Placed my order for pickup and was told 20 minutes. Showed up after 25 minutes and it was not ready. Told to call (from the parking lot) in 10. Did that...still not ready. Wait another 10...still not ready. There were a lot of cars here..then they all got their orders and left. I'm the only car here yet not ready... NEVER AGAIN. Damn. Super bummed about the entire meal. We ordered Chicken mei fun, beef with broccoli, steamed chicken and veggies, and wonton soup. Here's the rundown: The mei fun was soooo dry and had basically no chicken. We took a bite each and threw it out. I'm not a fan a greasy food, but this was so dry it was difficult to swallow. The beef and broccoli was some of the worst I've had - the the beef strangely didn't even taste like meat (???). The sauce was also crazy thick and like I'd never tasted before. The steamed vegetables and chicken were ok. Again, really lacking on the meat. I could have just thrown in a frozen bag of vegetables at home in the microwave with better results. The only thing that was honestly enjoyed from this meal was the wonton soup. The staff was friendly enough but $30 of food was thrown out and we wound up having to go back out to grab something different it was that bad. I may be spoiled from mainly living in NYC and them having some really delicious spots, but I'm really not that picky. This was an exceptionally bad meal. read more

Forget pricey Chinese downtown: Wu's serves up the BEST Chinese food at the beach. Typical very modest dining room belies the good stuff coming out of the kitchen--fresh is the name of the game here. I suspect most dishes are from scratch, fresh, not frozen. We always order steamed meat dumplings: there are country style--thick wrapper and ground seasoned pork filling. Edamame is perfectly cooked. Lo mein is flavorful with a sprinkling of veg along with the chosen meat. Orange chicken has orange peel and is absolutely delicious. You'll have to take out if you want an adult beverage with your meal. So glad we have this gem at the beach. read more

Wu's kitchen has not been open too long; maybe a couple of years. We first found it because it is next door to the QVC outlet store in Rehoboth, Delaware. There are several "Chinese" carry outs in this predominantly summer beach resort area. A few are good; this one is GREAT, as long as you understand that you are getting American food and not really Chinese food! Last night, 1/13/2014, I carried out something made to my specifications: shrimp and tofu in a white garlic sauce (I am gluten free and cannot eat most brands of soy sauce; unless I know the restaurant will use GF soy sauce, I avoid dishes made with it (for one of those, see my review of MaMa Wok on Key West Ave in Rockville, MD). One of the great things about Wu's is their flexibility. The young lady at the register made sure she understood what I wanted, again - NOT on the menu, although maybe now they will add it. After a few minutes, she came out to show me the prepared dish to again make sure! It was PERFECT. Lots of fresh garlic as I'd requested. To be honest, I don't think they charged me enough for this dish! My wife had their fried chicken wing appetizer and we shared a NOT salty egg drop soup. It is a small place, but does have 8 or 9 tables for very casual dining. No ambience, but who cares? This is a beach resort and not Downton Abbey. If you are in Lewes or Rehoboth, or even Dewey Beach, I highly recommend Wu's and the wonderful, hard working, people there. read more

Good Chinese food is hard to find in Rehoboth Beach, and you certainly won't find much of it here. The last take out order I got had the most unusual and unpleasant taste I've experienced in Chinese food for a very long time. After a few mouthfuls it went in the trash. Dinner ended up coming from my freezer. The Hot and Sour Soup had no spice, so was basically 'sour soup' and had very little flavor. And if you like onions order the curry beef with onion. The plate consists of about 50% onion, and 50% everything else...yikes! read more

Visited Wu's Kitchen based on the reviews here on Yelp. While the food was decent it was not exceptional as the 4.5 stars or higher we noted in other reviews. The hot and sour soup was well made with tofu, pork, black mushroom, bamboo shoots, Lilly buds, and was appropriately topped with chopped Spring onions, but in truth it was neither hot nor sour. Not bad, but maybe more aimed at the western pallet. The chicken moo shu was very good; a little on the sweet side and could have used more onion possibly. Definitely the best dish in our order. The Four Seasons was decent, but again rather bland. It was supposed to come with snow peas, but came with green beans instead. I suspect they were out of snow peas. The brown sauce was not particularly savory, but I suppose brown sauce is not generally special anyway. Overall, the food was good, but not what we expected based on other reviews. Prices ranged from $7.75 - $13.00 for dine in entrees. read more

Sushi is very good for the price. The spicy rolls are quite strong and good sized. I can't wait to try their other Chinese and Japanese dishes. Only complaint I have is that they forgot to provide chopsticks. This place was just okay to me. The sesame chicken was mostly good until I bit into a battered lump of fat (gross!) and the lo mein smells a little off but tastes okay. The egg foo young gravy was not what we're used to and smelled funny. My kid who loves the gravy wouldn't eat it and it turned my stomach as well. The French fries (a regular order gives lots of fries!) and spring rolls were great. The bathrooms and restaurant area did not impress me for overall cleanliness, which added to my experience. This place is so good. I travel from DC to Rehoboth during the fall and winter to get away from the city life. I always come to Wu's because the food is very good because it's not loaded with sugar and grease. The chicken with broccoli is great. Just picked up my order of kung pao chicken that I repeatedly explained that I wanted it extra spicy. It was the blandest least tasteful kung pao I have ever had. There were maybe 10 peanuts in the entire order. The vegetables consisted of a ton of celery and maybe 10 small pieces of carrot. After adding my own soy sauce and siracha sauce I still could not achieve the kubg pao flavors I thought I was purchasing. Clearly the quality if preparationhas declibed since Wu'-s opening. I gave 3 stars because some of their offerings are not what you think. Hibachi means to me grilled. No theirs - it's just stir fry drowned in sauce. Young Chow Fried Rice doesn't have soy but theirs does. Other then that, we have found their food to be good. Their egg foo young is some of the best we've had and the chow mein has lots of green vegetables. We recently retired here from D.C. so can't expect we'd get Chinese food as good as get in China Town, but this place is probably the best we've found in the area and we've tried at least 6 places. Great for take out. Typical selection of entrees and sides; nothing unique about the menu. Not sure if the food had MSG in it or not, but if it did, it was barely noticable. Vegetables were fresh and crispy and the meats seemed fresh and tender. I tend to like my Asian food on the spicier, more exciting end of the spectrum, so to me, the food from Wu's was overall a little bland. We called in a $60 order and it was ready when they said it would be. THey don't deliver. When we got back to the house, we discovered they didn't include any of the white rice that was supposed to come with several of the entrees. We called back, explained the situation and were invited back to retrieve the rice. No apologies, no explainations, but no problems getting it either. I will order from Wu's again. read more

So glad we found Wu's Kitchen! We love Chinese and always have a hard time finding quality take out Chinese food. Confucius downtown is one of our favs, but it's pricey and we'd prefer not to take the kids there. A friend told us about Wu's. We were skeptical but gave it a try and everything we had was great. We ordered spring rolls, orange chicken, general tso's chicken and shrimp in black bean sauce. Perfect ratio of breading and sauces. We'll be repeat customers for sure. read more
