Installed 2 Pella Architect series windows, each window consisting of a large fixed pane at the top and a shorter awning at the bottom.
Sale process, measures, and quoting went smoothly. Pricing was competitive, about $200 less than competing bids for a job around $4500.
On installation day they didn't take much care of the carpted floors (didn't wear boot covers), they suffed the ceilings on both bedrooms, and they reinstalled the blinds incorrectly (both of them crooked and one did not work afterwards). Also the interior window frames had fingerprints as I assume they came with some dust/grease from the manufacturer and the installers didn't bother to wipe them. Also a piece of drywall came off as they removed the old window, but I assume this is not uncommon.
The window installation itself is solid and I have no doubts about the quality of the materials used and the placement of everything.
I called the owner, Marty, who came to my home and after some complaining ("these blinds are not new") and denying ("we couldn't have scuffed your ceilings") procedded to fix a few things: he reinstalled the blinds to the original position and brough them back to working order, and he wiped the window frames. He also attempted to erase the marks/scuffs from the ceilings but unfortunately a small piece of plaster came off. No offer to fix them was made.
Overall, they did the job but being a bit more careful with my home would only cost them a bit of extra time (30 minutes top) and would have saved me the patching of the ceiling and amy be the patching of the drywall as well. read more
