When I said I would be back I wasn't kidding. We returned to Saketumi last week and had a good experience! I had the Crouching Tiger roll and the Plum. The Crouching Tiger roll was fantastic, I didn't realize it had tempura crab in it as its not listed on the menu which I would have probably not ordered had I known, however it was very good and flavorful. I also had the Plum sushi entree, it was very good as well. There were some issues throughout our visit such as some raw pork shumai served to one of the members of our party and my Plum sushi set coming with a California roll originally though I had ordered a Tuna roll, wouldn't have been a big deal besides the fact I am allergic to Avocado so needed that remedied immediately. Thankfully we had a FANTASTIC server named Ausitin who not only fixed all of our issues but had great energy throughout the meal. None of the issues we faced stemmed from him they all stemmed from the kitchens lack of attention. Ambiance is super casual which we appreciated for a relaxed dinner. I had the Fried Chicken & Rice. It was huge. Enough for 2 meals. The Chicken was big and plentiful. Also had the Scallion Pancakes and Pan Fried Pork Dumplings. I housed them as well. They were crispy and delicious. Service was ok, not very crowded out of season. Apparantly they have a great Happy Hour. Very clean and spacious restaurant. Definitley will be back in the future, with my Brother in Law & Wife who both love Sushi. read more

It had pieces of seared tuna on top and inside, which made it a very filling roll for one person. We took advantage of the Father's Day Brunch at Saketumi from 11:30-2:30 pm today after gaving enjoyed a delicious meal here yesterday as well. I've posted some photos of the generous assortment of food items available, many of which I'd be unable to pronounce much less recall. We were seated immediately upon our reservation time of 11:30 am. The quality of the foid was extraordinary and included a large assortment of sushi. I tried the eel Avacado sushi today of which I'll not likely partake again in the future, thank you. Yesterday we were served by Dominic who unfortunately is relocating to northern NJ. He was exceptional, and his separation from the restaurant must be considered a loss. Hopefully the photos will be an idea of the variety of tasty foods we had to choose from. Alec & Mike are an awesome duo. Always a good time when I visit. Happy Hour specials are handled with care & expediency. Ordered HH Rolls: Tuna, Yellow Tail Scallion, Salmon & Spicy Tuna w/ Dim Sum App. Sushi is tasty, Dim Sum not so much flavor, however the prices here give you fair opportunity to try food you hadn't before. Thank you for sample of Szechaun Sauce (ft on the Ma Pa Tofu dish) as that helped flavor the Dim Sum. A group of us typically wnt to the Happy Hour in the bar. The food used to have generous portions. The prices went up and the portion sizes went down. At our most recent visit, the cosmos seemed bitter and not smooth. Not sure if they are using lower grade alcohol or less juice. Our group will probably go back, but not quite as often. read more

We usually eat in the bar area especially for happy hour but always order off the main menu as well. Been there dozens of times and only one misstep in all those times. Bartenders (especially Alec and the lady who I'm sorry I can't remember her name now) are very friendly and make excellent cocktails especially the Cosmos. It's a nice place to go for a very good happy hour that's priced fairly and with a very good happy hour selection and excellent food especially the sushi and all the food for that matter (many varieties and combinations of sushi). If it was offered I'd give it a 4.5 stars. Sushi gets a 5! read more

Waitress acted like she was on drugs, she had needle marks on her arms and missing teeth. She was hyperactive and couldn't stand still. Every time she set food on the table her hand would touch the food in some way. Which grossed me out. The food was not good at all. I ordered the hibachi chicken and it was the worst iv ever had. There was nothing hibachi about it. No noodles, white rice, big soggy pieces of chicken, not much too it. All it consisted of was broccoli, rice, chicken not even good flavor. But that seems to go away in this economy. Saketumi has always been a hit and miss with me. Inconsistency is the issue. May be it's a staff thing. I do want to make it a place I go regularly but they need to up their game. Lewes/Reho area already has enough mediocre restaurants. This was one of my favorite restaurants, but went a month or so back and they had changed the menu. It seems cheapened - for example, more veg than shrimp in the shrimp tempura. A lot of the dishes I liked to come for had disappeared, though some were available for lunch only. The service was lovely, the cocktail was better than usual, and the ambience is always a little loud. A good spot for happy hour when you're driving into town for a vacation or if you're a local just wanting to get Asian fix! Tried the appetizer platter on the regular menu. My friend and I enjoyed the crab wontons, coconut shrimp and spring rolls. The chicken satay was good with peanut sauce and the shumai were pretty thick/dense, just not was I was expecting. Enjoyed our sushi off the happy menu: spicy tuna and my mai tai! Cosmo is good, but we needed some extra cranberry juice which the nice bartender supplied us with! Vegans and gluten sensitives have many choices of tasty appetizers, soups, salads, sushi rolls, sides and entrees! A group of us shared some vegetable dumplings and were delighted with the steamed spinach dumpling stuffed with marinated grated cabbage, zucchini, and other garden goodies. For my main course, I ordered edamame, eggplant tempura roll and cucumber roll. The eggplant tempura roll was crunchy on the first bite and then melted in my mouth. Others at the table had coconut soup with chicken and stuffed avocado roll. All were tasty! Our server was attentive and upbeat. She appeared to be working alone in a large section during lunchtime on a Sunday. Yet, she handled her guests with grace, positivity and efficiency. Food was great, variety and everyone had their choice. Ambience a bit noisy bc of a large party just starting as we got our check. It happens. Service: (?) First, our main course arrived. Our plates of appetizers were still on the table. I even piled them to be helpful prior to his entry. He finally realized there wouldn't b enough room so he stopped and proceeded to remove them all. I asked for a fork and the waiter--- answered back! I gave you four forks. I asked for a fork!??? I didn't ask him if I could buy one! Our forks and chopsticks were piled into the plates for him. I thought to myself: sorry mother, I didn't know we were supposed to keep everything at our table. Maybe we were supposed to reuse the appetizer plates as well. I didn't bother waiting, someone hadn't used their chopsticks. I do believe if the shoe were on the other foot I would have gotten a good dressing down about customer service and etiquette-- his German accent said it all( apologies to all Germans-- maybe European accent.) at the point later he asked is everything okay, I should have schooled him then instead of writing this comment but I was pissed! So next time one tips the wait staff here is where it's appropriate that you are tipped by expected service, poor service or exceptional service. It was my birthday today! We weren't even asked about dessert. So maybe next time -- I might go with instinct-- take a look at Tokyo steakhouse or Cultured Pearl. The food and service were very good. The manager is rude and doesn't care about his customers. We had a large group for Happy Hour and a couple of ppl were standing but not in the way he told the waitress not to serve them. A friend went to talk to him and basically he said don't like the rules leave. The waitress was in tears and tried to accommodate us. A few ppl in our group left saying why eat where you're not welcomed. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. Apparently he is not nice to his workers either. The food experience was about a 7/10 for me and I added an extra star for service. We tried 5 different kinds of sushi and we were not overly impressed. Glad I saw them before she ate any. Miso soup was too salty and cloudy with Miso. Green tea was good, served in iron pot and hot. Had the eggplant tempura roll and it wasn't so great. Disappointed as it has had good reviews. My second roll was a shrimp Tempura roll, mhuh. The biggest disappointment was the Fried Calamari and spicy tuna roll. Saketumi used to be our favorite sushi spot; that changed yesterday! My husband and I went in for an early dinner. To start, we didn't see a wait person for close to 10 minutes. By the time she came, we had already closed our drinks, appetizer and entree! We ordered it all at the same time. Our beer came, followed by the appetizer (15 minutes apart). We finished our drinks and the Edamame beans and sat waiting for another 14 minutes! We had asked for extra Wasabi for our sushi, and instead received extra ginger with a finger tip full of wasabi. So we sat and waited since we both love the wasabi. Several minutes passed again and we got 2 plastic cups of wasabi and used every bit in our soy, except the mixture had no flavor and was not even remotely spicey! So we waited again for her to come and when she did, she explained it was a powder mix and not real wasabi...and that "real wasabi" was $2 extra! Umm this is a sushi place!!!? That finally came along with our second beer - we usually only get one, but we had dry glasses for more than 15 minutes so we ordered another. We're not huge eaters so we had the Edamame's and 3 rolls that we split. We only had a second drink because we had to wait so long for every single thing. Mind you, most tables were empty but most booths were occupied. Best Sushi in Rehoboth Beach. We have tried the top four Yelp reviewed Sushi Restaurants in Rehoboth Beach and this is our favorite for quality of the food. A few of the others have a better atmosphere, but do not come close to the food quality and value for your money. We came mainly for the sushi but were watching the other tables around us and the portions of everthing on the menu is very large. We ordered appetizers and the sizes were twice the size of most sushi restaurants. We ordered the Miso Soups, Garden Salad, and Avocado Salad. All were outstanding and very large. The Avocado salad had some bite to it, we are thinking there is Wasabi in the dressing. Be warned if you don't like Wasabi. We ordered the following rolls: California, Philly, Angry Dragon, Yum Yum, Tropical Thunder, Eggplant, and Sweet potato. They were all incredibly fresh and delicious. The Angry Dragon is very large (almost the size of two regular rolls) a great value for the money. Everyone mentioned how good the California Roll was. We always get a California and Philly roll everytime we go to a sushi restaurant and we all agreed this was the best California Roll we ever had. That is really saying something when we think about all the California Rolls we have eaten in our lives! I would also recommend their Ginger Ale which was much stronger than the normal Ginger Ale you get at a restaurant or supermarket. It really went well with the sushi. I also recommend that you make a reservation, even on a week day in the Summer. This restaurant was jam packed on our visit on a Wednesday at 6 pm in August. With our reservation we were quickly seated. The only negative was how crowded the restaurant was and the noise volume way too loud. There were also some cosmetic things inside the establishment that needed fixed and attended to. The ambiance is not up to the level of the other big three Sushi restaurants in the area, but the food is superior. read more

It really doesn't look like much from the outside. Next to a Hampton Inn, it kind of looks like a commercial building, maybe a machine shop or printing shop? Whatever it looks like--it sure doesn't look like a fantastic Asian fusion and sushi restaurant. My friend who lives in Rehoboth Beach recommended Saketumi for their Happy Hour, and while we didn't go for HH, we did go for one of our best dinners of our Delaware vacation. We ordered a Dim Sum Sampler ($12.00) for a "combination of steamed shrimp dumplings, shrimp and pork shumai and vegetable dumplings", two soups - Royal Wonton Soup ($6.00) for "ground shrimp topped with scallion and fried shallots" and Thai Spicy Lemongrass Soup With Shrimp ($6.50) for "Bell peppers, shitake mushroom, fine lemongrass, lime wedge, cilantro", a Salmon Roll ($5.50), and a Rainbow Roll ($14) "Kani, avocado and cucumber inside, topped with slices of salmon, tuna, yellow tail, white tuna, avocado". Our friendly server was excellent and suggested we have the soup course first because the dim sum would take a while to prepare. That was very considerate and earned her bonus points. My Lemongrass soup was tremendous - three shrimp with thin ribbons of shitake mushrooms, green and red peppers in a flavorful and spicy broth Our Dim Sum Sampler was worth the wait.  The steam basket arrived with nine scrumptious morsels that were terrific. And my grand final was the gorgeous Rainbow Roll - a gorgeous and delicious collaboration of crab stick, avocado and 4 fishes that was incredible. Came here for happy hour and really enjoyed it! Has the Saketumi appetizer platter which was mostly fried items and the shrimp tempura sushi roll. I absolutely loved the sushi. It was filling yet refreshing. The service was great at the bar even though they were busy for happy hour- the bartender even came by right before happy hour needed to see if we wanted to order any more drinks real quick. The drinks were super strong and we actually had to ask for an extra splash of cranberry juice for our cosmos- which the bartender said happens all the time. My mouth was watering at every dish that went by. I saw a sushi boat that was beautifully plated... I will definitely be back for dinner! read more
