Please don't go to Walmart or some big chain store for a bike! Please support small businesses. I can't guarantee you'll have the same level of service I received when I went there, because as it turns out, Mike is an acquaintance of mine. I was very happy about that because I had questions! My ex-wife and I told him all about what we wanted to us the bike for and our price range as well as measure and explain the appropriate size l. I had no idea there were so many options and that bikes had a suspension system! My ex was offended when he suggested a what some may think is a feminine color to her, but I'm with him in this one. I wanted the olive green. Mike helped me out with the bike rack that fit on a 2013 Civic and a focus. I was able to adjust it to fit my car and allow any potentially curios police officers to see my license plate. I also got a wheel lock and water bottle holder. I regretted not getting a gel seat cushion. I definitely recommend you go here for a bike. I'm probably going to go back for a thick tire mountain bike! read more

I'm so thankful for this little gem of a bike shop in town. Mike was able to fix my son's tire and make some needed adjustments really quickly. I also appreciate their laid back sales approach. Very nice and helpful. I went to look at a new bike on a Saturday afternoon when it was fairly busy. I believe the guys name was Matt and he took the time to answer my questions and took an unassembled bike from the back to show me the one I was interested in. When I went to pick up the bike it was busy as well and he took the time to review everything about my new bike. The assembly was perfect with no scratches or blemishes. I decided that during the COVID pandemic that I wanted to purchase a bicycle. Being from the area I wanted to give a small local business my money. Not having ridden a bike in a few years, I took to the internet and found which mountain bike would be good for a beginner. I emailed Wyckoff Cycle, explained what I was looking for and a price point I felt comfortable at. I was emailed back with 3 options of bikes that they said would be good for what I was looking to do and all were less than the top of my budget. Low and behold, the bike I had been researching for about a week was one of the options! The next day I was contacted by phone and they went over some common accessories which I also purchased (still under budget) arranged payment and picked up the assembled bike about 2 hours later. We had nothing but a good experience coming to Wyckoff Cycle. It was time to get my wife a bike. She hasn't purchased one since she was a kid, so we needed expert advice. We needed something economical and easy. We had first gone to a big box store, thinking that would be the easiest route. No one wanted to help us and we left disappointed. Living in the area, we stopped in to Wyckoff Cycle looking for help. We told Mike exactly what we were looking for. He was super helpful and patient, answering all of our questions. He asked us questions to help determine just the right bike for my wife. We bought the bike, Mike prepped it, and we were on our way. By the time we got home, the back tire had gone completely flat. I called Mike back up, and he said to bring it right back. He took a look at the tire and saw it was defective. He swapped the tire and we were back in business. He made the whole thing completely painless. Not only will I be bringing this bike back for regular service, I'll be bringing my other bike here from now on. I bought 2 bicycles from here. My wife was riding bikes our 7 year old twins. My sons chain broke on the way. She was right near the store. She went and asked if they could fix the chain. He said no that it would be 2 weeks. That he could sell her the chain and your husband can fix it. That is the beat we can do. How in your right mind do you leave a mom with 2 small children stranded. It would have taken them 5 minutes to replace the chain. So my wife was stuck to walk with 2 small kids and 3 bikes over a mile uphill. Where is the decency to your community?? Who leaves a woman and children stranded like that?? read more

Went to have a flat changed. All it needed was a tube. Was too busy to do it myself and was told to come back around closing time. When I got there they had replaced the tire, claiming it was "unridable". I've been bicycling seriously for 40 years and there was at least 1000 miles on the tire. The main point is they sold me a new tire that was inferior to the old one without calling me and presented me with this fait accompli just before closing time. Arrogance and incompetency. They're clowns. Don't go there. read more

Horrendous purchasing experience. I purchased a bike from Wyckoff Cycle and it was assembled poorly and never checked or tuned. When I arrived home with the bike there were multiple issues with the assembly work. It was also discovered that the crankset bottom bracket was defective and needed to be replaced. I have shelled out over $50 to iron out issues on a New bike. The owner Mike made an excuse that the employee that assembled my bike no longer works for him. I brought it to another bike shop and multiple issues were identified. Crankset issues, front and rear derailleurs needed adjustment and lose headset. All theses issued would have been discovered and eliminated if the shop employees had test rode the bike and tuned it after assembly. The owner Mike refuses to respond to voice mails or emails. The owner Mike refuses to rectify the situation and act like a responsible business owner. He has no integrity and once he has your money he treats customers very poorly. I never expected this from a local business. Attached is a pic of the bad lower crankset bracket that I just paid to have replaced. Again this is a NEW BIKE!!!! The good: they put 2 tires/tubes on my bike while I waited. The bad: They quoted me a price for the tires when I called on the phone and..........when I arrived, they told me they were $5 more each (25% more). They said the computer inventory said they had the less costly tires but they didn't. Also, they wouldn't even reduce the cost by $4........or anything for the misleading information. Advise: make sure they have what they say they do.... at the price they say it is. Also: On their site they say they are taking Covid precautions. No employee in the store had a mask. I just recently had my old 80s Bridgestone steel frame bicycle tuned up and had some new parts switched out (wheels, brakes, misc. parts). On first conversation they suggested a new bike. Fearful that they were just trying to get me to spend a lot of money, I went in anyway to discuss with the option of just tuning up my bike or getting a new one. To my pleasant surprise they told me what good condition my bike was in and suggested I just use this one as a beater through the winter and wait until spring for a new bike. It was obvious they had my best intentions in mind and they weren't just trying to sell me something. Turn around time for my bike was less than 4 days. Upon entering near closing time (during holiday weekend), we were greeted by a smiling, friendly, and super knowledgeable staff member. He fitted a bike for one of my toddlers, making sure the seat, wobble of the training wheels and size of the bike were all perfect for my little girl. I said I needed the same one, different color for my other daughter. He said there was one downstairs that just needed to be assembled. We said yes and understood that it probably wouldn't be assembled until next week. He carefully fitted helmets for both daughters, making sure they were happy with the color. We rang everything up, had one of the bikes to come home and figured we would get a call the following week for the other bike. Approximately half hour later, AND AFTER closing time I received a call telling me the other bike was ready to be picked up. My daughter was so excited that she would be able to ride this weekend with her sister, with their matching bikes!! I came in and thanked them profusely and one member said, they didn't want to send only one bike home because it wouldn't be fair to the other sister. If this isn't a business with a heart, than I don't know what is!!! I am beyond thrilled and thankful for them. My girls have a sturdy, perfectly fitted bike and helmet and HUGE smiles on their faces. I would continue to come here for all bike needs and would HIGHLY recommend going there. read more

Just bought a new bike here-Lapierre Spicy-an all mountain enduro bike and Mike ordered it, built it and even rode with me to make sure I loved it. His recommendation to upgrade to a 27.5 inch wheel has really changed the way I am riding and has given me more confidence to ride the harder trails in the area. Mike then set up the bike for me, fork adjustments and set the sag on the shock so I was very happy with the service I received again from the shop. Lots of my friends go here now and I haven't had one of them say a bad thing about the shop. The selection, the service, owner on premises all the time and willing to spend time with you to make sure you find what you need. All of my friends also use this shop as well as local racing teams, he even shows up to provide free support for local charity rides and doesn't ask for anything back.
