I love xfish so much their fish to rice ratio is the best nothing will ever compare to their food. hahahaha andy was our server tonight he was very helpful and attentive. the restaurant has good vibes on weekdays with tables available upon arrival. they might even let you pick where to sit!
Classy interior and quite spacious. We came on a Friday afternoon before 4pm. It was getting quite busy but we were seated right away. So the timing was perfect. Our host was friendly and he explained how everything works. As soon and we submitted our ticket, the food came out quick each time! They came out fresh and tasted amazing! 10/10
I'm so glad I chose this location instead of Buena Park because the service was so amazing! My friends and I decided to do the Signature Menu ($39.99) and it came with 3 rounds, 10 piece per person each round. There is a section of certain orders you can only order once a round so make sure to keep an eye on that when ordering. Other items and rolls can be ordered on your phone through a or code directed to a website and it includes items like the Spicy Garlic Edamame, Hand Rolls, and Tempuras. My favorites were the Sake Salmon, Hon Maguro Bluefin Tuna, and Unagi Freshwater Eel. We paired our meal with a bottle of Cass and Miso Soup to wash down. The salmon was not fishy at all and was buttery where it melts in your mouth. The rice to fish ratio was perfection where I didn't feel like we got ripped off at all. Parking was located in a structure and then you walk down to this place. Not a bad wait and also very quick service, even when they said they were understaffed.
Came here for my birthday dinner and had a great experience! I didn't realize it was all-you-can-eat, so definitely bring your appetite. They have a great selection of sushi, specialty rolls, and ramen. Just be careful not to overorder since there's a fee for food waste, which I actually think is a great idea. Fresh food, lots of choices, and a fun dining experience!
I've heard many good things about this place and I understand why! We were luckily enough to come on a day that wasn't too crowded and got seared immediately. The chairs imo, were too high for the table, I felt like I was hovering over the food, idk if that makes sense but something I noticed immediately after sitting. The menu system is a bit confusing. There's a paper menu and one you place online via QR code. For the paper menu, we were limited to 20 pieces of nigiri at a time. This wasn't a huge deal since it was only 2 of us, but I can see how that can become frustrating with larger groups especially since there's only 3 rounds, unless the limit increases with group size. The online ordering system only allowed you to order 2 appetizers at a time. I love me some baked mussels and unfortunately 1 order = 1 baked mussels which means we were only able to order 2 mussels at a time and then have to wait until our 5 minute wait period is over before placing another order. This is the first sushi restaurant that I been to that had this small of a limit... They also limited you on the carpaccio order but that was expected. Aside from the menu and ordering frustration, I think their food and service is great. Their fish tasted very high quality and the fish to rice ratio was spot on! They had many different options of nigiri to try, so we definitely got to try a little of everything. There was only 1 item we didn't like and our server was kind enough to remove it from our bill. Overall it was a good place for high quality sushi. I just wish I wasn't so limited when placing orders since it is ayce and they already emphasis the leftover charge.
came first thing when they opened on a Saturday, it def was already pretty busy and they seemed short staffed. During our meal there was someone who i assumed was newer to the restaurant and the person training or teaching them was really loud and kind of rude pointing and touching all the tables trying to teach the new person the layout. I understand training but I don't think it was a good idea to do it in front of full tables of guests. or maybe have a map of the tables near the kitchen for them to review but training very very loudly and disturbing others guests just did not sit well. Besides that the food was great as always. I wish they did offer a less rice option but the portion isn't as much as other places. It's a very very busy location so i would recommend getting there a decent amount of time earlier than you'd want to eat.
Service was good and quick ~ never had to wait long to place new ayce rounds, arrived around 3pm on a Saturday for a party of 4 and no wait. Interior is really clean and nice decor. We did the $42 ayce standard and it was very good. Probably my favorite ayce sushi places. They have a huge menu of nigiri, carpaccio, appetizers, ramen, rolls with a handful of rice less rolls (we liked the Sakura roll). Sushi quality was great! Some items are limited to 2 pc per person like the carpaccio and those were some of our favorites. Unagi (eel) is limited in sushi form but you can get unlimited eel hand rolls.
Always a go to spot for AYCE sushi! I love their service here too. Tonight we were served by Andy and he was very sweet and attentive. Good service on top of good food always gets me to come back!
My girls took me here for an early birthday celebration. We kept checking Yelp waitlist in the app cause it was a Friday night but the app kept saying no wait. When we got there, there was a waitlist and it was like 30 minutes. Kinda bummed they didn't just keep the app waitlist on. In any case, it didn't seem like it took 30 minutes which was great. We got seated and all seemed well or so we thought. The wait for food or any kind of service was horrendous. Like constantly having to ask for refills and then ask again cause the first server forgot. I legit saw some other table just get up and get their own pitcher of water to serve themselves cause they waited so long. The food also took forever to come out. When it did, it was good but definitely not worth the wait. It wasn't anything special. They also got one of my rolls wrong which took forever to come out in the first place and then forever to fix. There's also limits in the app for the hot foods, apps and rolls. I get limits but like limiting one tempura item per table or one single mussel per person seemed so extra. Oh and the yakitori comes by tre pas but like it rarely comes out and sometimes they skip your table so we legit only got two skewers our whole time there. The tempura all had a floury aftertaste so it wasn't light and authentic like it's supposed to be. The place is very modern so don't expect comfy seats, they were all wooden with no cushions. It did look clean in there though. All in all, I wouldn't come again cause of the service. Food was fine but if I'm gonna pay for ayce and then wait forever for food, it's really not worth it. Iykyk. There was no dessert and lots of extra charges for things off menu, more so than most ayce places. Quality seemed like it should have been better for the price point and what they're trying to be.
We ate good! Fish is high quality and service was fast. The wait time was like 25 mins on a Saturday night. There was also nice lighting so the vibes were good. Overall a great night with good eats!
Still my fav all you can eat sushi spot. Lunch deal is such a great deal. If you like salmon. Don't sleep on this spot. I hate when all the fish taste the same. But here the salmon is always nice and buttery. Great texture Salmon bomb I get regular salmon and peppered that has a slight sear Udon soup is really good here. Get the Nagasaki spicy udon. Flavor is so good. Little char flavor that I love. This is a must get Fried tempura shrimp is done well Always good food. Always great service. Plenty of parking

My wife & I have been here twice in the past 4 months. The wait was minimal due to the fact that we came here during lunch time on a weekend. The quality of the sushi was very fresh and they have quite a lot of choices when it comes to sushi, sashimi, carpaccio, cut rolls, hand rolls, and izakaya (small appetizers). Everything we ordered from the menu was good. The fresh sushi is ordered from a paper while everything else is self-ordered via their online menu you can access by scanning the QR code that's uniquely assigned for our table. We started off with all the available carpaccio for our visit (it's limited to two pieces each per person). After that, we ordered a variety of sushi and izakaya. In fact, I even enjoy the small bowl of udon from their menu. The broth was tasty, but not salty) and the noodles were perfectly cooked. It's definitely one of the best AYCE sushi restaurants in SoCal and we can't wait to go back again soon! read more

Ive been to a few ayce sushi places and i have to say this one takes the cake. The fish is fresh and buttery soft with no fishy after taste. Thumbs up for that. I loved the omakase special plate of sushi. I would definitely recommend going here. The omakase with the special plate and the blue fin are totally worth it. The service was pretty good. They have a digital menu so you dont deal with a server that much. The ambiance is nice. I loved it overall i would definitely choose to come here over other places. My husband and I came here on a Friday for lunch time. I kept checking the Yelp wait-list on it kept saying there was no wait. Came there and there was a wait. They have signs inside saying the Yelp wait-list is not accurate - why set it up there if it's not accurate? That bugged me. Then they asked us to wait outside in the rain with our baby in the stroller. To me, these two first experiences were not inviting. The restaurant itself is somewhat small - it replaced an old sushi restaurant. The ambiance is bright, Japanese style wooden furniture/minimalist. It's actually quite loud and sound echoes in the restaurant. I observed this because we brought our baby and she kept getting startled by other parties' loud banter. Anyways, when we were finally seated, service was somewhat quick. Our server explained the options to us - we chose the sushi lunch (includes ayce sushi, rolls, ramen, udon). Pretty good for $30 pp. I wouldn't say the sushi was super amazing, but it was good for an ayce place. Prices are good too! I love my experience with xfish. They never disappoint. This was my third time dining here and it hits the spot everytime. The ambiance was amazing for photos. Finally tried another AYCE Sushi again. Saw this place and heard some good reviews. Good sushi to rice ratio. 90 minutes time limit. More than enough with good pace of incoming sushi. Nigiri and specialty order by paper. 10 pcs/person/round for Nigiri. Up to 3 round. So max is 30pcs Nigiri per person. With groups plenty enough to share. The rest is truly unlimited such as rolls, tempura, udon, ramen, etc. Except the specialty, such as Carpacio. Order thru QR Code. We could not even eat 120 pcs Nigiri for 4 of us. Cause we ordered some rolls too. Sushi was fresh. Roll is hit and miss. The QR code order takes awhile for some reason even simple stuff like Edamame, Miso Soup. Modern ambiance dining area. Very spacious and rarely see them completely full. Good for once awhile treat. Parking is plentiful with parking garage next to it and EV charging. read more

Went to X-Fish Izakaya with a friend and had such a great time! We ordered a bunch of hot sake and shared a variety of dishes--everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The sashimi was top-notch, the grilled skewers were packed with flavor, and the small plates were so good we kept adding more to our order. Service was fast, attentive, and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed yet lively, making it a great spot to unwind and enjoy good food with good company. Perfect for a casual lunch or an easygoing night out. I'll definitely be back! read more

Wait time wasn't really worth it. Sure it's downtown Brea and you have a lot of other places to walk around and look at, but it's an AYCE sushi place so what can you really expect? It's not going to be 5 star sushi unless the price is like $100 per person... That being said, this was the first time I've seen them force us to use Arabic numbers when ordering sushi instead of using tally marks like every other sushi place I've been to. One of the first things I saw them do when we arrived was try to upsell us on their "premium" AYCE which basically comes with a plate that has some premium nigiri on it to look good for instagram photos or something. I personally don't think it's worth the extra cost, I believe it was like an extra $25 for it if I'm not mistaken. Anyways, it didn't seem worth it so we opted out of it. You can see in the attached photos what looks like obviously carbonmonoxide blasted tuna in my opinion (by the super bright pinkish color), OK salmon, and the yellow tail and other white fish wasn't that good in my opinion. Again it's an AYCE place, I can't give it a high rating regardless. But what made this experience not very good is that I felt like I had to constantly flag down the staff every time just to get their attention, even for basic thing like water refills and such. Then they have this special menu you have to use your phone to order on which would be convenient if they let you order everything on phone instead of only certain items, but it's ok. My tummy hurt while eating here so I had to use the bathroom before our party even left. Not good. Anyways this is my 100% personal opinion. It's not the worst place I've ever been to but it's definitely not somewhere I ever plan on coming back to every again. Thank you! read more

Honestly, X-Fish is my go to AYCE because they don't douse spicy mayo/eel sauce over their sushi's! Also the quality and cut per order is thick and the rice to fish ratio is perfect. I go here so often and enjoy coming every time. The staff is usually attentive and the hot foods come out quick. We've brought friends and family over and have recommended it to others and they've enjoyed it as well. I am giving 4 stars because although the hot foods come out quick, the sushi does take a while to come out after your first order. This is understandable due to how busy the restaurant is but it also becomes challenging when you're sitting and waiting for your next round of sushi and start to get full while you wait and have to force yourself to finish it so you don't have to pay the extra fee. But honestly we've never had a hard time finishing the plates IF there's at least 3 of us because the others can help finish the rest. I also enjoy all the hot food items except for the ramen. I think the ramen is a hit or miss. Sometimes it's seasoned well and sometimes there's no flavor at all and could benefit from a little salt. Nonetheless this is still my favorite AYCE spot and will choose this over all the other options. There's a long waitlist if you come around dinner but you can kill time around the area. read more

They are always quite busy. You show up and you sign in on their guest registry and they will notify you when your table is ready. They do not take reservations.

their reservation isn't accurate, you can put yourself online first, and then, on Saturday I had to wait for an hour, luckily the main street in Brea seems to be colorful and worthy taking a stroke down the Birch street
