls were the only edible item and they were mediocre at best. The beef tastes like it came from a can of meat chunk gravy and don't get the house special sandwich unless you're looking for mystery meat slices. Iced Vietnamese coffee was warm and watery. Don't suggest anyone go here Overall I'd rather eat shit out of the cat box read more

Shocking that this place was more of a self-service for pho! You get there, you order at the counter, they give you your drink cups, and then you seat yourself down. The pho broth was ok but the pho size was not reasonable for the price as you can find better pho size for the price. I rated a three star because there sandwiches was pretty good. read more

The house special sandwiches are wonderful. The bread is nice, fresh and crispy and the veggies were crisp and fresh. The boba tea is delicious only thing is that the tapioca is too big for the straw! I will be returning here for all my Viet food needs. read more

I tried the number one combination. The bread was perfectly crusty the flavors and textures were right on. There vegetables were fresh. Very friendly service. Happy to have stopped in. read more

My new favorite spot for lunch downtown! I work west of the river, and there aren't too many good lunch options around there. Xankia is such a welcome addition to the area. The food is fresh, delicious, and inexpensive, and the staff is very friendly. I am a vegetarian, and I love both the noodle dish and the bahn mi sandwich with fried tofu. So delicious! My coworkers love the meat and chicken versions too. I've quickly become a regular. read more

Found on Yelp. Very happy with decision to pick this place out! I ordered the shrimp Pho and asked the very friendly young guy at the register which sandwich I should order having never eaten here. He recommend the pork and it was great. The pho was also excellent. Service prompt and friendly, prices great for the sized portions received, and clean! Great experience. read more

Excellent! We had a grilled pork sandwich as a snack along with some stellar bubble tea, best Vietnamese we've had in a while...

Sorry to write this, but their food, especially pho, was the worst pho i've ever had.. Everyone I ate with agreed. I have no idea how this restaurant received so many good reviews. read more

I got the meatball sub and wow that was straight up the worst thing I've ever put in my mouth

The pork bang mi was delicious. If I weren't just a visitor, I'd become their number one customer.

Worst Vietnamese food I've ever had. Pho had no flavor I had to add a ton of siracha to make it taste like something. The pork spring rolls had no pork and the boba tea was the worst I've ever had. It tasted fake and processed the tapioca was hard I couldn't even choke it down. The portions where tiny (only 2 spring rolls per order) and the pho was only big enough for 2 small bowls. $28 later and my husband and I are still hungry....Maybe the bahn mi is ok but I will NOT be going back to find out. read more

Absolutely love this place! Food is cooked fresh and staff is super nice. My favorite things to get are the grilled pork bah mi and a lychee bubble tea! Although it is hidden, it's a wonderful place to grab some quick lunch. read more

I ordered from Xanxia twice through Grubhub this week. My first order consisted of the Shrimp Spring Rolls and 2 orders of the Pho Beef. While I find the food super delicious, I was disappointed to see how little amount of Pho is to an order. For $8.50, I got 1/2 container full of broth, a small baggie of noodles, beansprouts, and basil, and may be 4 thin slices of beef in the soup. I would only reorder the Pho if they would at least give me more broth (3/4 full may be). My second order, I opted for the Banh Mi sandwiches combo which came with fresh spring rolls. My grilled beef Banh Mi was super delicious. The bun was soft and moist, and the meat was flavorful. The sandwich was also big as well. I could only eat 1/2 the sandwich and one of the 2 rolls. I would definitely reorder their Banh Mi sandwiches again. read more

I'm not downtown a lot but the other week I randomly saw this place and decided to give it a look. Wow! The fried tofu Banh Mi was amazing. I've had many Banh Mi sandwiches in my life but this was by far the best. When I come downtown, this restaurant is gonna be a mandatory stop. read more

Very fresh veggies and bread! Great for a quick lunch! The service was fast and there were quite a few people there when our party stopped by. The egg rolls were very fresh and hot. I had the chicken combo. read more

Was in the mood for Boba tea, and this was the closest. First of all customer service was alright, but the wait was about 20 minutes for just 2 drinks one Avocado and a Coconut/Coffee. The wait didn't actually bother me, but for the wait it wasn't worth it. The Avocado had a watery cucumber taste and so did the Coconut. Could've been better. read more

The cashier was really friendly. The food was fresh and the place was clean. The Thai iced tea boba smoothie was good and is a hard thing to find in Milwaukee. We'll be back! read more

Very good steak sandwich, full of flavor. The eggrolls were good too, crisp and flavorful. The prices are very good for what you get. I will definitely be back here, especially being just 4 blocks from my office. read more

Excellent bahn mi sandwiches. Best in town, go nowhere else. The bread is perfect and just as it should be, crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The meat to veggie ratio is just right. Had other bahn mi sandwiches around town and they've either missed the recipe, skimped on the meat, or just got it plain wrong with the mayo. This sandwich is also huge! Very affordable $5.75-$8ish depending on which sandwich/lunch combo you get. Not a rip off like other restaurants or bahn mi wannabes who will charge $8-$14 for one smaller than this. I'm jaded when it comes to pricing as I've been spoiled by the banh mi sandwich shops in Chicago where they only go $4-$5/sandwich. read more

Best Banh Mi in the Midwest. Cannot beat this place as far as true Vietnamese recipe and flavor. The meat buns are great- the Vietnamese Iced Coffee here is ridiculous. Only complaint is that they aren't open for longer hours. read more

Excellent bahn mi! Perfectly combination of crunchy, warm, soft, tangy and fresh. I'll be in often for lunch! Also, it's very cheap.

Excellent Vietnamese storefront restaurant. I had a very good chicken banh mi. It was very flavorful. Their spring rolls were also very good. My wife had the tofu and noodles dinner, which she said was top notch. The service was fast and friendly. Hopefully, they will thrive in their new location. read more

Had the steak Bahn Mi. Excellent!! Meat was tender, bread was fresh, veggies were crisp. Have to get back and try the Pho.

All the food is simply outstanding. This was my first time eating a Vietnamese sandwich and, WOW! Also, the soup was very very delicious. The man working (he came off as the owner) was a very nice and friendly man. You can tell he was dedicated and committed to putting customers first, which is huge in my book. Will be a returning customer! read more

Xankia is great. The banh mi sandwiches are fantastic and the pho is very, very good. I try to grab lunch here a couple of times a month. As a bonus, there is often meter parking available on the same block. read more

What a great surprise to find Bahn Mi right near home. What a better surprise to find this little gem has some of the best sandwiches, and for so cheap! Great pho and pork bun also. read more

Awesome Banh Mi sandwich. Got mine to go so I'm not sure how the done-in experience is, but the server was friendly, the sandwich was dank af and the price was solid. Come here. Eat good food. Do it. read more

Mouthwatering Bahn Mi sandwiches you dream about between visits. Vegetarians are well served with not one but two delicious vegetarian sandwiches (bahn mi with tofu and bahn mi with rice noodles and sweet potato shreds), and vegetarian egg rolls! Crispy bread, fresh ingredients, and you can bam it up with jalapenos and sriracha for a spicy fix. read more

Small menu but they have a good variety of sandwiches (banh mi) and pho to name. The banh mi was flavorful and delicious. One note, they don't sell pho on Monday. Definitely going to be back! read more

Xankia has delicious, affordably priced banh mi, pho and egg rolls that I highly recommend. Ive eaten here more than 20 times, and the couple that runs this business are diligent and always friendly and swift. I can easily order and eat lunch during peak weekday lunch hours in 30 min or less. They provide fresh, flavorful, reliably fast food that ranks up there with Chicago Argyle's Ba Le sandwiches and Tank Noodle. The vegetarian rice noodle banh mi is my favorite. My friend loves the meatball one. Their pho is all beef (no veg based pho). Every savory item on their humble menu has been perfected! read more

Best Vietnamese sandwich I've had in ages. Also great Pho and spring rolls. Reasonable prices for big portions and very fresh ingredients. We'll be back. Kery read more

Tried this place out today and ordered the grilled pork sandwich. Let's just say the carrot in the sandwich tasted better than the meat. The grilled pork did not taste or looked grilled at all and was SOOO salty I felt that I was just eating salt. Also, the sauce (watery butter based) they used made my sandwich extremely distasteful and soggy. Worst Vietnamese banh mi sandwich ever. Will not be returning to this place! read more

My husband and I went there for the first time today mainly because the reviews are amazing and had to give it a try. Well the reviewers are right! We had the pork sandwich and steak sandwiches which we split. The pork and steak itself was tender and very flavorful from the marinades. The sandwich is on a kind of crusty french roll and it had cilantro and pickled carrots on it which were amazing! The price is extremely reasonable too! We will definitely go there again!!! read more

Great sandwiches but always out of stock of some items/ingredients. Priced reasonably. Springs rolls are bland and cheaply executed. Service is average. Maybe short staffed because plates weren't available (undergoing wash) since they were "busy". Good place if you're in the area already but not worth the trip out from afar unless you're really craving for their sandwiches. read more

The noodle bowls are excellent. I really like the tofu noodle bowl. It's a great spot for lunch. The atmosphere is not fancy, but it's absolutely worth the trip. read more

The bahn mi was incredible! I wish I was going to be in Milwaukee longer so that I can try more. I had the house special and it was totally on point. The veggies were fresh and crisp! The spring rolls were good and the peanut sauce was very good too. The pork buns looked amazing and I regret not getting some. I highly recommend this place! read more
