I used Apple tap to pay with a debit card that was compromised later that day. the bank canceled that card (what timing?!) so... when I went to return the item, I was turned away because I could not use the tap method. they could not find the purchase and told me that I should just "sell it on eBay" or Google our corporate phone number if that doesn't work. This was my absolute worst experience with Home Depot's customer service department EVER! I was (not) helped by a young woman named Lily. I don't know how a company would hire somebody with that terrible of customer service skills to be their on site manager. but once I raised enough chaos with other cashiers, I found another manager that was totally willing to help me? and they resolved my situation with store credit. (Amazing!) I was absolutely blown away that somebody would tell me to "sell it on eBay" as my only other option since they couldn't 'prove' that I actually purchased this item in the store. Somehow, my bank records were not enough. I knew exactly what register I bought it on, and we went to that register and looked up the history, found it, and resolved it very quickly!! ... albeit no thanks to Lily. Hanna, the other supervisor on duty for cashiers was AMAZING!!!!! So helpful, nice, and had empathy that totally refreshed my faith. What is up with the younger generation??! No social skill, empathy, or general pleasantness. Like you are being paid to help customers specifically... do the job don't patronize me. Thank you Hanna!!!!
