BBQ Pork

Nice new Viet cafe in Tosa. They just opened and not everything on the menu is available right now. You get a complimentary ice tea while waiting which was definitely a nice touch. I ordered a cold foam Matcha Latte and BBQ pork. Good quality drink and food. Good portion of food. They have a few dining in tables and a high table facing the street.

A great new addition to North Ave! Today was our first time here, but won't be our last! We got egg rolls and an Iced Coffee and both are 10/10!

Very flavorful delicious food. Can eat in but mostly to go. Friendly staff offers a free small glass of iced tea while you wait for your order. Jasmine iced tea with boba was delicious. As was the marinated pork. Simple's clean restaurant with bar seating at the window so you can eat looking outside. portions are large so I had leftovers. Will return. Street parking.

Our drinks were great, the staff were friendly and gave us free iced tea while we sat and talked.

I'm not usually a coffee drinker but the iced almond brittle latte was good and not too sweet. I noticed 2 large coffee drinks made and slid over to the pickup area; they were in exactly the same paper cups, but neither were labeled. How were they to know which drink belonged to whom? I wondered.‍ Oh well, sure hope they did. I ordered a flat white, something I'd heard great things about online. However, this one was not a good way to start my journey. This flat white was absolutely AWFUL. I'm not sure what it was--if the coffee itself was over-roasted, or the milk went bad, or the machine (God forbid) was not clean--but the drink tasted burnt, bitter, highly acidic, and just "off," giving a weird unpleasant sourness at the back of my tongue. It's a good thing Collectivo serves flat whites in their smallest size, because if it had been any larger, I could not/would not have finished it. I'm by no means a coffee connoisseur, but I *am* a bit of a coffee snob. I love a good coffee. I love a well-made coffee. I know good coffee. I typically buy local freshly roasted beans, and make myself a coffee at least 1-2 a day at home. NONE of the coffee I've ever made at home--or that I've had out and about at any other shop--has tasted as bad as what I had at this particular Collectivo. I'm not saying they're all like that, I'm not even saying any other drink at this Collectivo is bad, but I anticipated--and expected--much better. I may give them another try in future, but only with GREAT trepidation. Of course, YMMV.

The staff is always helpful too. When I stopped in they were running a special on their chocolate-covered strawberries, and of course I couldn't resist. They were fresh and delicious! Easter is one of my favorite with their different flavored filled eggs but I'm not sure there isn't anything in here I wouldn't love to take home with me any time of year. It's a feast for the eyes the second you walk in with both the chocolates galore and the seasonal decor plus combined with the aroma of chocolate, it's the perfect little store. Small selection of non-chocolates available as well (and where I discovered freeze dried candy) but chocolate is where they definitely excel. The staff here is always friendly and helpful too.
